Whom do u want me to name, Shankar-Eshaan-Loy, Mithoon, Pritam, Salim-Sulaiman, Amit Trivedi and the list is endless. In Tamil, look at what Yuvan does and in Telugu look at Mickey J Meyer. All the above mentioned music directors are very promising. They never let the fan's expectations down. They might not have got Oscars, but they respect a fan. In any industry, this is the rule, either you give your best or just move out. It is high time that ARR wakes up. Instead of focussing on Twitter, iPad, or Social networking sites and letting down great directors like Mani Rathnam, take a break and come back to who you really are. Look at Puli, what a pathetic music. How do I go around to my non- telugu fans and say that this is the music I listen to and say I am a proud ARR fan. It just makes me rethink if I should be proud. Vijay is Telugu Thanks Vijay Sent from my iPhone On 12-Jul-2010, at 18:28, Aakarsh aakarsh...@yahoo.com wrote: I think ARR is oblivious about it. Or if he is aware and hoped for 'something different' with words axed like that, then honestly, I think it doesn't cut much with listeners. Yes, I too never understood 'Muvval Muvval' part in Sivaji. I understand if a composer has a penchant for the sound of the lyrics instead of the meaning or the actual lyrics. But it would be nice if that is applied to a word that is new or slang word. Like 'Masakkali'. But it would rob the beauty of language, when lyrics are axed, just to make them sound musically good. Because, how can incomplete words ever sound musical? Past, Present or Future, be it anytime - A composer can really touch people's hearts provided his music has good lyrics. it is understandable that language is a problem for ARR but like I said, the lyric writer or language coach for singers should help ARR and tell him that something is not sounding right. I would like to share a small anecdote, narrated by Gulzar. Composer R.D.Burman too was fond of sound of words rather than their meanings. Whenever he liked the sound of any word, he used to pick that word and played around and made tunes out of that. While composing the songs of Gulzar's film Aandhi, when RD came across the word Nasheman, he loved it and insisted on using it. He didnt know the meaning and remarked Yeh Nasheman kaunsa Shehar Hai yaar. Gulzar used it as Tinkon Ke Nasheman tak, is mod se jaathe hai. In short, it would be even more wonderful of sound of the words are given equal priority with diction, pronunciation and meaning. My all time favourite was Late Rajasri, who wrote lyrics for initial albums of ARR. He wrote them in such a way that we never felt that they were dubbed films. So much of lyrical value and depth in thought, that I never wanted a tamil version of Roja or Donga Donga. To: arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com Date: Monday, July 12, 2010, 5:43 AM Honestly, the language is barely understandable in most of the songs (except for Nammakame). Pronunciation is flung out of the window. Come to think of it, there is not even a single singer in the album, whose mother tongue is Telugu. So I guess language issues and pronunciation issues are bound to happen. The singers might be talented (Vijay Prakash or Shreya), but unless they have a language coach, they cant get the diction right. The lyrics as such are not comprehend-able. Even when some lines are comprehend-able, they rendition went for a toss. Sample these: 1. Noti Muthyaal Jaarneeyakey - It should have been Noti Muthyaalu Jaaraneeyakey. The way it was sung - Muthyaal or jaarneeyakey or Navvrathnaal (it should have been Navvu ratnaalu).. it sounds totally accentized/angliciz ed. Anyone who understands Telugu will cringe and it obstructs the enjoyment of the song. 2. Maa Te-Lu-Gu Tha-lli-keee - I was really uncomfortable with the way it was broken. Otherwise, I tried hard to understand the lyrics. Jaaved Ali also seemed like a totally wrong choice for that song. His diction was totally un-telugu. Among all singers, I think only Chitra knows Telugu (though she is from Kerala...), out of experience. Thats quite sad, because it might be an ARR album, but ultimately, it is a Telugu film and One would like to understand what is being sung. To sum up, I wish this album came in Tamil(because I dont understand Tamil). Because It is easy to listen to a language that we cannot understand, than to listen to a language we know and still cant follow or rather cringe at the butchering of the language with accents, robbing the whole nativity that is essential. The Narendra Modi news was incorrect - Watch out for more details .. V On Fri, Apr 30, 2010 at 10:42 AM, V S Rawat vsra...