Re: [arr] Sakkarakatti: Marudhaani Lyrics Tamil + English + Hindi in Roman English + Hindi

2008-07-18 Thread V S Rawat
Thanks Aravind, for correction. You are most welcome.

I don't know tamil, so when I saw English translations posted, I picked
that and translated from there. Several things could not become clear to
me, in these two as well as the other songs. It is good that you corrected.

Hope members would enjoy the songs more, now that they know the correct
lyrics in three language.

And yeah, let me mention that I have Vali's name a lot. So, I am
enjoying the moment of having translated Vali's lyrics.

This goes in line with Gomzy's post but this is the past.. just read
on to get a feel of it.

A day in 1993
- Gopal Srinivasan starts a notice board with a welcome message and
Next day - Some passers by spotted it

First notice - Vithur : Mani's combo with ARR rocks! Its different
from the usual Mani films, and mark my word, this composer is set to
shine!

Next day - Overwhelming response in notices, Gopal rents two
additional boards
Notice #352: Some new member - ARR Rules! Vithur rocks!
Notice #353: Vithur: I am very much humbled by the humble comment of
the humled humble (Gomzy, this line of yours is classic!)

Some days later -
Some random member : Where can I get pirated cassettes of A R
Rahman's Roja? And it should have a combination of 1993 hits (if
possible, it should be below Rs 10.)
*** Gopal immediately adds to the group policy that piracy is not
encouraged in the group, and also replies to the member on it***

Months later -
Some new member : Bombay Theme is a direct lift from a French movie
Next hour - A member clarifies that the french movie was the one that
lifted from Bombay.

***Internet develops, mp3 becomes an everyday issue***
Gopal starts the Y! group and after some time
One day
-The same member posts again, this time with a link, and tries to
prove that the Bombay theme was indeed copied, but fails as he gives
a rehash of Beethoven's Fur Elise

One fine day,
New member: When will Padayappa release?
Vithur: It is already released
Gomzy: He meant the movie, vithur :)

Lovely mail.

However, Miss you da might be called an able, improved,
more-power-filled successor of Haay Jaana of Pukar.

So, it is not that ARR has never given such a song earlier.

Any idea if there were other movies of ARR, before JTJTN, in which songs

Same here.

how this list has lost its character in last 10 years. Now, it has
become mandatory to just praise ARR.

Information is mostly being exchanged about ARR's trivia, whom he met,
where he went, what he did, what he said about someone, what someone
said about him.

Apart from that, you are free to praise ARR endlessly.

There is no real analysis of his music. reviews of music and movies are
picked from the sites in dozens and hundreds and posted here. Any
reviewer having said the slightest negative thing about the music is
painted "he is always like that".

Members are posting not that many review and nowhere in that depth as
members were posting 10 years ago. members reviews give 8+ or 9+ out of
10 rating to each and every song. Any member saying a negative thing
about music is terms a Yuvan or Deva or IR's spy who came to destroy
this forum.

Anybody who has read Animal Farm by George Orwell might identify the
changes in the nature of this list. Thank God that things have not
reached George Orwell's 1984 level.

Seems more fresh air is needed here or there is no fun in remaining here.

Re: [arr] ARR not composing for Ashutosh Gowariker's next?

On 7/18/2008 8:35 PM India Time, _Gomzy_ wrote:

> hehe Rawat, you will be disappointed to know that he is indeed the
> composer. AG is the best and gets the best out of ARR.

I think JA music is an absolute failure on part of ARR.

ARR didn't at all get the feel of the period movie. It seems ARR had
absolutely no idea the large - big - huge - grand - great - showman
style in which AG was making the movie.

So, ARR composed music which is very personal, individualistic music,
and that didn't match at all, didn't fit at all in the grandeur of the
movie.

Result was disastrous. music sunk down without a trace in the movie.

This would be the only movie of ARR in which the director didn't butcher
the songs, still the songs didn't become noticeable, just because the
songs were on a different concept as if ARR was composing for a soft
love story between Jodha and Akbar, but the music movie was Princess and
Queen Jodha and Azeemoshaan Shanshaah Akbar from beginning to end.
Azeemoshaan Shanshaah is the only "public" song, and I found it
irritatingly loud. Moulded lyrics worsened it.

