*Transcript:* "I would like to take this opportunity to speak to all of the
Sidhas in America and throughout the world about the extraordinary gift that
Maharishi has given us in the form of the Invincible Assemblies.

"Maharishi has given us the opportunity to create an invincible world—a
world without enemies—a world of peace, prosperity, joy, happiness, and
profound bliss.

"The formula to achieve this incredible goal for mankind is so very simple,
and it is completely within our grasp. Maharishi has given us the technology
to achieve the impossible through a procedure so easy and blissful that it
defies imagination—and yet it is true, and it has been tested and proven.

"The technology, of course, is an Invincible Assembly in every nation—a
Super Radiance group of Yogic Flyers in every country.

"We have such an assembly in America, and I am very gratified to see that in
the last day or two we have achieved the Super Radiance numbers once again.

"We have been given the knowledge of the mechanics of these Invincible
Assemblies as a formula—the square root of 1% of the nation's population—but
I would like to discuss the benefits for each of us in terms of my field of
experience, which is business.

"There is an important principle in business which Maharishi has described
as 'do less and accomplish more.' For any business transaction, you want to
invest as little as possible, but in return you want to receive as much as
possible.

"We have the tools to calculate how efficient we are at this principle of
'do less and accomplish more': we calculate the return on investment and the
rate of return.

"In business, if you can achieve a 2 to 1 return on your investment over a
period of a year, your calculated rate of return is 100%, and this is pretty
good. In fact, if I offered each of you a 100% rate of return, it would be
insane not to take advantage of an investment as favorable as that.

"By contrast, Raja Hagelin has informed us that the influence we create in
the Super Radiance groups is equal to the square root of 1%. The easiest way
to calculate this effect is to multiply the number of Yogic Flyers by 100.
So yesterday, with 1750 Yogic Flyers in the Invincible America Assembly,
each of you had the effect of providing a positive influence of coherence to
175,000 of your fellow citizens. In other words, the return on investment of
a single Yogic Flyer in the Assembly yesterday was 175,000 to 1; and this
return did not take a year, but occurred within 3 hours. I haven't
calculated the rate of return on this investment of your time, but it
approaches infinity.

"This return to each of you on the Assembly is on an investment far more
precious than money. It is a return on your action—your *karma*. And the
result will be a continuous stream of positive influence in your life that
will grow each day as you participate in the Assembly.

"There is no more efficient mechanism in the universe to accomplish so much
for so little. This is the extraordinary gift of Maharishi which will allow
us to make such progress for ourselves and our world in such a short time.

during the daylight hours.  These animals have been 
coexisting with the campus for over 100 years. 
At all times we should give the wildlife a full latitude of movement, 
because a gesture or word from us may be seen as threatening

The Department of Natural Resources is aware of the several foxes 
in town and on campus during daylight hours.  Wildlife Services is 
doing their part by monitoring for disease.  It is important that

Maharishi's Extraordinary Gifts

Culminating in a Tower of Invincibility Construction on the Maharishi
Tower of Invincibility began on June 17 and will be completed in time
for the Guru Purnima Celebration July 29. The Tower will be 45 feet
high and covered with inscriptions to commemorate the remarkable
achievements of the Invincible America Assembly.

We are now completing the most significant year in the history of the
University and Maharishi's Worldwide Movement for the Transcendental
Meditation(r) program— the year of the Invincible America Assembly to
crown America with permanent invincibility.

The Assembly began on July 23, 2006, under the leadership of Dr. John
Hagelin and Dr. Bevan Morris, and by now everyone is aware of the
results — the immediate and sustained upturn in the economy, the
rising support for peace among the American people and in Congress,
even the absence of hurricanes.

And Maharishi has sent gift after gift — hundreds of Yogic Flying
Vedic Pandits, the PurushaSM program, the Purusha Rajas, the Raj
Rajeshwaris.

By far the most significant gift was his daily attention to the
Assembly, his personal guidance of "Number One" experiences —
masterpieces of experience, as Maharishi called them — which have been
so very fulfilling to him. In the course of his interactions with
Assembly participants, Maharishi has brought out knowledge he said he
had been waiting 50 years to say. His guidance has resulted in even
more profound depth of experience.

So significant has this past year been that Maharishi has invited the
University to build a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility to commemorate
the magnificent achievements of the Invincible America Assembly for
all future generations.

Since October 2006, nearly 500 Yogic Flying Vedic Pandits have joined
the Invincible America Assembly at Maharishi University of Management
and Maharishi Vedic City.

The Maharishi Tower of Invincibility will be one of the campus's most
striking features. Dr. Eike Hartmann has designed a square structure
45 feet high, with a stepped dome and a golden Kalash. Each of the
four sides is 15 feet wide and will be covered with inscribed white
marble panels:

The eastern panel will celebrate Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmananda
Saraswati, through whose grace the Invincible America Assembly has
dawned.

The second panel will honor Maharaja Nader Raam, His Excellency Dr.
Bevan Morris, and His Excellency Dr. John Hagelin.

The third panel will honor the Howard and Alice Settle Foundation for
an Invincible America, which has provided financial support for the
establishment of a permanent group of at least 2,500 Yogic Flyers in
the United States.

The fourth panel will honor Maharishi University of Management and all
those who gave their service and generous gifts to make the Invincible
America Assembly possible.

The Maharishi Tower of Invincibility is positioned on the hill between
the two Golden Domes. It will be surrounded by a beautiful garden and
viewing areas, with four powerful searchlights aimed into the sky. The
steel structure is being erected and the white marble tiles are being
placed even now.

Maharishi is deeply inspired by the building of the Maharishi Tower of
Invincibility and is now asking others around the world to also create
similar Maharishi Towers of Invincibility in their countries. Join us
in inaugurating the first Tower July 29.

On 20 April 2007, the second day of a three-day global celebration of the
auspicious Akshiya Tritiya -- the day in the Vedic Calendar dedicated to
lasting achievements on the ground of the ancient and eternal field of Being
-- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, speaking via satellite broadcast from Meru, Holland,
brought to light the great Secret of administration of the universe.

Everything is possible, Maharishi revealed, from the field of silence, which
is the Unified Field of Total Natural Law; where "Gyan Shakti" (Total
Knowledge) and "Kriya Shakti" (Infinite Dynamism) are unified in "Brahm". Any
desire can be fulfilled from this level. Whatever is desired by anyone,
Maharishi explained, it is supplied to him from the secret unseen level of
administration of Brahm -- the transcendental self-referral consciousness of
everyone, from where the mere subtlest impulse of desire is fulfilled. 

"What is my great desire? And I am sure it's coming to be fulfilled -- the
desire is to achieve that high goal of "Raam Raj" (Global Administration
through Natural Law) which is sung by Ramayan generation after generation,
Yuga (age) after Yuga, time after time ... Remaining in the Transcendent, from
that level always everything is available to everyone ... soon soon soon. Soon
it is going to happen. Soon is it going to happen."

happiness for the world

On 25 July 2005 Global Good News reported: 
On 21 July, the full moon day that is traditionally dedicated to the Guru in the Vedic Calendar, 
many thousands of citizens of the Global Country of World Peace, peace-loving citizens and 
practitioners of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation technique in every nation, gathered in 
Meru, Holland, or connected via satellite and Internet broadcast to participate in an historic 
global celebration to usher in a new time of peace and happiness for the world. The celebration 
took place at the heart of a ten-day international conference dedicated to bringing the full 
realization of this new time as quickly as possible. 


