We can construct messages to the millions of socialist-minded people in the US but we lack a platform to reach them. The DSA has an electoral platform that can reach millions. Indivisible/50501 has a mobilization platform that reaches even more. The Indivisible folks are ubiquitous where I live and turn up at all sorts of meetings from anti-ICE rallies to Veterans for Peace meetings. We have four DSA members on the local City Council and at least one in the state legislature. The Indivisible activists are the left part of the Democratic Party coalition that is staffed mostly by Democratic Party operatives while most of the participants are working people who volunteer, some on a weekly basis. What do we say to Indivisible activists? What do we say to the DSA activists? The DSA is much more politically complex than Indivisible; although the DSA is also part of the Democratic Party coalition, it hosts caucuses and individuals who favor running independent, DSA, candidates; some caucuses want to see an organization that can lead independent struggles, first, and an electoral organization subordinate to it. Finally, what would we say to the million of socialist-curious people in the US if we somehow could address them?
