I used to pull at school when I didn't want to do anything, get a letter excusing me
off cross country runs, etc.

Houllier on why Fowler probably won't be playing for Liverpool against Grimsby

"Robbie won't be training today because he has a chest infection and is resting in
bed."

Yeah, right...

And I have just finished Keith's book - well worth it when it comes out.

'A giant Manchester United flag that was missing for five months has reappeared. The
flag, nicknamed Big Lily, is now with owner Keith Norris from Northern Ireland.
Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of the 100ft by 60ft flag. The 34-year-old
from Carrickfergus told Ananova: "I still don't know how she came to be found, but
she's been returned, that's all that counts. We have been reunited. I am absolutely
delighted."

A Daily Star reporter returned the flag. It was then draped over the walls of
Carrickfergus's historic Norman Castle. Mr Norris adds: "I would like to express my
sincere gratitude to all who helped recover Big Lily. I can now complete Lily's
biography, Two Ceasefires, A Flag And A Wedding which details her exploits and
adventures across the globe."

The red, black and white flag disappeared after being stored at Old Trafford after
last season's last home game.'

Katsura Tanioka, football correspondent of Sports Nippon:

"Beckham went to Japan in 1999 for the Toyota Cup and made a big impression on
everyone, especially the girls. They don't know anything about football but they do
know David Beckham. They recognise his face and they like him very much. He will be a
very popular player with them."

Greece's goalkeeper, Antonis Nikopolidis:

"Sadly, I lost sight of the ball for a moment and that was crucial. Teddy Sheringham
blocked my view and I couldn't see the ball as Beckham was about to shoot - that was
fatal. I wasn't afraid of Beckham taking a free-kick - if you are scared you have
lost the game before it has begun. His goal stole victory from us and that was
disappointing. But Beckham is the world's greatest free-kick specialist and that is
important to remember."

'David Beckham is supporting a global scheme to eliminate avoidable blindness. He and
team-mates Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville are wearing blindfolds for World Sight Day. The
campaign aims to highlight to the problem of preventable and curable blindness on
October 11. Organisers are blindfolding landmarks and celebrities around the country
in their bid to eliminate the problem by 2020.

Beckham said: "It's a real tragedy that every minute, somewhere in the world a child
goes blind. But World Sight Day is giving everyone the opportunity to help change that
by Signing up for Sight." An estimated 45 million people are blind worldwide, and yet
80% of this blindness could be prevented or cured. Members of the public will have the
chance to show their support by "Signing up for Sight" at the UK events or online at
www.v2020.org.'