It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the 
life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring 
fulfilment to the field of world-peace. 



Meru, the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in the Netherlands, is set amidst 
exquisite formal gardens, fountains and acres of woodland. Its elegant, spacious central 
building, constructed of all-natural materials, was designed entirely according to the principles 
of Vedic Architecture. In this place of serene beauty and lively silence, it seems that the goals of 
the conference have already blossomed fully.   Each day the conference begins with 
the arrival of the long line of royal white limousines, followed by the royal processional of His 
Majesty Maharaja Nader Raam, first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, who is richly 
attired in white and gold silk robes and a gold crown. The sound of bagpipe music fills the air 
heralding the arrival  of  Maharaja Nader Raam, and 22 more Rajas, also wearing robes and 
golden crowns. Each of these 22 Rajas is responsible for bringing the life-supporting 
programmes of the Global Country of World Peace to the 10-12 countries in their care. 
 Inside, the conference halls are lavishly decorated with golden thrones for the Rajas, 
large arrangements of fresh flowers and stately greenery, graceful silk draperies, and luxurious 
red carpeting. They are filled to capacity with thousands of dedicated leaders and supporters of 
the Global Country of World Peace.  The conference is blessed by the presence of His 
Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the world's foremost scientist and Vedic scholar who 
introduced Transcendental Meditation and the knowledge of Total Natural Law to the world to 
raise individual and national life to perfection.   A great highlight of the conference 
on 22 July was a beautiful address by Maharishi. Following are a few points from the talk. 
Maharishi described the profound value of the Veda. He said that the Veda structures the 
human physiology. Yet the Veda itself is uncreated. It is eternal because the level of the Veda, 
the level of the structure of the Laws of Nature is Parame Vyoman, transcendental. 
Being transcendental, it is not exposed to change or decay.   The Veda says that one 
should know that by knowing which everything is known. Maharishi explained that this means 
we need to know Atma, (Transcendental Consciousness, the Self of everyone). How can we 
know Atma? Maharishi said we can know it through sound, the first sound of Rk Veda—A. 
Everything is contained in A—all values of silence and dynamism.   Veda is the 
Constitution of the Universe. Maharishi elaborated, saying that we can add one adjective to the 
Constitution of the Universe. We can say that the Veda is the lively Constitution of the Universe. 
When we say the lively Constitution of the Universe, then we step onto one more 
phrase—Light of God. And when we say Light of God, then we say almighty, 
omnipresent, omniscient Light of God.   Maharishi went on to commend Dr Reiner 
Picha for his model and presentation of Veda in the human physiology. (The 40 major areas of 
human physiology have a one-to-one correlation in structure and function to the structure and 
function of the 40 aspects of the Veda and Vedic Literature. Dr Picha's life-sized, transparent 
model of the human body, with the framework of the skeleton and organs visible within it, 
demonstrates this correlation. When a specific aspect of the Veda is recited, the corresponding 
areas of the body light up on the model.) This is the first display of its kind.  It gives a vision of 
the secrets of how the body functions based on the movements of consciousness.  
Veda is understood now for all its values—that means total abstraction, one unbounded 
ocean of consciousness, the transcendental reality. Maharishi emphasized the importance of 
this transcendental reality in the GAPS between the sounds of the Veda.  The secret

Filmmaker Wants Students to Chill Out With Transcendental Meditation
By ERIC HOOVER

In the late 1960s, college students closed their eyes, expanded their minds,
and made meditation a fad on campuses. Now David Lynch wants them to do it
again.

In July Mr. Lynch, director of the films Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, and
Mulholland Drive, announced the establishment of the David Lynch Foundation
for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, an organization that will
promote the mental and physical benefits of Transcendental Meditation.

Mr. Lynch, who says he has shut his eyes and entered the "field of oneness"
twice each day for 32 years, plans to begin a speaking tour of 50 colleges
this fall to tout meditation as a tool for overcoming anxiety and stress.
"It's an ingredient that's missing from education," he says.

The Indian guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi introduced Transcendental Meditation,
known as "diving within," a half-century ago (and later taught the Beatles
his method for chilling out). The mental technique is practiced silently for
15 to 20 minutes twice a day. Researchers have found that it can reduce high
blood pressure and improve brain function, among other health benefits.

Proponents say meditating also can raise students' academic performance and
foster creativity. Students who meditate achieve a state of "relaxed
alertness" that helps them complete assignments more easily, says William R.
Stixrud, a clinical neuropsychologist based in Silver Spring, Md., and a
member of the foundation's Board of Advisers.

Mr. Lynch's own descriptions of Transcendental Meditation are no less
imaginative than his films, in which time does strange things and symbols
leap out of the unconscious. Meditating, he says, is a "dive into pure
creativity" that has helped him realize his artistic potential, a portal to
the source of "love, consciousness, creativity, and power" that in a mere
two weeks transformed him from an angry man to a happy fellow.

"It is this light you turn on that gets rid of negativity," he says.

'Bright, Shiny Pennies'

Mr. Lynch believes that frazzled high-school and college students are in
need of such a light because of academic pressures, fatigue, and stress. He
imagines a world in which each student has one class period a day to
experience silence and bliss.

Recently some elementary and secondary schools have started after-school
meditation programs. Some colleges, too, offer meditation instruction.
Gregory Kuhlman, director of the counseling program at Brooklyn College of
the City University of New York, says his staff suggests meditation and
other relaxation training to some students to help them "manage anxiety."

Mr. Lynch became convinced that the practice could benefit young adults
after attending a series of skits performed by high-school students who had
learned meditation at Maharishi University of Management, in Fairfield,
Iowa. "They seemed like bright, shiny pennies," he says of the actors.
"There was a consciousness that came off them that I never had seen."

The foundation, which he established with his own money, intends to finance
meditation classes for students as well as institutional research on the
physiological effects of the technique.

2. Repair of Campus Roads Begins

The road re-paving project has begun.  Effective immediately, August 11,
2005, the Norris asphalt paving company is working on two entry/exit points
along Hwy. 1:
 
--  Dr. R. K. Wallace Drive, the main west entrance onto campus; and
 
--  Golden Dome Way off Hwy. 1 near Goldfinch and Meadow Lark Lanes.  There
are several stages in the re-paving process. It is best to enter and exit
off B Street onto Zimmerman Blvd. or Badgett Drive.  We expect the Hwy. 1
entrances to be affected for at least a week.

The Town That Lost Its Guru

With eyes tight shut, legs crossed and mind meandering, I briefly flirt with
inner peace. Beneath 
a golden dome that is the British centre for the teachings of a mystical guru
from the East, the 
time has come to dabble with the power of meditation. For a moment it seems
like paradise. 
Then my eyes flicker, the faith fades and I remember that I am in
Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

Strange though it may seem, this new town of a thousand roundabouts is the
European home to 
the followers of the man whose cosmic notions so entranced The Beatles in the
1960s: the 
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Here they came to deploy the force of transcendental
meditation (TM), 
to find personal happiness and to make the world a better place.

