[Cooker] ls120 and ide-floppy (supplement)

2000-06-30 Thread CPT KIDD

ok. i finally got it working with some gritting. added the "hdc=ide-floppy"
into the grub menu.lst and then had to use the "command line" and NOT the kde
floppy icon (kde floppy icon is a script file but which one can specify
filesystem type etc...makes life easier when one can use this icon!)

but, I can only mount the ls120 as "root" on command line prompt:

mount -t ext2 /dev/ls120 /mnt/ls120

I also formated this floppy with:

mke2fs /dev/hdc1440

The ide-floppy module appears to be loading fine now (along with ide-scsi)
(lilo was unhappy with these 2 commands in it's lilo.conf! @#$@#$)

now for the task of reading msdos and vfat on this ls120 drive.

[Cooker] knetload

2000-06-30 Thread CPT KIDD

seems to be a bug in knetload.

the prg won't read the eth0 device (won't monitor, displays no errors, just
shows a "blank" display)

to work around this, i enter "su" or root and then execute "knetload", then the
display shows the "colors" of activity and speed.

obviously a permissions problem. was working on upgrade from 6.1 > 7.0 > 7.1
but then i (obviously) did something to hinder knetload's ability to read the
eth0 device.

only have performed "normal" user operations and on the extreme side,
installed/configured vmware and tried the new nvidia opengl/driver (failed on
the last!)

so..

[Cooker] ls120 and ide-floppy.o

2000-06-30 Thread CPT KIDD

still having problems with ls120. seems that it's just a requirement that the
kernel must get rebuilt for it to work.

i did take note that the ide-floppy.o wasn't loaded, so even after a modprobe
ide-floppy didn't activate it.

also, ls120 seems to work best with umsdos if one is working with both ext2fs,
msdos, vfat(?)

pixel, in your last post on this issue you stated something about the following
(in lilo.conf? ...no using grub :))

 "disk=/dev/hdd bios=0"

if anyone knows a quick fix, please let me know...even tho' i don't use it
much, when i need a file to written to floppy, would like to use it!

email me 'cause i'm not on the list, yet.

Re: [Cooker] nic configuration for @home (the wave)

2000-06-26 Thread CPT KIDD

try calling @home service. they can direct you to their website which "shows"
your current ip#/gateway #/dns #'s. once you get these, use netconf (or
linuxconf > netconf) and enter the #'s in directly. for you email address smp
#'s etc...use actual "numbers #" and not "$mail" (or characters).

the above is how i do mine. somewhat difficult the first 1 or 2 times but is
easy after you learn it. also, remeber to restart the network
(linuxconf/netconf does this automatically) after you make changes.

dunno about dhcp or bootp...tried dhcp and didn't work.

think cox also has a "howto" page on the @home and linux/unix (or it maybe
titled other o/s's...dunno)...you should find it in support > how to setup
@home (and maybe "advanced setup"...etc)

[Cooker] Install errors --only some

2000-06-13 Thread CPT KIDD

INSTALL: After doing an "expert upgrade" and selecting the packages, i got an
error "Error-- rebuild rpmrebuilddb.9 already exists!" (to resolve alt/ctrl/f3
or f4 or something to command and del/rm the file within the given folder
location). Installs fine after i del/rm the file.

INSTALL: Minor bug =- graphical install bar showing current install ratio is
incorrect when doing a hdd (hd.img) install (guess the install goes much faster
than the bar is calculated for..used to slow cdrom speed...lol)

SCSI Detection: my scsi card aha152x (1520b) is having problems with detection
in all cd.img installs. including when trying initiate the install from the dos
cdrom boot files. so tried cd.img/cdrom dos/blank.img and still no-go. (the
blank.img simple blanks my screen on a graphical and think the results were teh
same when finding the aha152x from the blank.img as well...did use my own
kernel img (or vmlinuz/bzimage). (guess your right, would be nice to do a
ls120 image diskette maybe with all modules as well...lol)

KDE/KFM: When opening kfm (kde folder) to /mnt with an audio cdrom inserted (in
my scsi cdrom...probabely ide as well), the enter o/s will freeze when opeing
the /mnt folder! (think most who work with audio already know about
thissomething with the kernel needing re-compile to include support for the
audio file formats).

MICE: Would be nice to see both ps2 and usb mice configured on
install/upgrade. (usb mouse has a wheel on it)

LS120: Umsdos file support is available on default kernel upgrade.