@gmail.com wrote: 18 years fan-hood of ARR does have its few points of discord. One recent one had meet my utter condemnation of Chiggy-wiggy. Since then, it has not even a full year, and ARR has given us Kata Kata. And Kata Kata has: -- Chhoto koi devar hoy to chhaati laagiye (if there is any younger brother of the husband, keep him close to your heart like your own son) Aur saas sasur ke aadar keeje paanye laagiye e e e (and pay respect to father and mother of the husband, touch their feet) Re jaith jaithani samjhaave to maathe raakhije re (if elder brother of husband and his wife teaches something, etch that in your mind) Aur nandan ki saheli jaisi saath raakhiye re, o chori sun, saath raakhijo ra (and keep the sisters of husband with you like your friends, listen, o girl, keep them with you) -- A complete contrast the above has with chiggy-wiggy. Chiggy-wiggy was demeaning women, presenting them as brainless objects to be won over by cheap, streetsmart tactics of males for their pleasure, all this going contrary to the things that ARR stands for. Kata Kata has suggetions/ instructions/ tips/ prompts that every Indian mother tells her Indian daughter on wedding when the daughter goes to a new home for the first time - the home of her husband. It is holding the key how to keep the family together, instead of breaking the bonds and snatching the husband from him family and establishing a personal home for herself. I can feel every Indian buzurg (elder men and women) nodding their head in deep-felt approval on hearing it. It is nothing new, they themselves have been told the same at their own wedding, and they themselves have told the same to their sons and daughters at their weddings. It is pure indianness. And it covers so many aspects of Indian marriages that it is like an audio-visual summary of what all happens in Indian marriages. groom's male friends are teasing the groom, calling him a goat getting sacrificed, brides' female friends are teasing the groom giving him funde to do physical exercise to build his body, ladies of the bride's family are listing the great qualities of their daughter (paro se bhi halki hai) while males of groom's side teasing their bhabhi (khatti hai), ladies of bride's family are pleading to the groom to safeguard and treat the bride with respect (bohari lagaiyyo na), pandit ji is having his priorities kanya ko bulaao, muhurt nikla ja raha hai, ladies of bride's family are abusing and mocking the groom calling him of black complexion by negation, comparing him to crow, in hindi belt there is a reallife ceremony called gali dena (abusing) when ladies of bride's family do use demeaning words in songs to mock at groom and his family. Kudos to ARR and Gulzar saab for creating a song that is going to be National Matrimonial Anthem. It is going to be played at every marriage hundreds of times, and why not, it have elements for every occasion in an Indian marriage. This song is what ARR himself personifies unlike chiggy-wiggy. ARR will be proud to be the creator of this song unlike chiggy-wiggy. Hope comparing Kata Kata with chiggy-wiggy will make the contrast clear to you. Kata Kata redeems Indian values that were inadvertently cheapened by Chiggy-Wiggy -- Related issue: I wonder what is in the song that Narendra Modi disapproved for Gujarat. Kata Kata shows that ARR has all the capabilities to come with a song full of Indianness, so ARR could come with a song full of Gujarat-ness. Even Kata Kata itself represents gujarat wedding like any Indian wedding. Instead of outright rejecting a song, they should have told ARR individual elements that they approve and disapprove of in the song, and let him modify according to the feedback. It would have culminated into a great song for Gujarat and a treat for music lovers. Sad that Narendra Modi acted so high-handedly. -- Rawat

[arr] Re: Raavan songs - not impressing on intial hearing..