How could it happen?

Why, if ARR and AG are so intimate?

Didn't AG tell ARR what he is doing in the movie so that ARR would have
included the grandeur in his music?

it seems AG kept on emphasizing to ARR that he is making a love story
between Jodha and akbar, and that is why ARR created such a personal
music for the film, missing out on the grandeur.

Mughal-e-azam also had the 100% classical personal song Prem Jogan Ban
Ke, that was shot on Dilip and Madhubala in the garden overnight. But
rest of the music was mostly with the grandeur that befits on a period
movie of this scale. Even the songs between individuals had a grandeur
of a period movie.

ARR missed on this grandeur, and gave three long personal songs
- jashnebahara, in lamhon ke daman mein and khwaja mere khwaja. That was
disproportionate for the film.

Though I don't blame ARR for Manmohana fiasco. The song was so long and
too much noticeable, but that also I think is because AG must have kept
on emphasing to ARR about showing hindu Jodha doing prayers in Muslim
Akbar's palace, so ARR gave it a lot of importance and created such a
lggg non-subtle song that pinches in ears.

JA would always hold the crown of music going in one direction and film
going orthogonally to that. And I blame AG 100% for that. he took ARR
for a ride for this film. And ARR lost by not giving a "pyar kiya to
darna kya" level of song in it. I think ARR was just not knowing that he
can give such a song in it.

Re: [arr] Sakkarakatti: Marudhaani Lyrics Tamil + English + Hindi in Roman English + Hindi

2008-07-18 Thread Aravind AM
Hi Rawat,

Thanks for that effort!! But, there are a few mistakes I could spot...

here u go:

This one is not a mistake, but I felt it could have been put better to bring
out the complete essence of these lines:

Avan idhaya veetil vaazhum tamil degam venthu poagum
ena avan arunthida maataan SUDU neerum sudu soarum

He won't have hot-water or hot-rice, as it would burn the girl who's inside his
heart
(This idea is an adaptation of famous verses from Thirukkural)

The other place where I made correction was:

oruthikkaaka vazhkira jaathi, unaravillai innoru paathi...

(He is) someone who lives for (and loves) just this one girl...

But, his other-half (the girl) doesn't understand it!!!

as for the line for which you couldnt get the exact meaning -- I too couldnt
make out what the first part was - all because of one word... i dont think it
is vooda, but i dont know what it is!:
aathiram naethiram vooda .  paalayum KaLLaai aval paarkiraal
She suspects even milk to be toddy   (kaLL =
toddy)

Cheers,
Aravind

Sorry don't agree with you. I think songs in JA and Lagaan were
picturized very well. Furthermore Ashutosh is no doubt one of the
finest directors out there and especially after Lagaan, Swades and JA
he is now among the A-list "big" directors. And I think it is
important that our boss keeps working with big directors.

Dude,

Vaali has written just one song (Marudhaani) for Sakkaraikatti - and it is
definitely brilliant and is undoubtedly the best in the album in terms of
lyrics The other songs are by Na Muthukumar and Pa.Vijay and IMHO they are
nothing great, and only Vaali's lyrics stand out!!

Vaali rocks!!! Vaali-ARR combo has always been great...
Mayiliragae, Munbe Vaa, Ella pugazhum  and many more songs from vaali are not
only beautiful but brilliant too!!

I too love Vairamuthu's lyrics, but let's not undermine Vaali, who is a legend
and who continues to rock even today!

1000% agree the lyrics are waydown... first, the lyricist

Vaalli should stop writing lyrics for arr songs..

Vaalli is still living in the past... Bring Viramuthu backk..

PS : S'katti songs aren't that good..