#> mount /dev/hdc /mnt/ls120

/dev/hdc: Input/output error
mount: you must specify the filesystem type

#$@#$@#...guess i have to recompile my kernel here to include ls120
support again(ide-floppy...think it was). as such, ls120 (ide-floppy)
doesn't work on install. (fyi: tried vfat,ext2,msdos as well...this looks like
the upgrade didn't take notice of my ide-floppy...as usual, will probabely
rebuild my kernel sometime to fix)

Overall, I am highly impressed with the speed at which mandrake is improving.
this version (of course installed using the "expert > xfree40 option when
presented(got's a geforce!)) is much peppier than the last 7.0. The
xfree4.0 does flash several times abnormally @ startx (i have the o/s starting
it automatically). Also, it detected my Saitek usb mouse which is connected
via an externel (not-self powered, generic) usb hub. This mouse is part of the
G2 gaming pad (www.saitek.com) and is connected to the G2 pad via a custom
cable and then G2 is connected to the generic usb hub. The copy/paste mouse
menus are nice.

The kernel also detects the Umax 2200 scanner via scsi connection. Whether or
not it works, i still have to find out.

The re-working of the KDE Menus is nicely done and more organized then what the
defaults are! only thing is, i was much use to finding all the prgs within the
confusing menu. Glad to see somebody finally took the initiative to
re-organize (so that newbies will have an easier time learning at the least!).

mmm...still having problems after using the boot image on the 7.1 iso cdrom

i used my old cdrom.img (~7.0) file to boot the 7.1 cdroms and still having
problems with the error "no valid disks to install to" or similar error. fk
(in english "fk"="I'm ScreweD")

and now doing a hd.img install in a little after d/l. my first wd 20gb drive
refuses to be seen by the hd.img boot. but my second wd 10gb drive will be
seen with the hd.img boot. both are installed on ide0 (or the first ide

yesi think you solution would be best. i'll actually "truncate" or "cut"
the password down too 8 characters instead of 9 (yea yeasort of had to
atleast give you some idea on how many characters i'm entering.

k...as long as there's a fix i guess i'll be all right..btw: i've been useing
the same password for roughly 2 years now(another - yea yea...but somemore
background info helps troubleshoot and verify). it is possible that i actually
created the account in linux (licq) which accepted the >8 digit password, and
the mdk7.1-2 iso, it finally caught up with the =<8 character/digit requirement!

I think time will tell. Most or allot of computers users are hard-core
programmers for have some knowledge of linux etc.as such, they are not
going to be buying allot of win-modems (in general, h/w that does not work in
other o/s's). I think manufacturers are starting to get the picture that they
can make more $ by producing a product that is "multi-o/s" such as my brother
hl-1240 laser printer thing is bothe parallel/usb ports, and will work in
imac/G3 also (whatever the f that means)i love it. it was also very good
per $ too! so i grabbed that puppy because is complies with all my needs.

I highly think that only "wanna be's" or "get rich quick schemes" will
venture into "win-modem" technology again.

As such, i will continue to support my linux o/s (of choice). It's stable. It
easy. It's simple w/o stupid gimmicks! I have the source code available to
check to see if anything is getting sent to "bill" without my approval. I
mainly use it for networking, email, icq, browsing xxx sites...etc.

thanx for acknowledging pixel...glad to hear that i'm not alone on this issue.
will think of installing lilo to individual "hda1" and "hda4" instead of just
"hda" and having bootmagic to choose o/s's.

Re: [Cooker] power off on shutdown

2000-05-12 Thread CPT KIDD

funny, i've been gently complaining about this but what i did previously is
rebuilding with "make xconfig" and enabling the option (poweroff at shutdown
feature) and only the other apci (i think it's called), and rebuilding from
there. if i check anymore than 2 of the options under "APM BIOS OPTIONS" then
the "power-off @ shutdown" feature fails. wierd and seems to be just a conflict
with features or something.

-APM BIOS SUPPORT
-Make cpu calls when idle
-Power-off on shutdown

are the ones i've got enabled in xconfig. Like i said, if you enable some
other options in APM, the power-off feature sometimes doesn't work. Get's
tricky sometimes...haven't tried rebuilding 7.1 betas yet tho, this is based on
7.0 mdk.

