Philip changed into sweats and a T and landed onto his bed, looking at the Legacy ring he had accepted and the responsibility that went with it.

"No matter what I do, it seems the path always returns here."   he had told Derek at one time, knowing it now to be true.

A miracle like no other he had ever witnessed before had happened in and with this House.  A fallen warrior had been returned to them.  Good had clearly triumphed over evil.

And he knew that now, of all times, this House was seen by the dark side and was now, if ever in doubt, a force to be reckoned with.

He knew his decision to rejoin the House once and for all was the right one to make.  And he knew, with some careful management, he would be able to continue his work within the Church.

After all, he thought, they were on the same side.  And he knew the local church was looking for a priest.

He would go there tomorrow and put in his request for transfer.

But for now....

He got up and quietly left the room, going downstairs to get that promised something for Alex.

She would at least eat a cookie, he thought, knowing she needed an ear more than a meal right now.

And milk.  "Cannae have a cookie w'thou' th' milk." he told himself as he poured a glass and headed back upstairs.

He reached Derek's room then, knowing she would be there and tapped on the door before peeking in.

"Time fer young ladies te be in there room."  He teased lightly, motioning for her to follow.  He handed her the cookie and the glass of milk when she exited and put his arm around her shoulders as he led her to her room.

"It's been a while since I've bugg'd ye too." he added with a half grin as they reached her room and opened her door "My ear's fallen asleep wi' no one te talk it off at the parrish.  Ye'll hav' te revive it."