ARR -- The Sweet Cube always

[arr] Vairamuthu Neram - July 18, 2008 ( 5 songs of ARR explained )

2008-07-18 Thread Vithur
In Vairamuthu Neram today,

*Uppu Kaaruvaadu SONG ( Mudhalvan ) *

" At times, a lyricist is compelled to write lyrics to suit the story, the
time , the song comes in the picture, and his creativity is stalled to a
certain extent. When I was writing lyrics for Mudhalvan, the scene was like
, " One Day CM wants to ease out, of his official side, meet his lover in
the village, spend some time with her, and share his love for her. I started
writing lyrics, and for which Rahman composed a superb melody tune. Dir
Shankar also liked it, and he called me at 12 AM in the night, and
congratulated me for the same, and told, that I have done an excellent job,
and the same could also be picturised using all Visual Effects, as the way
he wanted. The next day morning, the same Shankar called me, and apologised
with me saying, that he wanted a new set of lyrics, as the tune itself was
undergoing a change. I was very upset with him, and didnt talk to anyone for
a day. He called me later, and explained me the situation,

Dir Shankar told me , " Sir. Actually, this song comes in a climax in the
film, when the hero goes to see his heroine in the village, and this comes
in the fag end of the film. If a melody song, was fitted at that moment, the
audience would be compelled to leave the film, at that juncture, as a slow
song, at that juncture would have made them loose the feel of the speedness
of the movie. So, he wanted a Kutthu song ( A song with fast beats ) at
that junction, and thus came out, " Uppu Karuvaadu Oora vacha Sooru" . After
seeing the film, and the song, I agreed with Shankar and told him, that his
decision was the right one ".

Many a times, The lyricist is compelled to change his skills to suit the
timing of the song in the movie.

*Nadhiye Nadhiye song* ( Rhythm)

I was on flight to Singapore, and was supposed to go to Jakartha for
attending a Tamil Awards Function. I received a call, asking for an urgent
song. They wanted it very urgently, and that the picturisation of the song
was the next day. On way to Jakartha, from Singapore, I wrote the lyrics of
" Nadhiye Nadhiye " for Rhythm

*Sahaaana Saral ( SIvaji ) *
**
" Azhage Azhage Nee Aaradi Pani Thuliyaaa ", The song is like the hero
singing this song on the heroine, praising her, to see, if she is 6 ft in
height.. When this song was to be picturised, the sets of the song was put
up in Hyderabad. The set was made like that of a glass building. This song
was echoed in the sets. When everyone heard it there, the song was good, but
it didnt suit well with the set put up there . They wanted a song , to suit
the sets. The sets expected a different type of a song. Dir Shankar came
back to me, and requested me saying that the song was good, but didnt suit
the set arrangements fixed over there .

I replied to Shankar saying, " What is this Shankar ?. Till now, I was
writing only for Mettu ( the tune of the song ) , and you have made me write
lyrics for settu ( the Set Arrangements ). If it doesnt suit the Metttu (
the tune ) , I will change it and give, and if it doesnt suit the settu (
the sets ) , what am I to do ?". I grumbled, and along with this grumble,
came out the " Sahaana Saraal song ".

*Rasaathi Song ( Thiruda Thiruda ) *

Maniratnam came to me and said that , " You have poured out your feelings to
a greater extent in this song. The expectations are very high now. This song
has raised the expectations of a big Love Epic ( kaviyam in tamil ) . But
in the story, I dont have that much to tell. If a film fan who comes with
high expectations of wishing a big Love Epic, and doesnt see that much
impact in the film, the film flops, and doesnt become a success. So, he told
me to write lyrics seeing the story, seeing the actors in the film. Dont
keep love lyrics which have a deep influence in light subject stories.. This
was the request made by Maniratnam to me. When Bharathiraaja saw me , he
jealously asked me, " That song should have been written for me". The song
was expected to raise the film, the song which impacted me, and in the same
way, impacted the movie in a negative sense.