Now, though, a dark cloud casts its shadow over the Maharishi's British flock.
The UK, the 95-
year-old sage claims, has become a 'Scorpion nation', and meditative teachings
merely serve to 
'feed the destroyer of the world'. The Maharishi, it seems, is rather ticked
off about the Iraq War 
and the arms trade.

Teaching TM must cease in the UK immediately, he has ordered. 'We are
rejecting one nation " 
Britain " which has proven to be a poisonous, divisive influence in the world
family,' the leader 
blasts in a memo issued to his Global Country of World Peace recently.

It all seems slightly hard on his followers in Skelmersdale, who set up base
here 25 years ago 
and have built up a 400-strong community. Some of the people here wonder why
their home 
country has been singled out and the US left alone, and a few have even mooted
the previously 
unthinkable: disobeying the legendary figure and carrying on teaching.

'He is deeply upset about the arms trade,' says David Hughes, one of the
founder members of 
the community, explaining that Britain, per head of population, actually has a
worse record than 
anywhere else in the world. 'This is an issue we are all very concerned
about.' Teaching 
meditation in the UK, it seems, could foster energies that make the situation
worse. If the 
community has to cease such activities, then it will be for the greater good.
But the rest of 
Skelmersdale is slightly nervous too, for they've grown rather fond of the
Yogic fliers over the 
years.

With meditation has come an award-winning school, a gym, a business centre and
new houses. 
The Maharishi's men and women have injected cash into the local economy and
some even 
claim their presence has revitalised it. Now the Yogics are being urged to
flee for larger, better-
funded settlements abroad. 'When we first came in 1980 things were really
bleak,' explains 
Hughes, a Lancashire man by birth. Hughes and a handful of other devotees
opted for 
Skelmersdale over other new towns because the rents were cheap and it was near
the heart of 
Britain, offering easy access from Scotland and the Southeast. At the time,
very few other 
operations viewed it as a viable centre. 'Now you can hardly find any spare
business space. If 
you want to set up here you have to build from scratch.'

It has even been suggested that their communal meditation reversed the crime
rate in the 
nearby Merseyside area from being one of the worst in the UK to being among
the best " 
although Hughes concedes that he still doesn't leave his car unattended in
Liverpool at night.

He admits that the general upturn is not entirely down to the power of
meditation, but believes 
that it has been a significant force. And the economy certainly needed a
boost. In the 1960s, 
Skem " as it is affectionately known locally " survived the decline of the
mining industry only to 
be turned into a concrete jungle. Its reward was to be used as an overspill
town to resettle 
crowded Merseyside. Industrial employers proceeded to leave the town en masse,
and the only 
growth figures related to crime, drug abuse and poverty.

But, as Hughes points out, things have been looking a little better of late.
We depart the dome 
for a tour of the town. 'It was originally proposed that it should have a
population of 80,000,' he 
says. 'But it's only really got up to 40,000.'

Similarly, the meditation community needs to have 800 members to affect the
way the country 
lives, claims Hughes. With it languishing at just 400 it could not possibly
oust the Blair 
government and move the UK towards the goal the Maharishi sets for all his
communities " 
bringing peace to the world. So now they face the prospect that their teachers
will heed the 
guru's order to depart to the likes of South Africa and the United States.

But Hughes says that does not mean the end of the road for Skelmersdale. 'Just
because we 
cannot teach TM for the moment, does not mean that we will go away. It is like
riding a bike: 
once you've had your four lessons you can keep doing it. Maharishi hasn't told
us to stop 
meditating, only to stop teaching it.'

Bush gets some unorthodox advice

The anti-war activists, Islamic believers, communists, and liberals should
know that if the world 
is in a mess it is not the fault of Bush and Blair. It is because their
offices face an inauspicious 
direction. 
 
A US-based quantum physicist has discovered the secret of world peace. All
will be well if the 
south-facing entrances to the White House and 10 Downing Street are closed. 

He claims no credit for this discovery but attributes it to India’s
unpatented traditional 
knowledge -- Vedic architecture. 

Dr John Hagelin, President of what he calls the US Peace Government, has told
both Mr George 
Bush and Mr Tony Blair that they should close the south-facing entrances. 
 

This will be a stop-gap arrangement and later they must move to properly
designed buildings. 
Improper design of government buildings promotes disorderly thinking and
infighting, he says. 

Sceptics may say that the US has done quite well over the decades despite the
White House 
entrance facing an inauspicious direction. But Dr Hagelin has perhaps the
world’s welfare in 
mind. 

In fact, he wants all the leaders of wold to check their buildings. They
should flee such 
buildings as if these have been hit by an earthquake, he says. 

Dr Hagelin says the south-facing entrances are having deleterious effects on
their brain 
functioning and orderliness of thinking. If they shut these entrances, they
will make wiser, more 
intelligent decisions for their people and the world. 

Dr Hagelin wants the Indian government to abandon the Parliament buildings in
New Delhi 
because of their skewed entrances. 

Perhaps Dr Hagelin knows that the Indian Prime Ministers have been working in
an office that 
does not face south, though it is called South Block. 

Dr Hagelin says “divisive and destructive government policies will become
more coherent and 
harmonious overnight if government leaders live and work in buildings that are
properly 
designed according to the principles of ancient Vedic architect are in harmony
with natural law.” 

Bush and Blair may ignore this advice at their own peril at a time when they
are not sailing 
smoothly. 

Dr Hagelin has urged government leaders to replace the old buildings with
properly oriented, 
“fortune-creating” offices and residences that face the rising sun in the
east. Such buildings will 
promote harmony and success for the government, and peace and prosperity for
the nation. 

Dr Hagelin claims recent medical research shows a marked improvement in the
efficiency of 
neuronal functioning when the head is oriented towards the east compared to
the south. The 
positive effects of a proper eastern orientation on the brain and behaviour
are being 
documented by science. 

He says Vedic architecture has been revived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. About
one billion 
dollars have been invested in the design and construction of Vedic homes and
office buildings 
worldwide in the past decade. 

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi recently launched his Global Reconstruction Programme
for Permanent 
World Peace, and is inviting builders in every country to immediately begin
constructing in every 
city, Peace Colonies of homes and office buildings, as well as Peace Palaces
to teach 
Transcendental Meditation. 

The advice to Mr Bush and Mr Blair is based on some research and not on
mumbo-jumbo. Vedic 
architecture has already made a beginning and some users of the buildings have
claimed a 
remarkable improvement in their well-being. 

The architects and builders, all followers of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi, present
their work at 
professional organisations and are heard with great interest. They have been
joined by some 
neuroscientists. 

According to architect Jonathan Lipman, Vedic architecture promotes
well-being, health and 
success and makes the inhabitants feel more energetic and positive. 

Mr Lipman, chief architect of Maharshi Global Construction, told a gathering
at the National 
Building museum recently that homes built on the principles of Vedic
architecture become 
conduits of cosmic energy. Those who dwell in such houses are happy, healthy
and at peace, he 
said while showing slides. 

A builder, Jeffrey Abramson, said his life changed when he moved to his new
house designed as 
per the Vedic specifications. He and his wife practice Transcendental
Meditation daily. “I felt my 
handcuffs had been taken off”. 