Re: [Cooker] A Downside to Having More than One Linux O/S's on the same harddrive/computer

2000-05-12 Thread CPT KIDD

mmm...good idea...tho' with the newer kernels (ls120 fix etc, a very necessary
fix in my case), sharing a /boot would delete the theology of doing beta and
having a stable o/s on the same hdd then. you would have to rebuild the kernel
at different intervals still.

yea, i've got lilo install on "hda" and not into the "hda1" and "hda4".
installing it to "hda1" and "hda4" seperately and using something like bootmagic
(powerquest) as an overall chooser of the "stable mdk 7.0 o/s" and "7.1-2 mdk
beta/cooker)", I would imagine would solve the overall crises... ...seems like
this is the best solution to this, tho' a bit messy in my opinion...i'd just
rather have lilo booting windows, mdk-stable, mdk-cooker partitions/operating
system's.

modules? don't understand completely, but yea,, that's teh "main" issue. if
they don't load, nothing works... my single lilo install try's to do both o/s's
and this is the result..

[Cooker] A Downside to Having More than One Linux O/S's on the same harddrive/computer

2000-05-11 Thread CPT KIDD

I've got more than 1 linux-mandrake 7.0 o/s's on one hdd.

hda1=my main stable linux-mandrake 7.0
hda3=windows
hda4=beta 7.1-2 mdk o/s

when doing lilo, it complains that bzImage isn't present when in beta o/s or it
complains that vmlinuz isn't present from my stable linux mdk o/s.

it's very ackward & if it (the o/s) isn't initialized properly by lilo, modules
won't load correctly and also usually including the system.map won't load.

Any Ideas on this? This would mainly pertain to "us beta testers" with the
mandrake cooker since having a stable mandrake o/s is usually why we're also
doing beta on the side. Hence, 2 o/s's on one computer.

btw, when i now do "shutdown (poweroff)" the 7.1-2 does actually
"auto-power-off on shutdown"! finally! Also, its' nice to be able to finally
make a ls120 rescue diskette after installing!

[Cooker] ...more bugz

2000-05-06 Thread CPT KIDD

1. Sblive doesn't work. Configuring with DrakConf results in: "modprobe:

2.2.15-0.28mdk and 2.2.15-0.28mdksmp are the ACTUAL NAMES!

workaroudn (copy folders and rename them)

doing so resulted in a "ton" of "unresolved symbosl".

2. My usb mouse doesn't work. It's connected by an externel usb hub.
(probabely not until 2.4 kernel?)

3. X crash when trying to open cdrom folder? (have 1 scsi cdrom & 1 ide cd-r)

4. Send/Attach "messages" file?

5. Although kde has allot fewer prg shortcuts & is more organized now...the
menu shortcuts just aren't all therelol

6. Just tried to do /usr/src/linux/xconfig and resulted in:

[root@ linux]# make xconfig
rm -f include/asm
( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm)
make -C scripts kconfig.tk

guess even recompiling is out of the question.

[Cooker] Finally installed...

2000-05-06 Thread CPT KIDD

Some initial observations:

- Have Creative Labs Annihilator Pro (Nvidia Geforce DDR) and the install of
the beta 7.1-2 i cannot setup the x-server at that time. It displays no
resolutions and can't find any even tho i change the monitor/video card types.
To work around, boot the fresh new o/s and reconfigure it using
"Xconfigurator". Works fine but unknown if it used a config file for nvidia
geforce or generic svga.

- Nice printer setup, tho i did connect my printer by usb cable now (to save
irq's), but will try the Brother - HL1240 setup sometime by quickly attaching
the parallel cable.

- LS120 floppy drive works nicely! glad to see you guys finally engineered
the small kernel fix for it. although this is only initial veiws.

- Don't know if the sblive is setup right yet. Usually on boot-up the
line-up activates signifying it's active. Have to look at this more.

- Yea, install by way of a scsi cdrom (using adaptec 152x interface) will
not work at all. But i can configure it w/o further problems when the
install process is activated. you still cannot install from it tho since the
new cdrom.img (7.1-2) won't find it (aha152x=0x340,11,7)so install by ide
cdrom and then once the install process is started (keyboard config, setup
prefs, etc) then have the install process detect the scsi interface. (i've
tried my best here to clarify!)

Re: [Cooker] Day 8 and...

