Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessing the toolbar
This tool is for Microsoft Word! It is a plug-in for it! Therefore I cannot view it in the start menu or anything like that! No their is no scripts for this program! Jose Lomeli Email: joselomel...@lavabit.com Website: http://all4webs.com/q/2/jlomeli9393 - Original Message - From: "john R. Vaughn" Jose, I do not know about this program but, I am assuming that this is not a program that Jaws has some scripts developed for. you can check this by using insert key plus letter Q to see if you hear jaws say default, then there are no jaws scripts. If jaws announces the name of the program, then that would mean jaws has some scripts it is using for the program and so you can check jaws help for the program and helpful hints or keyboard shortcuts. Usually if there is a tool bar, the jaws command insert key plus F8 might invoke a tool bar.But you may still be able to use the program using the jaws cursor to help you find out about the program and if there might be tool bars or a menue bar and short cut keys. I would use the jaws cursor and look around the top of the page to see if you have some tool bar or menue bar at the top of the page. You could try using the alt key to see if it brings up a menue bar so you can arrow around and see if there are some keyboard commands to invoke actions. You might find the programs help file and read it using the jaws cursor. Hope these ideas might help you try and figure this all out. good luck. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jose Lomeli Sent: Sunday, August 15, 2010 12:37 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Accessing the toolbar Hello; Listers, Ok here is the deal. Back to the ResearchIt lookup of NFL scores. It seems everybody has preseason schedules screwed up. I thought the Eagles were playing the New York Giants, because that was what was in the TV listings. ESPN had several of the games wrong until at least half time. Now they correctly show the Eagles playing the New York Jets and even have the score right. Sorry, this is definitely not a FS issue! Also with prev versions I haven't gotten to check it on this one yet but in the to field jaws would say instead of the list of emails. Troy - Original Message - From: "CrisMunoz54" Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] How is JAWS 12 Public Beta working out for users? Overall it seems more stable as far as being an initial beta than other upgrades. No real major issues to speak of so far. I am however noticing some things, such as: 1. For whatever reason, in Google Reader via IE8, Jaws does feel a bit sluggish and unresponsive at times. Silence, slow to respond to commands, randomly being placed on other parts of the page, having to tab or shift tab to get focus back, etc. I don't find this to be the case when in Firefox though. It doesn't stop me from getting around Google Reader all together, but it is affecting my navigation. I don't' have this amount of trouble when using JFW 11 and IE8. 2. Again, in Google Reader, but this time from within Firefox, when clickin on a particular subscription feed or by doing a simple search from within the overall page and navegating down the various entries using the h key for headings, Jaws will read a bunch of garbled link text instead of that particular heading title. I've found that when going in reverse, (shift+h instead of just h) Jaws reads the entry titles perfectly fine. This isn't an issue in IE8 at all. I had reported this glitch in prior releases, but it's still present in version 12. 3. Jaws seems to have a lot of trouble with Firefox webpages that have a lot of links. When encountering a page with hundreds either by visiting a blog posting with hundreds of responces or if I'm searching for an item to buy and want all results shown on one page or again, if I'm in Google Reader and press the navigation button to have all my subscriptions appear (I have over 240 rss feeds for example(, JFW will become quite unresponsive and at times crash on me. Many times I almost have to step away from my machine since Jaws wont' even speak if I do an alt+tab to go to another app. This is especially an issue for me as I help my wife with her eBay store and when going into the seller's page, it takes forever for Jaws to talk. That is if I'm in fact lucky and JFW doesn't crash all together. I don't have this problem in IE8. I really started noticing this issue with JFW 11 and still with version 12. 4. I had reported a problem when upgrading from JFW 10 to 11 with all the information in my e-mails through Outlook 2003 (from, subject, date etc) being spoken twice when arrowing up and down the list view. I was able to reproduce this problem with the escalations department (Inquiry Number: 197907), but never got a solution to it. The same problem is present in version 12. I like the way how the configuration manager has been cleaned up and Firefox feels generally crisper than in versions past. Google Voice seems to be a lot cleaner through Mozilla than with IE. Not too easy if at all when trying to make calls through the gmail page itself though. I I appreciate the request for feedback and hope my comments have helped in some way. Thanks, Cris -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-user

I gotta say that too dipped the recording quality noticeably and tended to add distortion especially at the high pitch/volume portions of the original. Besides that way is so much more cumbersome as u gotta have your PC, the BS and the 3.5mm-3.5mm cord. Re: [JAWS-Users] Thanks to Chris H- Total Recorder is awesome
And how much would it cost to register it? In dollars not pounds! Have a play about with those, accessible with the tab key, and see what you can come up with. As for the message about the unregistered version, this is normal and is reminding you what you will experience in the unregistered version. After all they don't want you to get away with using it for free without the noise, but at the same time they like to warn you in case you or anyone else hears a very loud random sound when playing back the recording. So what they do is remind you each time you start the program. Now, once you have registered this message will not pop up again because, well, there will be no random sounds in any of your recordings. Hope this helps. The Daisy file is in a zip file but will be recognized by Humanware Companion and by FS Reader. I certainly didn't cover all features and functions of Hotmail, but I tried to cover most of the main topics. Here are the message and links: I noticed your message posted by Chris Hallsworth to the JAWS users group a couple of days ago about using Hotmail with JAWS. I thought you might be interested in checking out a document I put together in the last few days about using Hotmail. It is available as a Word 2007 document and as a Daisy file that can be played on a Victor Stream, FS Reader or other Daisy readers. I can also save it and send it to you in a format that will open in earlier versions of Word if you want it in a .doc format. Links for the Word 2007 document and for the zip file that will work in a Daisy reader are shown below. You can browse the document by using links, bookmarks, headings, etc. The zip file contains the format of the document that will work with a Daisy reader. You can go to specific page numbers, browse by levels including by headings, page numbers or phrases, and you can read the text as a document with FS Reader or other Daisy readers that let you use that feature. The first link is to the Word 2007 document and the second link is to the file that can be used in Daisy readers. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3951772/Using%20Hotmail%20with%20JAWS.doc x http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3951772/Using%20Hotmail%20with%20JAWS.zip Take care. Avast will let you know when it has finished reparing avast. You should reboot your computer to let the changes take effect. I don't know what the SA "mouse over" command is, but still...it works. The format kind of reminds me of AmazonMP3, which is fine. Also, I don't know why the library won't read if it has been upgraded previously--perhaps because the file contains "upgraded" data? On 9/17/09, Sarah anson wrote: Hi, Yes, I have tried that. Sarah A. - Original Message - From: "Donald Marang" I am just getting started with iTunes. Even version 8.2.1 seems hard to get it to do what I want to do at this point. I noticed that you mention that you should be able to get a preview in the store by performing a mouseover. When JAWS is focused on a song in the store, have you attempted the "activate mouseover" keystroke? On a desktop keyboard, that would be the Control + Insert + NumPad Enter. I am not sure how this differs from hovering the mouse over an object by routing the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor with the Insert + NumPad Minus. I would try both. Don Marang - Original Message - From: "Sarah anson" I tried the system access. It seems to be working exactly the same as jaws when I am browsing the itunes store. However, Microsoft and companies like Freedom Scientific and GW Micro have tended to work more closely together than Apple and the previous developers of screen readers for Apple computers. When the last of these third party developers announced that it would no longer be developing or upgrading its screen reading program, Apple needed to address the void that would be created. It needed to do so, because of increasing criticism of its hands off policy and because it needed to have its products accessible to meet contracting requirements for many governemental entities. At least in part, that is why Apple undertook development of VoiceOver. Before the development of VoiceOver, Apple wanted to attract those who used Windows to its Ipod products. [JAWS-Users] Ring Tone maker and other programs!
Dear All, In this list. I have a recommendation about these so called programs! I was the same as some people, downloading programs that were for music or other things. This is not a good thing to do! Don't just download everything that is free or may sound cool to you! I should say that is free/cool! I use to do this until I've ran in to a virus that really did some damage to my computer! I had to reinstall my computer! At that time I didn't know anything about Anti Viruses or Anti Spy-ware programs! That is why I don't download anything for free or that I don't trust! What I do is look on the internet and if its free I ask the lists if they hurd of it before and if they did and if it is safe then I will download it other wise I won't! So what I am trying to say here is for those people who don't have an Anti Virus run to the computer stores and get an Anti Virus! Or their are some free ones! Links will follow. http://www.avast.com http://www.grisoft.com The first one is for Avast anti virus and the second one is for AVG anti virus. Both of them are good but I like Avast better then AVG. While I can not speak to every website, programs found at: www.blind-computing.com and www.jaws-users.com have been tested not only for compatibility with Jaws, but also scanned for viruses etc. Keep in mind, that security software will sometimes render false positives, that is why it is recommended to never run a program from it's destination, but, instead, download and scan the file first. You can use some reputable on-line scanners to double-check a file for viruses. HTH, Rick Justice - Original Message - From: "Albert Cutolo" Subject: [JAWS-Users] Question on uninstalling outlook express 6,and applications running office 2003. Good morning everyone. I have office 2003 installed on my desktop computer, as well as jaws 10 with windows xp home addition with all available service packs. My question here is , if I were to uninstall office 2003 and replace it with office 2007, and replace my current version of outlook express 6 with the newer version of outlook express that comes with office 2007, would I then have to completely uninstall office 2003 first, before installing office 2007? I'm asking this, because my current version of outlook express 6, has, and is giving me real problems here that I can't seem too resolve nor do I have an opportunity too have a technician that I can call on to help me fix these problems that I am having with my current version of outlook express 6. BTW, I think silverlight is required to be able to listen to audio content for NBA basketball games. Good afternoon everyone, I am considering switching from Verizon's Dsl service, too road runner from time Warner cable. If I do this, is there any service or program that anyone knows of that will automatically switch your email address from one provider too another? I've heard of something called switch that might be able too acomplish this, but I don't know how good or reliable it is, and I don't really want to go through the process of un subscribing, and resubscribing, too the three lists that I'm already subscribed too. I'd rather have all of my services like internet, telephone, and television all on one bill, instead of receiving two bills fore each of these services. I have the free version on my PC and when I do a scan, it gives me a list of items to be repaired. However, it seems that we cannot do a repair unless we purchase the pro version. Is this correct?