Mr Abramson is putting his money where his mouth is and building a 72-million
dollar building 
project in Maryland, based on the Vedic principles. 

While this traditional wisdom has come from india, some in India tend to
pooh-pooh things like 
Vedic mathematics. 

However, in America as the believers challenge the theory of evolution, there
is a measure of 
acceptance of even "Christian physics".

Dear Alumni and Friends,

1400 fortunate people attended Maharishi's Guru Purnima Celebration this year
in Meru, 
Holland. The event far exceeded anyone's expectations. It was as if Maharishi
was offering the 
lives of everyone there to the lotus feet of Guru Dev. It felt and looked like
Heaven on Earth. 
There were beautiful white tents everywhere, the kind used for Presidential
inaugurations, 
decorated with red carpets, chandeliers, comfortable red velvet chairs, and
banquet halls filled 
with a variety of dishes and desserts served by professional caterers. 

Outside raised walkways were constructed between the tents, covered in green
carpet and 
decorated with small flowering trees. In the central area a pond was created
with flowers 
floating on the water. Children collected precious stones around the grounds
and greeted you 
at the dining entrance with their colorful displays.

At around 3:30 or 4:00 each afternoon a variety of delicious Indian treats and
snacks were 
distributed in all the tents. All the Rajas sat with His Majesty MahaRaj Nadar
Raam, and the 
Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, our dear President Dr.
Bevan Morris, and 
other Ministers each day discussing the implementation of Maharishi's programs
around the 
world. Maharishi frequently remarked how wonderful it was to sit and think
globally with our 
world family. 

During the Guru Purnima Day Maharishi instructed Bevan to tell people where we
stand in time. 
The year is 1,955,855,107. Another perspective is Yudisthir of the Pandavas
which is the year 
5,143. In Shankar Samvatsar, time since Ati Shankaracharya established the
four Mats, the 
Northern Mat - Jyotir Mat, the time counted from him is year 2,513. And then
Maharishi 
Samvatsar is year 50.

It was during this day that Maharishi launched his Global Reconstruction
Program and invited 
builders in every country to begin building Peace Colonies in every city
composed of "fortune-
creating" homes, and Peace Palaces, where Maharishi's Transcendental
Meditation and other 
Vedic-science-based programs will be taught to promote enlightenment for the
individual and 
permanent peace for the world. Many of Europe's top builders came to the Rajas
Tent to meet 
with the Rajas and His Excellency Dr. Eike Hartmann to commit their time and
resources toward 
this project. 

During this week's Global Press Conference, Bevan gave a beautiful summary of
Maharishi's 
desires for the world that were laid out during the Guru Purnima celebration.
He said that 
globally we want a grand unified world. This hope has come in the midst of
Maharishi's analysis 
of the history of the world.

Government is based upon man-made laws instead of the laws that run the
universe - the 
Constitution of the Universe. The result is a never-ending search for a better
administration. 
The present system of government, democracy, has proven to be a divider of
nations and a 
failure to provide solutions to the problems and suffering of society.

Yet when we speak to governments and show them using scientific evidence how
that system is 
failing, they have deaf ears. Maharishi explains that these leaders have
subjected themselves to 
drugs, alcohol, poisonous foods and medications. In addition, the buildings
where they reside 
and work are damaging to their fortune, clarity of thought, and ability to
understand. 

Maharishi says it is like they are running into a fire and he is telling them
don't do it, don't run 
into the gates of hell. But this is related to the destiny of the world -as
you sow, so shall you 
reap. Maharishi has always done what ever he can to help change that. 50 years
ago he started 
teaching the Transcendental Meditation program to the entire human race so
that every adult 
and student can experience all possibilities in their own awareness. This
experience alone 
awakens the total functioning of the brain.

>From our own experience as alumni, we know habituating our self to that
unbounded ocean of 
consciousness, the field in which the whole universe is floating, creates the
most powerful 
thinking. With more and more people learning Transcendental Meditation and the
TM-Sidhi 
program the coherence in national consciousness will raise to a level where
government leaders 
will begin to make better decisions.

But the other thing Maharishi is focusing on and he invites us to help is to
reconstruct the world 
according to the principals of Vedic Architecture in harmony with Natural Law

  and as many of us remember, Maharishi International University. How can we 
  ever begin to thank Maharishi for all the love, precious wisdom, and great 
  patience he has bestowed upon us throughout the years?Let's 
  celebrate together this coming Monday evening, September 12. Plans are still in the works. We are hopeful to 
  connect with Holland or at least have some inspirational words. Locally, I 
  would like to invite all those who wish to share in the "yagya" of 
  thanksgiving to our Founder, to help bake sweets and treats and bring them 
  to the Dome Monday evening, bring flowers or plants to help decorate the

[FairfieldLife] Founders Day Postponed 'til Fri 9/16 - Alumni Lunch

Dear Alumni and Friends,

We wanted to let you know (just as soon as we knew) that H.E. Dr. Bevan Morris has asked us to 
postpone the Founder's Day Celebration from its traditional day, September 12, and combine it 
with this month's Full Moon Celebration.

So there will be a glorious combined celebration in the Men's Dome this coming Friday, 
September 16, at 8:00 p.m. Details will follow, but we anticipate a very special evening, 
including some of the latest news from Holland. 

Also. . .Founders Day Al um ni Re un io n! Event
Friday afternoon 12:00 - 1:15 a fun time will be had by all who attend lunch at Annapurna 
(Student Union). Share stories with classmates while we share photos of the golden olden days. 
Lunch is $7.00. Party will be in the room straight ahead as you enter the dining hall. RSVP so we 
can estimate how much space we need.

See you there and remember, support nature and It will support you. Over 1000 people recently 
visited Maharishi Vedic City, mostly from around the state. Guess what was the most popular 
feature? Yep, Yogic Flying demonstrations. People were glued to their chairs and with beaming 
smiles asked me how long it would take them to learn. So let's all celebrate Founders Day 
together starting with group program. We don't have that far to go. And the foam is already set 
up!

[FairfieldLife] What Katrina revealed

Hurricane Katrina has been, first and foremost, a human disaster -- a
seemingly 
endless tale of suffering marked by lives lost, communities dispersed and 
families torn asunder. Our hearts go out to the hundreds of thousands of 
displaced people who are now struggling to piece some semblance of their lives

back together.

NRDC is doing all that we can -- as I'm sure you are -- to aid the ongoing 
relief effort in the Gulf states. We're also contributing our special
expertise 
on oil spills, toxic pollution and drinking water in order to help meet the 
immediate challenges.

As the flood waters begin receding, Americans are also beginning to gain some

much-needed perspective on our fragile place in the natural world. Few events

in our lifetime have revealed so dramatically the deep interconnectedness 
between people and nature.

As an environmental organization, NRDC has a profound obligation to ensure
that 
the environmental lessons of this disaster are not only learned, but that they

are heard loud and clear in our nation's capital. Hurricane Katrina destroyed

more than human lives and homes. She also blew away a decade's worth of denial

about major environmental problems that confront America.