*Evano Oruvan song ( Initially to be in IRUVAR, but then came out in
Alaiypayudhey ) *
**
With the help of Manirathnam, I was called and told, " You have written the
lyrics of the song, Just start and come". I went to Rahman studio, and to my
surprise found that my song was already composed. A. R. Rahman had composed
a song out of my writings ( Vairamuthu Kavidaigal ) . " Evano Oruvan
Vasikirran, Iruttil irundhu Naan Yaasikiren". I experienced the bliss of
this song, when I heard it with the tune from Rahman, and the bliss was more
enjoyable, even when compared to the happiness that I got from writing it. I
was very very happy. That song was picturised for the film Iruvar.
Maniratnam told me that he would use this song, in a very suitable point,
and in a very beautiful fashion. The film got released, but the song wasnt
there . I started worrying, to know that it wasnt p

The Taxi Taxi lyrics was ok in the paragraphs. but the Initial one - "Nanban
kidaithal ellam OC , Nanba - nee oru ilavasa taxi" "You get everything for
free, if you have a friend, Oh friend, you are like a free taxi", sounds
cheap and jarring.

The paragraph lyrics are kind of cute. :)

Elay is decent.

In my opinion, The others are strictly ok.

And why should I be disappointed?

Gomzy is behaving oddly with me lately, giving odd type of answers
bordering on pinching, offending, insulting, ridiculing, degrading.

I am not liking it all. Behave yourself and stop it.

--
And I still think that AG is nowhere near best. He is very mediocre.

AG takes Aamir, Shahrukh, Hritik because they sell. Similarly, AG takes
ARR because ARR sells. That is why a stupid film like JA has become such
a hit.

Match that with Guru. Mani took all failed persons, Abhishek is making
record in giving flops, Aish is not really number 1. Mithud holds
guiness record in flops, Vidya had 3-4 films I guess and is one of many
wannabes, Madhvan is probably hit in south india but is unknown in hindi
films. Yet, Guru became hit on its own strength. Now, that is a
diretor's contribution.
--

ARR is an emotional person so he has started liking AG - may be for AG's
interest in music or AG's respect and love for ARR, so ARR creates good
things for him.

It doesn't have anything to do with AG's musical ability to extract good
things from ARR, I think. ARR is gifting away good things to AG.

Ability to extract good things from ARR is in Subhash Ghai who extracted
great music of Taal from ARR.
--

So, if you like ARR+AG songs that is your privilege to like them. I
can't say anything on that.

None of ARR-AG songs is my fav really, though I had always blamed it on
Javed Akhtar's mechanical, assembly line manufactured lyrics that are
without any touching emotion, but are just logic.

I still think that AG doesn't deserve ARR. AG is more to the level of
SEL and the likes.

Well, Chinmayi is turning out to be a veritable voice chameleon.
Listen to Ay hairathe, Mayya Mayya, Sahana, Kannathil Muthamittal,
Sandhippoma, Kadhal Neruppin (Veyyil by GV Prakash Kumar), and now
the two Sakkarakatti songs, and who would think they are the person?
Heck she morphs into two singers in one SINGLE song in Sk - I Miss

credited as Indai Haza. Tremendously talented is she!

ARR must continue to work with AG..
AG is only one of very few directors who has some
aesthetic sense..coming to songs..I think
not many ARR songs are picturized as beautifully as
Ghanan ghanan of Lagaan..the canvas, the artists and the
40 to 50 seconds of continuously shot scenes..
AG has music sense!

[arr] Lovable Alien!

2008-07-18 Thread Aravind AM
Lovable Alien!
Let's get into some imagination, shall we?

START! ACTION!

Imagine you are fast asleep, and you are woken up by a loud unusual
noise. You rush to the terrace to check whats happening. You see a big
UFO landing on your terrace (Terrace not big enough? ah, geez!! when
you can imagine a UFO landing on your terrace, can't you imagine your
terrace to be bigger! just imagine!! Back to the post, now!)
And
then, the door of the UFO opens, and out comes a creature - an alien -
a la the E.T., comes out. You look at it and are frightened. It looks
somewhat familiar to you, with two arms and legs! But, yet it is an
alien and looks a lot different too. You don't know what to expect
because you haven't seen anything like this before! Initially, you
don't get close to it as it is a very strange creature. But, then you
get along with it and become friends with it. It demonstrates its
special powers - though those powers are extraordinary, you get used to
it and start loving it!

CUT! CUT! CUT!

