My SB Touch has been plugging along for many years now, feeding its
SP/DIF output to my Bel Canto C5i.
I was recently rearranging things and decided to try a TOSLINK cable
instead, but only got dead silence. I tried two different cables and
both optical inputs on the amp. The optical cables and
I use Squeeze Commander on both my HTC Android phone and Kindle Fire.
Both work great but the Kindle is my favorite for selecting music and
controlling playback.

I bought my first Touch when they were first released in April 2010 or 2
1/2 years ago. It has been plugged in 24/7 since and works perfectly.
Just reporting in -- my Touch from Amazon arrived this afternoon. The
box was completely sealed and showed no signs of having been previously
opened. The Touch itself was pristine. It started up just fine, updated
itself, then connected to the LMS and played fine.

can only say that I've been running 7.7.2 (Linux version) on a Vortexbox
with absolutely no issues. I've got a Touch, SB3 and a Radio.

user so can tell you where to find it on that system, but XP should also
have one floating around somewhere. Deleting the old cache has
periodically been necessary when I've upgraded SBS/LMS.

Check your firewall settings in Ubuntu. It needs to be open for traffic
on ports 9000 (tcp) and 3483 (tcp & udp). You should be able to restrict
this to your loca

switched routers recently I had to manually change the statics from
192.168.2.X to 192.168.1.X.
And I believe the port that Squeezeboxserver needs to have open is
3483, both TCP and UDP.
I'm not a Mac person, so those are pretty generic thoughts.

I don't have very much 24/96 material, but what I do have plays fine
from either the server or a flash drive.
The obvious next thing to try is a different flash drive. If the Touch
can read the other drive that would help establish that the Touch is
probably OK and there is something flaky about the first flash drive.