Katrina destroyed the fantasy that we can blithely go on increasing our 
dangerous dependence on oil -- whether imported or domestic. Our oil-addicted

economy is just too vulnerable to supply disruptions, as anyone who filled up

their gas tank last week discovered. The solution is NOT to drill and destroy

the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- or our beautiful coastlines -- as many

in Congress are now suggesting. Drilling in the Arctic would not have any 
impact on gas prices until 2025, and even then it would only reduce prices at

the pump by a trivial 1.5 cents per gallon. Our nation simply does not have 
enough oil reserves to affect world oil prices. The only way out of this mess

is to reduce our appetite for oil by improving the fuel economy of our
vehicles 
(which consume 40 percent of our oil) and by relying on smarter, cleaner and 
renewable ways to power our economy.

Katrina also exposed the fiction that we can dredge, bulldoze and fill
millions 
of acres of coastal wetlands without paying a price. Wetland ecosystems are 
Mother Nature's perfect buffer against catastrophic storm surges. Destroy that

buffer and you destroy the last line of defense, not only for New Orleans but

for a host of other American cities. In this case, as in so many others,
what's 
good for the wildlife of coastal America is also indispensable to its people.

We are part of nature.

Katrina demolished the pretense that we needn't reckon with global warming. 
While no single hurricane can be directly linked to global warming, climate 
scientists agree that we are entering an epoch of warming oceans, rising sea 
levels and much more intense storms. We know full well what kind of pollution

controls are required to reverse this trend. If we don't act, Katrina will be

our future. You can't say she didn't warn us.

Finally, Katrina tore the lid off one of our nation's most shameful truths: 
that petrochemical plants, toxic waste sites, oil refineries and other 
industrial threats to human health are most often sited next to low-income 
minority communities. The rest of America regularly averts its eyes from this

injustice. But with the poorest neighborhoods of New Orleans drowning in a 
hazardous sea of fuel, sewage and chemicals, it's hard not to notice just
which 
of our citizens are paying the ultimate price.

Oil addiction. Wetland destruction. Global warming. Environmental injustice. 
You're well aware that NRDC has been working for years to awaken America to 
these terrible problems and to champion urgently needed solutions. But Katrina

has changed everything. The public is finally paying attention. And officials

in Washington are looking to respond.

Our challenge is making sure our leaders take away the right lessons from this

disaster and respond with real solutions, not with the old ways of thinking or

business-as-usual giveaways to well-connected industries.

It won't be easy. The Bush administration and congressional leaders have spent

the last four years digging us ever deeper into a hole of oil dependence, 
wetland destruction, global warming pollution and environmental injustice.
It's 
unspeakably tragic that it took a deadly hurricane to expose this gaping
crater.

There's an old proverb that says, "If you find yourself in a hole, stop 
digging." Getting our leaders to stop digging will be a tall order. But with 
more hurricanes sure to follow in Katrina's wake, we have no choice but to 
dedicate ourselves to the task at hand. As always, NRDC will be counting on 
your commitment, your support and your activism at every step of the way.

Dear Governors, Sidhas, and Meditators:

After many years of service to the Florida community and those coming 
from many other areas of the country, the Maharishi Vedic School at Avon 
Park is ceasing operations. The facility has been sold and no further 
courses will be offered, as we are starting to make preparations to move 
out. We are also at the early stages of planning a new facility at a 
different location, built in proper Vastu, acccording to the principles 
of Sthapatya Veda.

We want to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to those of you who throughout 
the years have been attending the many courses and activities offered at 
the School, and those of you who have supported this Maharishi facility 
through hard work, dedication, and financial contributions. We remind 
those fortunate ones of the old saying "As you sow, so shall you reap".

As you may imagine, the coming weeks will be very busy for us at Avon 
Park. There are two areas of activity uppermost in our minds: moving 
trucks and storage facilities. If any of you can offer any assitance in 
those areas, we will be very grateful.

We would like to ask those who have sponsored rooms, to make 
arrangements to retrieve the furniture in your rooms. Ideally this would 
have to be accomplished by September 30. Please let us know if you are 
coming, or if you would like us to dispose of the furniture. We 
anticipate that some items will be placed in refrigerated storage, some 
may be transferred to other movement facilities, and some will be 
donated to needy individuals or charitable institutions.

Again, thank you very much for your attendance and dedication to create 
coherence for yourselves and the State of Florida. Although we don't 
have objective measures, we are sure that this facility has made an 
important difference in the life of all the residents of the State. We 
will keep in touch, and expect to see many of you at our new facility, 
whenever that manifests.

Poll: Storm Changed Americans Attitudes

<...> As the Gulf Coast braces for another monster storm, a new Associated
Press-Ipsos poll shows Katrina prompted a rethinking of some signature
issues in American life — changing the way we view race and our safety, how
we spend our money, even where we live.

<...> Katrina's reach in American life is vast: 1 in 3 Americans believes
the slow response will harm race relations. Two-thirds say surging gas
prices will cause hardship for their families. Half say the same of higher
food prices.

In Las Cruces, N.M., Ariana Darley relies on carpools to get to parenting
classes, or to make doctor's appointments with her 1-year-old son, Jesse.
Before, she chipped in $5 for gas. Now, she pays $10 to $15.

<...> After a crisis with indisputable elements of race and class — searing
images of mostly poor, mostly black New Orleans residents huddled on
rooftops or waiting in lines for buses — some Americans worry about strains
in the nation's social fabric.

<...> The poll underscores the literal reach of Katrina as well: 55 percent
of Americans say evacuees from Katrina have turned up in their cities or
communities, raising concerns about living conditions for the refugees,
vanishing jobs for locals and -- among 1 in 4 respondents -- increased
crime.

<...> Ann McMullen, 52, of Killeen, Texas, who works as a school
administrator at Fort Hood, says she worries about gang violence, simply
because of the prodigious numbers of people flowing into Texas communities.

"They can't even locate the sex offenders," she says. "And every population
has gang members. It's theft, it's murder, it's more chaotic crimes in the
community. Hopefully we'll be able to put these people back to work."

The poll also exposes a divide among Americans in how the government should
respond when disasters strike areas particularly prone to catastrophe --
landslides, earthquakes, hurricanes. Half say the government should give
people in those zones money for recovery, but almost as many say those
people should live there at their own risk.

About 4 in 10 say the government should prohibit people from building new
homes in those endangered areas in the first place. As McMullen puts it:
"You're asking for another disaster to happen."

Katrina has also raised grave doubts among Americans about just who will
protect them in the aftermath of a natural disaster or a terrorist attack.

Only about a quarter of Americans believe the federal government was as
prepared as it should have been to cope with a disaster of Katrina's
magnitude. Only slightly more than half, 54 percent, are confident in the
federal government's ability to handle a future major disaster.

Reed Chadwick, a 33-year-old software programmer from Herriman, Utah, has
made a mental list of the organizations he can count on should Mother Nature
or terrorists strike -- church first, then local government, then the feds.

company, had a margin of potential sampling error of plus or minus 3
percentage points.