Now, the focus shifts to "I miss you da" song (sung by Chinmayi and
Indai Haza) from Sakkarakatti. Isn't it exactly like the alien that you
encountered a few seconds back? At least for me, it was!!

The first time I heard the song, I was like "What is this?! What's
going on?" It was unlike anything I had heard before. Rahman must have
been at the height of his experiment-mood!! There are so many unheard
sounds. The tune is so very unpredictable - keeps going smooth and
suddenly there's a fall - like a roller coaster! And, so suddenly it
goes up! And, I got one more surprise that Indai Hazaa is none other
than Chinmayi herself!

Once I got to terms with all these surprises, I started absolutely loving and
adoring the song!

I've said it before and I say it again - Only Rahman can create such magic!

I find Elay lyrics have a great simplicity and freshness. It is not just
a song, but a vision, a manifesto, a sort of anthem as for as lyrics are
concerned. Isn't that great.

On the other hand, i couldn't really get the flow of lyrics of
marudhani. I don't know what exactly the lyricist is trying to convey.
Such a lovely song and such scattered lyrics.

Taxi-Taxi lyrics are also not natural constructions. Just a Mehboob or
PK Mishra type of work during their initial days.

Whatever.

My view is that Ashutosh is not really a song-music person. He might
have good ear for music but he doesn't have imagination enough to give
good treatment to songs.

All songs of Lagaan/ Swadesh were sort of fit in the movie. There was no
special scene, no great visuals, no imagination at all. All routine
scenes, all daily life situations. Just on the run.

At most, a situation was created for the Kailash Kher song in Swades,
but how shabbily it was patched in.

So, I think it is no loss for ARR if Ashutosh goes away. It was
Ashutosh's films that were benefitting from ARR's music, the films
themselves didn't add to the beauty of ARR's songs.

Ashutosh is not a 1% of Mani or Shankar when it comes to songs
picturization.

Of course, a film getting hit makes the music reach more persons, there
is no denial of that.

And, if ARR feels comfortable with Ashutosh and becomes more creative
giving his better ones, then of course, it is a loss for us if Ashutosh

And, if ARR feels comfortable with Ashutosh and becomes more creative
giving his better ones, then of course, it is a loss for us if Ashutosh
breaks away.

I didn't mention JA because the movie went of a totally different track

Though JANNAT is the biggest hit of the year so far, it is just a matter of
time before Aamir Khan's Imran-Genelia starrer, JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA takes
away the crown from it. The film continued its rock, rather boulder steady
run even in its second week, with hardly any fall!

While the media (as usual) is focusing its attention on the glamorous names
associated with JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA, the captain of the ship, the humble
Abbas Tyrewala is maintaining a low profile. Of course as expected, the
gossip mills are concocting up their own stories. So, what's the deal?

Just to get the actual picture we caught up with the versatile Abbas
Tyrewala and asked him why he is not hogging the limelight in the wake of
the super success of JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA, as is the done thing in
Bollywood? And this is what Abbas had to say, "See, I am happy that JTYJN is
turning out to be a big success but I am not over the top/moon. I don't
think that I have made a landmark film or anything but the biggest
satisfaction is that my faith in the subject has been accepted and endorsed
by the audience.'

Well, to get the full text of our exclusive conversation with Abbas and also
the actual news regarding his plans for his next directorial venture, please
await our interview with him soon!

There's the child version of "Jaage Hain" from Guru as well. I love

this one :) Though it's not found in the CD.

I think there's Aditya Narayan again in the Kahin Aag Lage song from

Taal, where he sings the part "Jungle main koyal bole..."

And isn't it a child's voice in the beginning of the title song of

Love you Hamesha that goes "Hawa chal pari... Ghata Chhaa Gayi..."??

I dont know if am correct but towards the end of "I'm sorry" from One

Two Ka Four, there's the part meant for the film's children's playback

that goes "That's ok, that's ok, jaane do"

But definitely Yeh Taara Woh Taara is the best among the lot.