2000-05-06 Thread CPT KIDD

AH! Finally, i burned a new floppy from the 7.1-2 iso cd-rom. (cdrom.img) and
booted with the cd-r in my ide-cdrom burner. Although it would be much faster
to install it by using my scsi-cdrom (readonly drive, 12x), but this cdrom.img
has a BUG with the adaptec 152x scsi interface! (see prev posts).

Well, with the new cd.img and the install cdrom (7.1-2) in my ide cdrom burner
(4x) it will now take me to the partitioning part of the install process and
will list/show both hdd's! 'cept, i put off d/l'ing & burning the new ext
cdrom until now.

After the burn of ext, i will try installing (sigh, although it might take a day
or 2 to install from a 4x cdrom).

Re: [Cooker] Beos....

not to start an argument but to enlighten slightly:

just email beos tech support and was advised the "beos" doesn't work with the
latest h/w such as the geforce vid card. in linux, i have no real problems
with newer h/w unless it's usb, which the 2.4 kernel will resolve. "be" has no
support for this stuff yet.

the high-point i think for "Be" is that it does a nice job from what i hear
with video. but h/w support is limited and the s/w is very "thin".

of course, most of us that have been using linux for awhile already know this
if they "poked-around" w/ beos.

hope this helps.

[Cooker] fyi: Netscape 6.0: Pre-Release is available

2000-04-11 Thread CPT KIDD

if anybodies interested.

ftp.netscape.com/

something like /pub/netscape6pre/unix/linuxetcit's a tar...untar it to
a place of your preference and run it from that directory by "./netscape" and
not "netscape" if you already have netscape installed.

used teh browser in win98 se and it crashed 2-3 times. installed it in linux
and has yet to crash. .just wishful thinking?

I liked the browser myself. stuff is d/l'ing in under ~1 second. IE took 3-5
seconds to d/l material & display it. of course, high speed isp users
will like this mostand man i do!

mmm, yea...(too many things to think of) true...thought of this too when i was
installing on my old computer which doesn't have cd-r. new hdd's offer allot
of space (this would be an issue on real old hdd's tho...< 1-2 gb). there's
probabely more important issues at stake besides something like this...this i
see more of a "luxury" and can be worked around by either uninstalling or doing
a custom install. one reason why i haven't griped much about it myself.

(which acts as a ftp/http...very well i might add to because of mdk!)

O.K. here's some info. just read a post a couple of days ago in the
news.soundblaster.com /creative.linux newsgroup.

i'm really getting tired of complete newbies buying the linux package and
expecting a "windowz" (duh) type of enviroment (and having users ask..."gee,
how do i do (some eazy task)). lol

I think some of these distrobutions should take alittle curtousy to place
"notes" on the package stating "This s/w package is for users with some
knowledge of computers (or so and so)"

Didn't even realize this until the past week. lol.

2) Also, cenral time (US) is set when not logging into the X desktop. But once

3) Also, is there a webpage or doc listing differences between the normal

try it now. i lossed everything on it because of being in a "stupor" when
re-intstalling. Mainly because the partitions didn't have a "label". as such,
when i re-install, I called the /home partition as /usr, as a result, formated
by /home partition containing the ftp/httpd/user directories! oh wellit's
backup now better than before (i think).

(the latter contains the compressed images...i'll try and upload an
uncompressed one now)

[Cooker] 2 bugs (or hinderences) when setting up remote lp!!

2000-03-24 Thread CPT KIDD

2 bugs (or hinderences) when setting up remote lp!!

1) Printtool SHOULD recommend to setup a hosts.lpd or hosts.equiv file on the
linux machine with the printer

2) When setting up/specifying the printer on the remote computer, you only
need to enter the "printer name" and not the whole string as, "/var/spool/lp".
Instead, just "lp" will surfice!!!

Please address these issues to help newbies configure this stuff easier. Thanx!

Re: [Cooker] trying to log in X/KDE/etc

2000-03-22 Thread CPT KIDD

Well, negative on the x init scripts. re-installed all the rpm's for X
including the xinit.rpm. I can log into root kde/gnome as root. And it will
start the Enlightnement as user, but will not start kde/gnome/failsafe by
startx/kdm as user. It will simply "kick back" to kdm/xdm.

Get allot of "AUDIT" errors in the xdm-error log concerning user trying to
login and localclient not being able to log in (to the respective desktop).

weird. i'm ready to just re-install. would be easier that trying to track
this at my end.