  If you arrived on time to see filmmaker David Lynch talk about 
  transcendental meditation last night at the Power Center, you were already 
  too late. The venue was packed to capacity. 
  Harried Power Center employees with walkie-talkies loudly stated, again 
  and again, that there were no available seats anywhere in the building, 
  but dozens of people nonetheless lingered at both ground floor entrances, 
  hoping a spot would miraculously open up. (Despite early reports that 
  equipment had not been set up to provide video feed of the talk, those who 
  stayed did eventually get to hear and see most of Lynch's presentation by 
  way of television monitors in the lobby.) 
  The evening's program began with opening remarks from Ed Sarath, a 
  University of Michigan jazz professor and the director and founder of 
  U-M's Program in Creativity and Consciousness Studies (which sponsored 
  Lynch's appearance, along with U-M Integrative Medicine, the Center for 
  Urban Innovation, and the Program in Film and Video Studies). 
  Next, Teresa Adams, administrative assistant for PCCS, provided an 
  introduction for Lynch, listing his achievements in film as well as his 
  broad range of artistic interests (sculpting, painting, photography, 
  etc.). Adams then announced that Lynch would take questions immediately, 
  so audience members moved to line up behind two microphones. 
  As they made their way, Lynch - dressed in a suit, with his thick, gray 
  hair neatly swept back - stepped to the podium and explained that he had 
  started out his career as a painter; the idea of a moving painting was 
  what started him in the direction of animation and, ultimately, film. 
  The first person at the microphone wanted to give Lynch his resume. 
  Lynch said, "Are you a transcendental meditator?'' to which the questioner 
  quipped, "I will be, if you take a look at this.'' 
  Throughout the evening, Lynch nearly always steered his answers back to 
  the topic of TM - a form of meditation that aims to bring the body into a 
  deep state of rest while the mind becomes calm yet alert - but he also 
  offered occasional nuggets of humorous advice, such as: "Always write your 
  ideas down, because if you don't and you forget them, you'll feel like 
  committing suicide.'' 
  One audience member asked about the role of music in Lynch's films. 
  "Every element in a film is important,'' said Lynch. "The trick is to get 
  each element to blend with the whole.'' 
  Another attendee wanted to know when the second season of "Twin Peaks'' 
  would be released, but Lynch couldn't provide an answer. 
  In response to a question about whether or not he would take on science 
  fiction again (Lynch directed "Dune''), Lynch said, "A lot of films deal 
  with consciousness and different dimensions and all kinds of stuff. But I 
  like real things - not to fiddle around with fiction, but to find the 
  truth of a thing.'' 
  Soon, Lynch introduced Dr. John Hagelin, a physicist (featured in the 
  documentary, "What the Bleep Do We Know?'') who discussed how he believed 
  TM had the capacity to cause positive worldwide political, social, and 
  intellectual shifts. "We could see a more fundamental unity of man - 
  though it's not happening very fast with this current administration,'' 
  Hagelin said, drawing applause. 
  Hagelin spoke about the many advantages of TM for young people, 
  particularly in regard to learning. To follow up, Fred Travis, of the 
  Maharishi University of Management, made a presentation that included 
  watching the brain activity of an audience volunteer. (The demonstration 
  showed how the brain activity of an active mind differed from that of a 
  mind at rest.) 
  Lynch then returned to the podium to take a few final questions. One 
  attendee expressed a religion-based skepticism of TM. "I was raised 
  Christian,'' replied Lynch. "I love Jesus, and people from all religions 
  practice transcendental meditation. ... I believe all the great religions 
  are rivers running to one ocean. ... There's no conflict.'' 
  Lynch later expressed his own initial resistance to the idea of 
  meditation. "I thought meditation was a waste of time,'' said Lynch. "I 
  didn't know what in the heck they were doing. But then I saw the faces of 
  yogis sitting in a forest, meditating, and they didn't look homeless. They

[FairfieldLife] Important Message from Raja LoPinto of Potomac Vedic America

Dear 
Governors and Sidhas,As many of you may already know, Maharishi has 
asked Raja Dean and his family to move into the Peace Palace and utilize the 
entire second floor so that their family may be comfortable.  This is a 
great blessing for our community and for the world as Maharishi continues to 
direct his attention to our area and specifically to the critical need for 
greater coherence in Washington , DC, where, Maharishi recently told me, “The 
national stress is making the President so wild."  Maharishi has great 
concern about the destructive policies of our nation’s leaders, and is now 
directing Raja Dean’s activities daily to expand our Movement in Washington and 
thereby purify and bring coherence to that city.  Accordingly, 
  Maharishi feels that it is critical for Raja Dean and his family to 
be in proper vastu so that they may experience maximum support of Nature for the 
important role he is engaged in.  In the coming weeks and months, you will 
hear more about these new activities of our Movement’s expansion in 
Washington.Our community has always been at the forefront in our 
Movement of completely embracing Maharishi’s wishes and Divine guidance — our 
having built the first Peace Palace is but one symbol of that.  And it is 
clear that Maharishi knows and appreciates this, which is another reason why his 
attention has increasingly been on our Peace Palace and region as evidenced by 
him making this a Time Zone Capital, having Vedic Experts living here, having 
daily live Vedic Recitations at the Peace Palace (Maharishi had us place a 
network camera in the Hall of Knowledge so he can watch this each day via the 
internet), and his having sent Raja Dean and his family here from Richmond to 
purify and expand our Movement in Washington.  This is a beautiful and rare 
thing in our Movement, and all of you are to be congratulated and blessed for 
your persistent vision and support. I should note that Maharishi had 
requested this move over 6 months ago and continues to ask Raja Dean if he has 
done it.  However, Raja Dean delayed moving in for many months because of 
his concern for displacing group program and the people working in the building. 
 But Maharishi’s focus is on the whole world and the influential role that 
Washington plays in it, and so he persisted in asking Raja Dean to make the move 
immediately.  Raja Dean had recently moved into all but the flying halls, 
but has now completed their move and so the program has temporarily been 
relocated to a neighboring building that we have rented for this purpose (see 
information below).Our community’s great vision and steadfast commitment 
to Maharishi has also brought us the good fortune of being the first community 
to have a second Peace Palace where land has been purchased.  Through the 
efforts of Jeffrey Abramson, this new building is in the governmental approval 
process, which we expect will be completed within the coming months.  While 
this is happening, we are also working on obtaining financing for the building 
so that we can begin construction upon obtaining the approvals.  After 
completion of this new Peace Palace, our group program will once again return to 
the Peace Palace(s), and from this bastion of bliss that we are creating from 
our “campus” in North Bethesda, our region will begin to burst forth in the 
Light of God and assume its rightful role of leading the world in peace and 
harmony.I know that I speak for all of us when I say that our commitment 
is based on our dear love for Maharishi, for the great Vedic Knowledge that he 
has revived in its purity and has brought to all of us and the world, and for 
all that Maharishi is doing to rid the world of suffering and discomfort and 
bring peace and harmony to the minds and hearts of all mankind.  We are 
Maharishi’s Movement, all of us, and you are all the greatest examples of this 
Movement.  The history books and all future generations will offer great 
thanks to your leadership in this cause of all causes!I know you will 
all join me in continuing to warmly embrace our dear Raja Dean and his family, 
and to offer all of our support to make them as comfortable as possible in their 
new home.Finally, I would like to have a meeting with our entire 
community in the coming weeks and will send an email announcement about that in