Karan (Mauritius)

*Which amongst your forthcoming songs are potential hits?*
I have an interesting song Marjaani in Billoo Barber which is written by
Gulzarsaab. I have sung two songs for Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra's Rab
Ne Bana Di Jodi. There's this AR Rahman song for Airtel. It's an emotional
but danceable number in Elvis style for a Hollywood production. I am
composing for Rajkumar Santoshi's Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhiya.

[arr] Rahman reveals Marmayogi secrets

2008-07-18 Thread rahmanfever
Rahman reveals Marmayogi secrets
IR Bureau, July 18, 2008:

Marmayogi, the immediate mega venture of Kamal Hassan after Dasavatharam
will have more number of songs, says A R Rahman.

The music maestro, who is joining hands with the versatile actor after a
gap has said in an interview that Kamal has demanded more songs for the
film, as the script has ample scope for music.

To a question on Kamal's reported remarks that movies should be made
without songs, Rahman said, `I don't think so. If it is the
case, then why Kamal should ask more numbers from me for Marmayogi.'

In Vairamuthu Neram today,

" Maniratnam asked Rahman to set the tune of the love song ( Pudhu vellai
Mazhai from ROJA ) to be like that of in Kashmir, and wanted the tune of the
song also to be chilling. Neither me nor A.R. Rahman could understand that..
How can the tune become chilling ?. Maniratnam wanted it to be like , a
chilling type, even when the song is heard. Nothing could be understood. After
hearing to many tunes, finally, he composed a tune in Kanada raga. That is "
Pudhu Vellai Mazhai song tune. When you hear the tune itself, it would be like
that of a chilling nature. The sweeetness of the tune itself is like that. The
uniqueness of the tune is the same. Maniratnam wanted me to write lyrics which
will chill out . Initially, I wrote the lyrics like ,

" Idhu Kashmirama, Ingu Kargalama. Yendhan Kovil Pura, indha kulir thangumaaa".
The song was considered to be excellent. Rahman liked it, and Maniratnam also
praised it. After everyone praised, Maniratnam told, that for this tune, the
lyrics cannot become more better. But, lets not have it like this.. I asked, "
Why ?".

Maniratnam replied, " I am going to show Kashmir on the screen. Why are you
also reinstating on Kashmir by way of the lyrics. ?. Suppose, I lose the
opportunity to shoot the scenes in Kashmir, and take it in Ooty, then wont it
be a disgrace if the lyrics state that its Kashmir ? . Hence, Pls write it in
such a manner, that the lyrics are written in such a way, that no one knows,
where its is shot from.  I got mesmerised, when I wrote the lyrics for the
song, " Ilaya Nila poyigirudhu ( Illaarayaja 's composition ) ". I have
wondered myself, if Tamil Language could be handled in such a fashion..
Maniratnam wanted such a song for this situation.

Then came, Pudhu vellai Mazhai Ingu poyigindradhu. .. After the song was
picturised, could I realise, the justification behind Maniratnam asking me for
such lyrics.

For a film by name Pudiya Mugam, Dir Suresh Menon was starting towards Sri
Lanka. He wanted a song immediately to Rahman. A. R. Rahman told him, to go to
Lanka, and and that he would compose it and send it to him. Suresh Menon was
telling that if the song wasnt there, there would be no shooting. Then, Rahman
looked at me, and asked me if I had some song in my store. I told him,
yes... I have been waiting for 12 years with the lyrics of a song.. I have been
waiting for this opportunity. I gave the lyrics immediately, and within 2 hrs,
Rahman composed the music for the lyrics. , and by the next day, it was sent to
Sri Lanka. That song is " Kannukku Mai Azagu ".

On the reuqest of hundreds of people on Aamir Khan's blog, they have
decided to add the Jaane Tu.. song to the film. As the link says about
70% people suggested to add the song. I am really really really happy,
as Jaane Tu.. (Runa version) is my most favorite song from the album
and I was highly disappointed to not to find it in the film. Kudos to
Aamir for considering fans for this decision.

This is for arvind. nothing personal but it seems that you are
trying to fleece the group members . this is not an auction site. we are Rahman
fans and come together to share our feelings about the music of Rahman as well
as keep ourselves updated about the happenings in this regard. If you really
want to sell your stuff why dont you put them up for auction in those sites.