Re: [Cooker] xanim

2000-03-22 Thread CPT KIDD

Actually, my ftp does have the compressed and uncompressed video files on it.
Compressed (radius codec) shows black/blank and Uncompressed looks like sh=t
(shows the red/green/blue layers out of sync).

ftp://24.13.20.26/pub/uploads/ (compressed files of Ocean#.avi)
ftp://24.13.20.26/pub/uploads/sandiego/ (uncompressed files named Video#.avi)

have decent upload speed at my end (~100kb/sec) so it's up to your isp.

(urls are tested for accuracy and, yes, my ftp looks like a hurricane (not
tornado) ripped thru it)

this IS my control box also! i haven't done anything to it, except it does go

I'm using 0.75.3a-2mdk.

no, i'm using licq as "a user" and not as "root". licq has run fine
(especially fine in since mdk 7.0 and cooker 7.0) until today. it's been my

yea, seems like your using a newer version alright. i'll check out the new

hate to to think it's due to my machines, but i doubt it.)

Licq -- segmentation fault occurring on all my linux machines.

I can execute and log-in and all contacts in the icq menu will show but
apperantly something's up with the icq server. I think it's checking to see
what o/s one is using and then if it's "Linux" it will crash (i.e. seg fault
and close).

Probabely done by a ms geek.

IMHO: I'm no way going to pay $400+ for a o/s. With my knowledge, i'd rather
use linux. As such, more users are probabely going to want linux for a server

[Cooker] ls120 and desktop icon for floppy

2000-03-17 Thread CPT KIDD

Well, looks as if supermount ain't going to work for me. As such, need the old
"floppy mount" program for the kde desktop. It was in the 6.0 version and had
more menus rather than just an entry for the "/mnt/fd0". One could specify
the mount location, filesystem type, etc. instead of having to do it command
line or in linuxconf.

What's the name of it, and where is it located? is the specific item still in
7.0 and just not used?

Thanx. Atleast i can mount the ls120 now. Just difficult w/o supermount

When doing a remote X session (per clipping below), kde/kfm will crash

[Cooker] ls120 and hdd optimizations

2000-03-17 Thread CPT KIDD

BTW, it does appear that the ls120 is able to use the hdd optimizations
(since it is an ide drive).

Am i correct on this? The one stipulation is that the drive does NEED
to have a disk in it at "startup time" of the mdk o/s, or else it will
return an error during the hdd optimization script. (Would require
sometype of scripting to enable hdd optimizations on mount? -or
supermount for those that have this working w/ the ls120.)

If hdd optimizations does not work, then there should be a script
checking to see if one has an ls120 drive as to avoid an error on boot.
(of course this script would just be for looks)

here's a tip: I had much better success in d/l'ing & installing the
binaries. "Linux-ix86-glibc21" from the xfree86.org site (i went to a
2mb/sec mirror :)

you'll need to read the "Install" doc. it's seems like a long process but
i answered yes to everything and then used the "xf86config" command to
configure my setup.

downside to the whole ordeal: No 32bit color support! Right now, on my
main linux o/s, I have 32 bpp support. Tried every option and still nada.
:( @s such, will stick with v 3.3 of xfree for my main o/s (i work w/ alot
of pictures).

  what was the exact pb?

I have a ls120 10 centimeters away from my left hand, and it works
quite
  nicely?!

anyway, there are a lot of pb with ls120: mkbootdisk fails (needs
adding
"disk=/dev/hdd bios=0" and replace the root=/dev/fd0 of the "rescue"
label
  (usefull?))

i've patched DrakX to work more properly: good entry in fstab (with or
without
supermount), mkbootdisk handling is now ok. If only mkbootdisk'd work
:)

i wonder what is the best solution for this nasty ls120? i wonder if
anyone ever
use it partionned. Seems strange kernel handling as for me. It'd be
better on
  fd0

This is what happens when i try it with supermount:

[root@unknown /root]# ls /mnt/ls120
ls: /mnt/ls120: Input/output error
[root@unknown /root]#

Clipping from /etc/fstab

/mnt/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrom1 0
/mnt/cdrom2 /mnt/cdrom2 supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrom2 0
#/dev/hdd /mnt/ls120 ext2 auto 0
/mnt/ls120 /mnt/ls120 supermount fs=ext2,dev=/dev/ls120 0
/dev/hda5 /mnt/home1 ext2 defaults 1 2
localhost2:/home/roger /home/roger nfs user,exec,dev,suid,rw 1 1