Moon will pass through Ardra on Saturday and just like 
the last 3 times, we are looking at another Massive hurricane when it does. 
here is a dalogue i had w/ someone on another list about this:he

signs) *Katrina happened when Jupiter and Venus (two water PLANETS) were 
also harmed in Virgo (Jupiter in enemy's sign - Venus Debilitated) * 
Rita happened after Venus left debility and was in Libra, (her own signs) thus 
not as bad as expected. * Wilma is now happening and Venus is in 
Scorpio, (ruled by a powerful Mars - the other water sign) so look out. The Sun 
is also Debilitated and Jupiter is combust and in Libra. (not a strong sign) 
In Jyotish, it is quite clear - at least to me it is. I 
predicted water troubles early this year, but i suspected terrorist, poisoning 
the water supply or something. (as the north node also rules poisons and 
radiation) Instead we have had these hurricanes. Which BTW, have led to major 
water concerns and poisoning. I knew there would be some major water problems, i 
was just not seeing the obvious, hurricanes - Weather patterns. This is 
a new type of Astorlogy for me to be learning about. he

reason for it, (I am paraphrasing of course) the posting is in here somewhere. - 
if anyone cares to look,, I cited Node in PIsces, Saturn in cancer, Mars 
in Aries Soon to be retro. Jup and Venus harmed, Ardra Nakshatra. Since 
then 2 more times, astoundingly! - right now the Moon is 3 days from Ardra, so 
in 3 days (saturday) we will be dealing w/ massiva amounts of water and flooding 
- probably starting the day before as happened w/ Rita.. Mars's Nakshatra 
Mrgashira is he day before Ardra.

Meditation calms the mind, lengthens life: study

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Increasing evidence suggests that transcendental 
meditation may not only reduce stress, but also may help adults with high blood 
pressure to live longer, according to a new study.
"There are many non-drug techniques for reducing blood pressure, but 
none...extend life," study author Dr. Robert H. Schneider, of the Maharishi 
University of Management in Iowa, told Reuters Health.
He added that the current study shows that "you can live longer with a 
mind-body intervention."
Transcendental meditation is a technique for calming the body and mind, to 
allow individuals to enter a state of "restful alertness," in which the body is 
awake but the mind is not engaged in conscious thought. It is a method of 
"waking up the body's own self-repair mechanisms," Schneider said.
The new report, published in this month's American Journal of Cardiology, is 
based on a review of data from two studies that showed that transcendental 
meditation helped decrease blood pressure among white and African-American 
adults, respectively. Schneider and his team evaluated the association between 
the meditation technique and risk of death among the study participants.
The two studies included 202 men and women, about 72 years old on average, 
who had pre-hypertension or mild hypertension. They were assigned to a 
transcendental meditation group, or to various comparison groups of other 
relaxation techniques.
Participants in the two studies were followed for about eight years on 
average -- a maximum of nearly 19 years -- during which 101 individuals 
died.
Overall, men and women who practiced transcendental meditation not only had 
lower blood pressures than those in the other groups, but were also 23 percent 
less likely to die from any cause, Schneider and his team report. In particular, 
they were 30 percent less likely to die from cardiovascular disease and 49 
percent less likely to die from cancer.
The "integrated holistic" transcendental meditation technique does not have 
any harmful side effects, Schneider said.
Schneider is the director of the Institute for Natural Medicine 
and Prevention, funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Center 
for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

i am curious, in what sense did you "win"
over the TMO? was it a "moral victory"
where you just persevered and nobody
was gonna stop you?

or was it a legal victory, setting a legal
precedent for "independent" TM teaching.

a friend of mine has been teaching TM
at the old rates for quite some time, and
he is always busy initiating new people.

samadhi is flat kaivalya (point) until 
you learn how to function from within it, 
by doing Samyama. this practise develops 
Siddhis (powers)...but not at the expense

in the sequence of development of c'ness,
from CC to GC, kaivalya is no longer seen as
flat, as in Yoga literature...it now is lively 
(enlivened by sanyama) in the Karma Mimamsa

We have recently completed the First Governor 
Recertification Course and are both feeling very honored and fortunate to have 
been assigned to Maharishi Vedic City for our Peace Palace city!
 
We have great good news to share with you regarding the 
Peace Palace project for Maharishi Vedic City.  Yesterday the Mayor of the 
city, His Highness Raja Wynne, donated the necessary land for the entire Peace 
Palace complex (about 9 acres).  This kind and generous action on Raja 
Wynne's part ensures a permanent home for all aspects of Maharishi's Vedic 
Knowledge in our beloved city, for ourselves and for all generations to 
come.
 
The land is located at the center of the city, just 
west of the Brahmasthan of the city, so that both the Men's and Ladies' Peace 
Palaces will face east towards the Brahmasthan and overlook that beautiful open 
space where Sat Yuga will descend in Maharishi Vedic City.
 
We will get the exact parcel of land surveyed and 
staked in the next few days, so that everyone knows exactly where the Peace 
Palaces will rise up!!
 
The Peace Palaces will house all of Maharishi's 
programs.  Both the Men's and Ladies' Peace Palaces will offer all aspects 
of Maharishi's Total Knowledge--the Transcendental Meditation Program, the 
Advanced Techniques, the TM Sidhi Program, Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology, 
the Maharishi Jyotish Consultations and Yagya program (the yagyas will be 
performed in India), PK and M Spa treatments, MAPI products for sale, Maharishi 
Sthapatya Veda, yogic flying halls, Maharishi Vedic Organic restaurants, 
festival halls, and so forth.  Everything that we need for our personal 
evolution and the well being of the whole world will be available to us in the 
Peace Palaces!
 
In the perfect vastu of the Peace Palaces, Maharishi's 
Knowledge will be kept pure and complete for all suceeding generations of 
Maharishi Vedic City residents.  These beautiful marble buildings will 
house the full glory of the perfection of Total Knowledge which has come to us

an overview of the Peace Palaces themselves (click where it says "3000 Peace

version, but will give everyone a very good idea of what is planned.  In 
Maharishi Vedic City we will have the grand configuration of a tower in the 
center, flanked by a Men's and Ladies' Peace Palace, with many annexes at the 
rear which will house the clinics, flying halls, restaurants, etc.
 
We know that all of you will be as excited as we are 
about this project!!  The Peace Palaces will be the heart and soul of our 
city and of our Vedic way of life which we enjoy here in Maharishi Vedic 
City.
 
We invite everyone to participate in raising 
the money to build these palaces of knowledge.  We hope that everyone 
will donate generously to the project!!  Also, you may invest in the 
project either through buying World Peace Bonds (sold to "qualified investors" 
only), and through other interest-paying loans.  The Global Country of 
World Peace will own the Peace Palaces, so any donation you make or money 
you loan will be to the Global Country.
 
We will soon be opening temporary offices in the 
Central Bank building, which will serve us until we can construct our beautiful 
Peace Palaces.  But until we have that office up and running, please feel 
free to contact us at our homes.  We welcome everyone's participation as we 
work together to manifest the Peace Palaces.  Having the land is such a 
beautiful and substancial first step!!