Hi, First of all we should think about the movie theme and then only we can expect the songs for the film. Even though its not od Epic or Historic film, its base line is something related to the epic Ramayan and that too the title itself says its about the demon king Ravans side of story. A.R.Rahman gives the music Only for the film, and the film is not being made for his music. In that view you cant expect the music of ravan and sita playing around trees kind of songs.I really enjoys the songs with Ravans mind and the more earthy songs with tribal touch. If you want peppy songs or hip hop songs try to listen the films with that genre. This is my personnal openion about this film and its songs. Heard the songs about 4 times with the Original CD of Raavan today. Pretty much disappointed with the songs (Except Beera and Khillie re), all other songs have heavy beats, lot of variations in singing, no simple nature etc. There is not 1 song which is instantly catchable/likable. May be I will like it with more hearings. Very Average score by ARR for a Mani movie. Expected a lot out of this. This may be the weakest of all ARR-Mani (weaker than Guru) combos. - Sathya

Maybe his innocence and mannerisms make his absolutely rock when he tells something funny. I think it is time someone does an interview cum jam session with him. All standard questions should be banned. He should have a keyboard and jam a bit and maybe the interviewer should only talk about interesting and funny instances that happen while he composes..ofcourse the interviewer should have a music background and should know boss wellto bring out the flavor... What think group ? Just my fantasy ? One such instance I heard Prasoon Joshi narrate in an interview. It seems they were recording for RDB, Prasoon flew into Chennai and spent the whole night at ARR's studio. Morning he took a cab and was driving to the airport to get back, when ARR calls him. ARR is still looking for a word it seems to fit into Khalbali song. Prasoon who is awake the whole night tells him I will get back to you. ARR refuses to let him go it seems, and then Prasoon who is irritated by now says AR, tu bahut ZIDDI hain yaar. ARR promptly thanks him and hangs up it seems...and thats how the word ziddi landed up in the song khalbali. The best part of the whole concert was its songs selection. Simply mind-blowing. The classic hits like: Chiku bukku railae(Suresh Peters, Benny, hari Charan), Pettai rap(Suresh, Benny), Endrendrum Punnagai(Timothy Madhurkar, Srinivas, Benny, Naresh, Rap by pravin mani), Minasaara kanna(Srinivas and Swetha Mohan), Netru Ilaadha Maatram(Sujatha) , Hello Mister Edhirkatchi( Swetha Mohan), Veerapandi Kotayillae, Humma Humma, Taxi Taxi, Paatshaala, Roobaro, (naresh Iyer) Masakali(Benny) Unplugged of Munbe va(Swetha and Naresh), Aaromalae(Alphonse) , Omana Pennae(Swetha n Benny), Chinna Chinna aasai(Swetha Mohan), Pudhu Vellai mazhai(Sujatha) , Uyirae(Srinivas) , Anjali Anjali(Haricharan) Other songs were Jumabalaka from En swasakatrae, Enna solla pogiraay(Haricharan ), Thilaana Thilaana, Shakalaka baby by Suvi Suresh, Pappu cant dance saala, Mustafaa. Jai ho, Chaiya chaiya and Ramta jogi by sukhvinder sing. This is all i can remember. But there were some more. Please do add to it. The list, as you can see, was superb. Add to that the perfect singers and the musicians. Suresh peters was on fire with the drums giving out the perfect rhythm for every song and also singing whilst drumming(:-O) during many occasions. Nikhil was perfect with the Flute and Saxaphone. Sanjeev was at his usual best with the guitars and the strings section was mesmerising with 6 violinists. It was a perfect concert. Enjoyed it a lot. And for me, the pick of the concert was Swetha Mohan. She was just perfect with every song she rendered, just like her mom. Just mind blowing. Especially the Minsaara kanna and Hello mister edhirkatchi were beyond words to explain. Alphonse was a man with very little words. But his voice speaks a lot. We spoke to him about the groups and he was really happy about our response and said he keeps track of every AR related news through here. :) Thanks to Pravin mani and his wonderful team for organising such a great concert. :) Thanks and regards, Rakesh. --- In arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com, Vithur vith...@... wrote: 1. Re: [arr] Rahman Sir The Man Of The Decade! 2000 - 2009 | A Revisit!!