[arr] Bhoothnath bg-bababg-ekamevadhvitheeyam[semi-arr)

2008-07-18 Thread undisputed_jithin2002
Guys this is just an observation.Has any one of you seen
Bhoothnath,There in most of the parts in the first part of the movie
(before interval)..the bg which is being played is the ekamevitheeyam
theme from baba. This particular theme is played whenever the spookiness
surrounding bhoothnath and his bunglow is to be highlighted. The bg was
by salim sulaiman(or vishal; shekhar not quite sure).

the ekamevadhitheeyam theme is actually inspired from the ennio
morricone score from the movie the untouchables(itwofs).i clearly state
that i am not saying rahmans vesion is a copy of the original.Rahmans
version is just mildly inspired which is clear on hearing. The theme
played in the movie(bhoothnath) is more resembling to rahmans baba
version.anybody whos seen the movie pls comment.

This is for arvind. nothing personal but it seems that you are trying to fleece
the group members . this is not an auction site. we are Rahman fans and come
together to share our feelings about the music of Rahman as well as keep
ourselves updated about the happenings in this regard. If you really want to
sell your stuff why dont you put them up for auction in those sites.

Re: [arr] Attn Gops / Vijay /Vithur : Child artist who worked for A R Rahman

2008-07-18 Thread Vikash Beelatoo

2008-07-18 Thread Vikash Beelatoo
No one really has this particular song???

And sorry, it was not Vithur, but some other guy in the Orkut
Community. But Vithur, if you have it, please share it. I guess it
must not have been commercialised. But I read a post where it says
that it was telecasted on TV. So someone might have ripped off the
music from the video I guess. Where is that someone??

And yeah, some time back I read a message here that at KM Music
Conservatory, there's a modified version of the "Pray for me brother"
song as ringtone for all phones over there. Does anyone have it?

Thanks and regards,

completely different style of ARR music. Fabulous songs and equally great
lyrics. Dont know whether the CDs are still available for more people to

[arr] Sakarakatti: awesome songs, but lyrics a big let down

2008-07-18 Thread badrie
Am sure there are many here who will not agree with me, but this is
not against ARR... this is against all those lyricists who let him down.

Every tune in S'katti is so different and ARR has consciously given a
lot of scope for the lyrics to be heard very well. But I dont think
the lyricists have done justice to their part.

The fillers in songs like Elay..."mosa mosanu valanthom.." I cant
believe they got into the song, what the hell were they thinking. For
most songs there is no rhyme in the lyrics...I can respect ARR for
giving the lyricists freedom to express themselves, but I think he has
to be more stern with them to bring out essence and elegance in songs.
Probably the director is at fault too, u dont see this happng in a
Mani or Shankar movie.

The song Chinnamma is a gem if you can ignore the looong stress on
"ummma umma" in one of the lines in between. Once again another lousy
filler..

Had to vent out my frustration on the lyricists, they need to learn
from veterans like Vaali and V'muthu.

Re: [arr] Yeeely Song.. Corss - Link Violin Interludes Lifted!

2008-07-18 Thread Arijit Debnath
just listened to the song today... u r absolutely right...without the violin
the song was too good... but that Irish folk added a different dimension to
the song..

And its not any sample its a very old Irish folk song... there is no
problem if someone is inspired by that... till date thousands of musicians
were inspired by the song...

Re: [arr] Jaane Tu.. song added to the film

2008-07-18 Thread Aravind AM
Hi,

I watched the film again yesterday evening... and i got a pleasant surprise in
the form of Runa's version of Jaane Tu song!!

It was picturised well, and lots of thought and effort must've been gone into
its making!
donno how they chose to chop it off, in the first place!!!

Re: [arr] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rank AR.Rahman on celeberity list DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2008-07-18 Thread Vinayakam Murugan
To each his own, Mr Ram.

I have very less regard for web polls as it can be easily rigged. Also
"fans" of all MDs are aware of the rigging process. So the authenticity is
in question.

We all know and believe that ARR's music is amazing. Does it need to be
certified or authenticated by some external agency?

Warm Regards