(the supermount stays after i rem'd/commented out the supermount check
script in "mandrake everytime")

Now if i change it to "/dev/hdd /mnt/ls120 fs=ext2 0 ", i can
mount/umount the ls120. don't why supermount
shouldn't work tho' on the ls120.

and here's a clipping from my /var/log/messages file (if it means
anything):

Mar 16 12:51:40 PAM_pwdb[625]: (kde) session opened for user root by
(uid=0)
Mar 16 13:02:34 kernel: ide-floppy: hdd: I/O error, pc = 0, key = 2,

asc = 3a, ascq =  0
Mar 16 13:02:34 kernel: hdd: The drive reports both 126222336 and 0
bytes as its capacity

I also tried turning off hdd optimizations in the "mandrake_everytime"
script but didn't seem to help one bit.

The kernel 2.2.14-15mdk has been recompiled to include all necessary
modules instead of "as module".

The "supermount.o" check in "mandrake_everytime" had to be commented
out/rem'd out to not check for this module.

I can supermount my 2 cdrom's tho'. (one ide-scsi, and one scsi w/ scsi
adapter).

Another error i get is a "Segementation Fault" when checking as command
line w/ "ls /mnt/ls120". At this point it usually "locks" the o/s and
will not umount the /mnt/ls120. Only hope is to umount each /dev/hda*
and not working about the /dev/ hdd (/mnt/ls120) until shutdown.

Maybe smp and the above configuration is conflicting with this device
somewhere causing me not to simply, "change the desktop floppy icon url
and fstab"?

This is weird. In the cooker (prior to release of 7.0 and 7.0-2) the
ls120 was detected and worked on supermount (i'm sure it did atleast
work!). After i erased adn did a intall of 7.0, nothing, didn't work.

My /etc/fstab (cdrom1= teac scsi cdrom, cdrom2= hp7200i cd-rw):

/mnt/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrom1 0
/mnt/cdrom2 /mnt/cdrom2 supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrom2 0

You'll probabely have "cdrom" instead of "cdrom1". Pretty standard looking eh?

The mdk 7.0-2 should have done this for you already including the following
/etc/lilo.conf:

image=/boot/bzImage
 label=linux-beta
 root=/dev/hda4
 append="hdc=ide-scsi"
 read-only

[Cooker] My final error/bug list for kernel problems

2000-03-15 Thread CPT KIDD

I did find the sblive drivers (emu10k1) and other data for
configuring my cdrom/scsi aha152x (had to edit scsi Makefile and add
parameters rather than lilo). And i must admit, everything is very well

organized.

Unlike my hdd, copy/paste here, copy/paste their, duplicate files
over there and some junk over there.

very nicely organized mdk. if a tech support person provide support via
phone
to someone using linux, they probabely would'nt have a prob' finding
anything.

One quesiton is this, when enabling supermount for the ls120 (i.e.
/mnt/ls120 /mnt/ls120 supermount .../dev/hdd...fstype=vfat...etc) and
trying to access the drive resulted in a o/s freeze. I have now just
re-edited the fstab to read the "standard mount" statement for this
ls120 drive .

Second question is this (Note, I have no ISDN Cards and I have this
option Turned-Off in the "xconfig"!
I do have a isa modem but this seems more of a kernel configuration
error. -- clipping from /var/log/messages):

A Minor Note:

When running the Console fb > penguin icon on startup -- no
show...doesn't
work. compiled kernel w/ the vga16 and it messed up the boot
screen/startup display but resolved on startx. did notice the "penguin
icon/logo" on startup in the cooker and it looked nice, but at the cost
of running fb instead of svga is what i would like to compromise for
running it

[Cooker] Supermount

2000-03-15 Thread CPT KIDD

(/var/log/messages):

Mar 15 13:12:03 cx640487-a rc.sysinit: Mounting local filesystems

Mar 15 13:12:03 cx640487-a rc.sysinit: Turning on user and group quotas

succeeded
Mar 15 13:12:04 cx640487-a init: Entering runlevel: 5

The results of this error cause mdk to rewrite my fstab settings to
standard settings. (i.e. /mnt/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 supermount ... to
/dev/cdrom1 /mntcdrom1 etc)

There is also another error w/i messages that state i.e. "cdrom1 already
