time to reinstall everything, but it's usually more reliable,

Hmm, in the windows world, there was a java access bridge that
interfaced between Windows accessability and Java Swing. Is there
anything like that for the Mac? I wonder how hard it would be to port.

hard drive on your windows box. Specific steps vary depending on what
flavor of OSX you are on. In the end, from your windows box you map a
network drive and use \\your_mac_ip_address\your_mac_login_shortname as

move to the status menu bar. In VoiceOver, pressing VO-M (Control-
Option-M) once takes you to the application menu bar, pressing VO-M

I generally do the upgrade. Unless you're having problems with the
current system you should be fine doing the upgrade. On the Mac, user
files are kept in one place so changing out the system has less chance
of stepping on something.

If you are using default settings, you can select the MP3 files, press
VO-Shift-M, and choose Create AAC version. Then rename the extensions
from m4a to m4b. It would probably be simpler, though to do the
following:
1. Select the files in the audiobook.
2. Press Command-I to ope

Don't get Eudora or Firefox. What you need is Thunderbird to do the
importing.
If you are a bookshare subscriber, David Pogue's book, Switching to
the Mac: The Missing Manual is available there, and it walks you
through the whole process.
