You might try manually clearing the cache before rescanning. I'm a Linux user so can tell you where to find it on that system, but XP should also have one floating around somewhere. Deleting the old cache has periodically been necessary when I've upgraded SBS/LMS. ---

The obvious next thing to try is a different flash drive. If the Touch can read the other drive that would help establish that the Touch is probably OK and there is something flaky about the first flash drive. -- mlsstl

he Touch stand alone server three solid tries with two different external USB drives and never did get satisfactory results. If I'd bought the Touch solely for use in that capacity, I'd be very disappointed - that option is way too erratic for me.