: The Rising (Hindi) -- Another period film which proved that ARR is the most chosen favorite for the period flicks! Again all efforts made by ARR went in vain, since neither the movie nor the songs were accepted by the people! But performance wise, ARR did magic with Mujras and Qawwalis for this lose script! 3) Anbae Aaruyire/ Ah Aah (Tamil) -- After New, SJ Surya and ARR united again for this flick which again made news for all the wrong reasons! ARR created a furore in the musical department, but the film's debacle harmed the music score ! 4)Water (Hindi/ English) -- Another internationally acclaimed album by ARR which showcaused his talent in handling sensitive subject. Deepa Mehta once again proved that her team up with ARR is unarguably a classy best. The soundtracks proved the classical expertise of seasoned singers Sadhana Sargam and Sukhwinder Singh! -- ARR almost had a chance of winning the Academy Awards when his Chanchan was nominated for the Best Original Song! 2006  1) Rang De Basanti (Hindi) -- In came RDB, and ARR silenced all critics who were going over the board claiming ARR has lost his touch! A massive hit soundtracks backed with a rock strong script made RDB a classic wonder! -- ARR swept away accolades and awards such as     Filmfare Award for the Best Music Direction     GIFA Award for the Best Music Direction     IIFA Award for the Best Music Direction     Star Screen Award for the Best Background Music     Zee Cine Award for the Best Music Direction     Planet Bollywood's People's Choice Best Music and Best Background Music Awards 2) Sillunu Oru Kadhal (Tamil) -- ARR bounced back to the kollywood music generating a teenage love anthem thorugh the soundtracks of this flick! Though the movie was not wery widely accepted, the audio tracks created a rage across the nation! -- ARR won Filmfare South Award for Best Music Direction     3) Varalaaru (Tamil) -- It was a great year for ARR with back to back superhits. Varalaaru created a history in both music and script! A perfect blend of classical, folk, Melody and peppy songs made all masala lovers go bersek and love them! -- ARR won an unsual award at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards for the best music direction 4)The Lord Of The Rings Musical (English) -- A Prestigious project for ARR which propelled his growth in the western cinema! The audio sales were super impressive and ARR became a household name across the west. 5) Guru (Hindi) -- The Guru of Movie makers and the Guru of Music directors united again for this big blockbuster roping in the Bachchan clan in the lead roles. The most versatile album of the year made Rahman stand all among all his contemproaries! -- Yet again, ARR swept accross all the leading awards for both the songs and BGMS for the year!   Filmfare Award for Best Music Direction and Best Background Music   IIFA Award for Best Music Direction and Best Background Music   Star Screen Award for Best Music Direction and Best Background Music   Zee Cine Award for Best Music Direction and Best Background Music   V.Shantaram Award for Best Music 6) Pray For Me Brother (English) -- The album showed the generosity side of Rahman who made a charity song for the street children suffering from diseases. Since it was not commercialized to the greater extent, this work of ARR remains to be hidden for many people! 2007  1)Provoked (English) -- A hollywood production house flick with Aishwarya Rai Bachhan in the lead had many instrumentals composed by ARR. Surprisingly, the music did not make any news and it was moderately received! 2) Sivaji -The Boss (Tamil) -- A grand Mass entry by ARR in Tamil for the year. Owing to the mass subject for Rajinikanth, ARR belted out mass entertainers which was considered as the year's blockbuster album! -- ARR was showered upon the accolades and awards for the album    Filmfare South Awards for the Best Music Direction    Sunfeast Tamil Music Awards for the Best Music Composer of the Year    Star Vijay Award for Best Music Director 3) Elizabeth: The Golden Age (English) -- A Shekar Kapur - ARR combo that made little news both pre and post release! ARR composed only Four tracks sung by himself for the movie! 4) One Love (Multilingual) -- Just to popularize TajMahal, ARR made this album in many languages like Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali. The result was so enormous that many people voted for the Taj and squeezed it into the list of new 7 wonders of the World! 5) Azhagiya Tamil Magan (Tamil)

You have a distinct voice that was very different from what was in vogue then. Did you face initial rejection when you started out? I was rejected outright when I did my first audition for a documentary film. But I consider myself lucky; I have been blessed by god. I’m an original singer and have done well in these 40 years. I wouldn’t say it was easy, but I am a very positive person. I made my limitations my strength and now my career is on an upswing, touchwood! Some singers try to copy you. Do you take that as a compliment? Oh yes! It’s wonderful to see young people not only try to sing like me, but also try to emulate my style of singing. I love it! It’s a great feeling. You started out singing at nightclubs.. . (Interrupting) I still do and I love every bit of singing at nightclubs. But I never had any bad incident. I guess it depends on how you carry yourself. Here I was, in a saree, singing with all my heart. It was and probably will always be the prerogative of some people to come to nightclubs wearing slinky outfits. But you see, I came on and I changed it (smiles). You made the saree and big bindi your trademark style. Who inspired you to follow that style? No one. I wish I could give you some sensational piece of information but I come from a middle class family and it didn’t seem necessary for me to focus on how I looked. Yes, it did matter to me how well turned out I am. But honestly, the sari, the bindi, the gajra… nothing was planned. Earlier, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar or Asha Bhonsle were just voices till the electronic media came into the picture and brought them out. This is not to say they were not wearing nice clothes. But it wasn’t important for any of us to be body-conscious. But I’m happy to see so many youngsters so competitive and body conscious. And much of it can be credited to Bollywood. Is it difficult for you to do playback singing for actresses, because of a heavier voice? (Emphatically) Of course! There’s this pre-conceived notion that songs for the good girls have to be Lata or Asha, and bad girls, me. This kind of notion is especially true for India. I can’t see it changing in terms of playback singing. What do you think of the present Indian pop music scene? Sky is the limit. It’s great to see the way things have changed, making way for technology and electronica in music. The music reality shows on TV are an amazing platform for the youth. However, today’s music lacks the soul. Analog recording had more warmth. But I do believe that change has to come because life is cyclic and everything has to come back to what it was. I’m sure one day, someone might stop and say, “Hey! Let’s get that magic and soul back to the songs.” What do you think composers like Shantanu Moitra, Shankar-Ehsaan- Loy, Himmesh Reshammiya? They are brilliant! They’ve got both classical and western background in music, which is great. Shantanu and Shankar’s teams are wonderful. I don’t know Himmesh so much. But he must have done something wonderful to get people going crazy over him. You have performed before Indira Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Jomo Kenyatta. Any fond memories you recall? When I sang ‘Malaika’ for Jomo Kenyatta, the President of Kenya, he told me that with my kind of voice, I should belong to the African world. I remember that day vividly. Meeting Mandela and Mother Teresa were wonderful experiences too. Any particular composer you’d like to work with? Yes, Shankar-Ehsaan- Loy and AR Rahman once again. What was it like to sing for the Celebrate Bandra Festival? It’s the most magical experience, as a singer, to be on stage. Any artiste should give an arm and leg to be there. It’s also the 40th year of my singing career, so it was special. I wouldn’t say that it was like coming home because I keep going to Mumbai all the time. You grew up in Bombay. Don’t you ever want to come back and settle here? (Earnestly) I love it when I land in Mumbai. I learnt to cook, stitch, live in this city. I miss the buzz, the excitement.. . it’s just something so different. What pains me is that in my time, we were never scarred by religion. Any album you’re working on? I have this album called Kashmir to Kanyakumari coming up. I have sung it in 16 different languages and the album knits the whole of India. I’m going for the premiere of this album to Bangalore, on December 20.http://www.hindusta ntimes.com/ News-Feed/ music/I-was- rejected- because-of- my-voice/ Article1- 483890.aspx -- regards, Vithur The INTERNET

Even if Rahman is not directly involved in the event organisation, being a person on whose name the entire event is staged, he should be made aware of the feedback of the audience / fans. And if the situation is beyond his control, I guess, he should not continue with the present setup and go solo. To be honest, the audience / fans come to listen / see ARR and ARR alone. atleast that's what I and my family did in the Pune concert. If Rahman decides to do simple 1-2 hour impromptu unplugged sessions with chosen few artists and a simple orchestra, no fireworks, no dancing puppets and songs which he and he alone wants to perform, I think that programme will be a stupendous success and will not be a logistical nightmare for any event organiser. And who can know the true worth of GURUJI than his own disciples, the rahmaniacs ? So if Rahman starts a new trend of organising shows with local band or artists / musicians from his fan group, I would wholeheartedly support such a venture. This group has huge talent pool of musicians / singers / sound engineers / remix specialists amongst us, why do we require outsiders ? Have you been to any? No stadium in India can boast of a descent parking facility for ten thousand cars(now if you have a stadium for 50K people you would need it right?). Re: [arr] Did anyone notice the whistling sounds in Dil Se Re, second half?
as per my assumption, arrs first original music watever the language will be amazing since the music will be adjusted little bit with the lyrics. but the reused or dubbed version would have the lyrics which would not fit very properly in the music.thats wat it would be little bit odd. we can find this from rangeela, taal, jodha akbar, doli sajike rahna, gentleman, muthu etc in their respective language. manirathnams films are total exceptions since he would concentrate very much even in dubbed versions.so guru, yava, saathiya has its own mark.other than that, swadesh had a very good lyrics even in dubbed tamil version. some remixed versions of his own songs in hindi like pukar-key sara swadesh- deko na are really good comparing to its original versions.even the originals have a great music, while hearing the remixes we can get totally new experiance. Re: [arr] Revisiting IRUVAR (1997)- A Musical Masterpiece!!!
I beleive this film got some rare global awards, and special international screenings. Since the film revolves around the most powerful people's (M.G.Ramachandran, J.Jayalalitha M.Karunanithi - former and current chief ministers of Tamil Nadu ) personnal life boldly, the film bombed in theatres. But among the film lovers this is one of the master pieces in Tamil film history. As of music again its a masterpiece of A.R.Rahman, and each song depicts resemblence of each decade of tamil film music from 1940 - 1980. the background also is a great one but has some resemblence with BGM of Fire ( also composed by our boss in the same time ). --- On Sun, 19/7/09, Vithur vith...@gmail.com wrote: From: Vithur vith...@gmail.com Subject: Re: [arr] Revisiting IRUVAR (1997)- A Musical Masterpiece!!! I should strongly say that this movie enjoys enormous fan following among the Tamils in the world even to this day.The soundtrack of this movie by the maestro are in much demand . Both Aishwarya Rai and Tabu made their debuts in this movie. But this was Tabu's Tamil Debut only. Kannai Katti --- Hariharan , Chorus A Huge change in the usually till then sober mood singer Hariharan's voice. He has gone wide open with his voice in this song. The chorus form a very integral part in this song's stupendous success. I believe it would be the toughest job for ARR to compose to such an opening song which should make audience feel that they are seeing the great MGR on the celluloid. A very nice mix of melody and peppyness by the maestro which can make any music lover tap their feet and hands. Particularly, Thozha Thozhalalalalla lalaalal. .. lines make everybody shake their bodies...:) Aayirathil Naan Oruvan --- Mano , Chorus Another differently sounding popular singer Mano makes a great attempt in this visually perfect MGR influenced song.! One yearns for more Mano - ARR combo which is dead these days after listening to this song. A great instrumentation and a great dancing skills shown by the debutant Aishwarya Rai. Great picturisation, great lyrics, even more greater composition and song rendition makes this song an anthem of sorts for both the classes and masses. Relish yourselves by the chirpy female chorus singing kukukuku... as Mano delivers second charanam...! ! ARR has this inborn knack of mesmerising all sorts of people which keeps him stay where he is today. Best example is Aayirathil Naan Oruvan. Vennila Vennila --- Asha Bhonsle Haven't captured the Tajmahal during the early dawn and dusk? This song will give you that pleasure visually. Aesthetically shot by the ace cinematographer Santhosh Sivan. I bet nobody has brought the Tajmahal to the viewers, the way Santhosh brings in this seductive song! The legendary bollywood singer Asha Bhonsle comes back to Tamil soundtrack after a huge gap (Previously sung for Ilayaraja sir in 1980's). Not withstanding her Tamil diction, she oozes with oomph through her voice and emotions are high running. And what to say about ARR. The saxophone he belts out makes u float in the musical heaven. Strictly recommended for the bed time listeners. Narumughaiye Narumughaiye --- Unni Krishnan, Bombay Jayashree This song appears as though ARR has created a gem out of Nattai Raagam of Carntic Classical.!! What an impact it brings out is to be only expressed rather mouthed by words..!! Roping in the two classical giants, Unni Krishnan and Bombay Jayashree, who until then wasnt ready for cine songs, ARR gives a royal launch to both the singers, even though Unni was launched earlier by himself. The initial Mridangams, the flutes, the Veenasall form a perfect unison to please the listeners. Only thing that amuses me is ARR has never looked upon Bombay Jayashree after this song, though she's doing great stuffs for other MDs.

[arr] kurunthogai(tamil poem) - which song?
Dear fans, i came across this kurunthogai poem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_literature , but it is familiar to us, as we have heard the lyrics in a song composed by our boss. Try to guess the song and movie. I felt AR is doing a good job in promoting tamil literature. after hearing the exact lyrics from the song, not sure who modified the tamil poem, Vairamuthu or AR. [arr] [semi-arr] sound engineer
dear fans, we know that sound engineer H.Sridhar was associated with AR sir for long time before his sad demise. And now Resul Pookutty has won one oscar for sound mixing in Slumdog Millionaire, so for future movies or albums will Resul work with our boss ? Also i have not seen AR praising Resul's work in any of his interviews
Re: [arr] How did the Film Fraternity react wen he got on stage to collect his Filmfare ??
Karan Johar was the host of the evening...started off by saying before i say anything ladies and gentlemen, A R Rahman is in the house.HUGE APPLAUSE... When he announced A R's name for the best background score and A R went on stage to get it, Rashid and me kept on clapping and stood up as I couldnt control my excitement for him. And know what? everyone in the room stood up and kept on clapping even as A R started his thank you speech. The claps wouldn't stop. A R says I feel akward getting these awards. SEL salim suleiman do a good job too...WHAT HUMILITY MAN !! So that's what..net net..bollywood was genuinely happy for him and showed it.