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi announced this week that his Global Country of World 
Peace will adopt three or four nations and raise each country to invincibility through the science 
and technology of Total Natural Law. For this, Maharishi said, large groups of Yogic Flyers will 
quickly be established in each adopted country to create coherent collective 
consciousness—the basis of invincibility for the nation.  Maharishi's new 
initiative is the second phase of his programme to create permanent world peace. The first 
phase was launched last month. Large numbers of peace-creating Vedic Pandits in India have 
begun creating a holistic rise of coherence in world consciousness—and as a result, are 
producing a significant increase in positive trends in different parts of the globe.  
The remarkable success of the first phase of Maharishi's global peace programme has been 
documented during the past month by world press reports that show, for example, historically 
unprecedented reductions in tensions and improved relations between formerly hostile nations, 
such as India and Pakistan, and China and Taiwan. 'We see these reports of warring nations 
coming together to talk peacefully as the sign of rising positivity in world consciousness,' 
Maharishi said.  Maharishi's announcements came during his 11 May global news 
conference, which was broadcast live to the press on all continents via satellite and internet 
webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland.   
Second phase of Maharishi's global peace programme to begin soon  
Maharishi said the second phase of his global peace programme will begin soon. Maharishi said 
he will identify the adopted countries during an upcoming global news conference, and added 
that these adopted countries will not be small nations—they will have substantial 
populations. 'The world press will then be able to report the good news of rising positivity in 
these individual countries—as well as continue to report on the overall good news 
coming from around the globe as the Vedic Pandits in India create a holistic influence of 
coherence in world consciousness,' Maharishi said.  Maharishi withdraws his 
Transcendental Meditation Movement from England—the destroyer of the world 
 Maharishi issued another dramatic announcement during his news conference. 
Maharishi said he has withdrawn his Transcendental Meditation Movement from England 
following the recent re-election of Prime Minister Tony Blair. 'When we are fulfilling our parental 
role in the family of nations by adopting a few countries and making them invincible, we are 
also rejecting one nation—Britain—which has proven to be a poisonous, divisive 
influence in the world family,' Maharishi said. 'The good effects of Transcendental 
Meditation—increased creativity and long life—should not be given to a dangerous 
country that is constantly busy destroying the world. Transcendental Meditation is a gift from 
me to those who want to create peace and harmony in the world.' The teachers of the 
Transcendental Meditation Movement—those who can go out—will leave England 
and go to other countries to live and teach.  Vedic Pandits are saving the world 
from destruction  In response to a press question, Maharishi explained that the 
power of positivity rising from India and radiating throughout the world is being produced by 
the Vedic Pandits in India, who are utilizing the technology of Total Natural Law—the 
technology of cosmic creative intelligence—which governs the universe with perfect 
order. 'The evolutionary power of Total Natural Law is infinitely powerful—more powerful 
than any destructive force,' Maharishi said. 'Through their practice of Yogic Flying and 
performance of  Vedic Yagyas and Grahashanti, the Vedic Pandits are quietly enlivening 
Total Natural Law—the Will of God—and creating coherence in national and world 
consciousness. In this way, the Vedic Pandits are saving the world from destruction.'  
Vedic Pandits are waking up to their responsibility due to fear of annihiliation 
 Maharishi noted that many Vedic Pandits in the northern provinces of India are 
utilizing his peace-creating technologies—and they are doing so out of fear of 
annihilation. 'These Vedic Pandits have suddenly realized that Pakistan has enough nuclear 
weapons to destroy everyone in the northern border provinces overnight,' Maharishi said. 'So 
now, suddenly, they are waking up to their responsibility to use this Vedic technology—
this 'magic wand'—to quietly create coherent collective consciousness from within their 
own homes.'  Maharishi said the coherent influence radiating from northern India is 
starting to create coherence

The Starting Date for the Next Governor Recertification Course Has Been

The starting date for the next Governor Recertification Course has been
changed to the full moon of June -- Wednesday, June 22, 2005. Maharishi
would again like to give his full attention to the course, and it is being
rescheduled so that the maximum number of participants will be able to
attend and enjoy this precious opportunity to gain the latest knowledge and
interact with Maharishi via live videoconference.

As all the Governors who attended the last course will confirm, this is an
incredible opportunity.

To attend the next course it will be necessary to apply before June 7th.
Maharishi would like to know how many will be attending 15 days before the
course begins.

There have been questions regarding the Governor Recertification Course and
the activities of the newly recertified Governors. The information below is
provided to answer those questions.

What are the requirements for attending the next Governor Recertification
course?
This course is for Governors who will take responsibility for the Movement's
activities in a particular city. This means establishing a Maharishi Peace
Palace or Maharishi Enlightenment Center and organizing to offer a full
ranges of programs and services including education, health, global
reconstruction, Vedic agriculture, and Vedic administration. The course is
available to those who will be full-time in this important activity. Each
applicant for the course must specify the city they will be taking. The
course is no longer available to those who plan to return to positions with
other Movement organizations including our universities and schools.

What cities are available?
To attend the course, you should select five Peace Palace city preferences
from the list of cities shown on the application page for the domain of
Vedic America. If all of those five locations are already taken we will
contact you for other alternatives. If you will be going to another Raja's
domain, you may select that domain from the pull-down menu at the top of the
Vedic America application page.

Do I need special skills in advertising, finance, construction, and other
fields to be the Director for a City?
No special skills are needed. What you do need is the knowledge you will
gain on the Governor Recertification Course. And you need to be committed to
a city and to carry out the activities there. Everything for the Maharishi
Enlightenment Centers and Peace Palaces is being organized centrally -- all
the advertising, exhibitions, materials, financing, policies, etc. Even all
the accounting is being done at a national level.

What are the activities of the Director?
The first is to do a long program and you will gain that instruction on the
course. That is the basis for everything else you will be doing. The other
activities are to lease space where programs and services will be offered,
make arrangements with a secretarial service to answer the telephone, enter
into an agreement with a major newspaper to carry advertisements twice a
week, and to hire assistants to help you in each of the 5 program areas and
licensed massage therapists to deliver the day spa programs. Then you will
oversee these activities and provide the instruction in the Transcendental
Meditation® program.

What type of space will I rent and who will pay for the space?
You will rent space where programs can be delivered immediately -- a
Maharishi Enlightenment Center -- before the Peace Palace is built. This
space may be in a mall, shopping center, office building, or hotel. It will
include 10-12 rooms and be about 3,000 square feet. The costs of the
secretarial service, leased space, and advertisements are paid for by the
Global Country of World Peace.

What responsibilities will I have for building the Peace Palace?
The first thing is to find the land and get that approved. The land will be
owned by Global Country of World Peace. Advertising will be prepared
nationally for fundraising. You need to place the ads in the same way you
place advertising for your programs. You may be asked to meet with a local
bank about financing. Your Raja will give you information you need to do
this. In the future, memberships, loans, or bonds may be offered. All the
planning, materials, and legalities of this will be worked out at a national
level. On the construction issue, all the Peace Palaces are standard designs
and components will be ordered centrally and shipped to each Peace Palace
location. You may be asked to submit the plans to the local government
agency that issues building permits or to do other activities. But you will
not be responsible for designing the Peace Palace or planning the
construction.

Lawyer Harish Bharti, filed a class-action lawsuit against the company, 
accusing the chain of deception in its claims of cooking fries in 100 
per cent vegetable oil. The maximum compensation of $1.4 million, or 14 
per cent of the award, was for Vegetarian Resource Group, followed by 
$1 million for North American Vegetarian Society. Other groups include 
Muslim Consumer Group for Food Products ($100,000), International 
American Gita Society ($50,000), Hindu Heritage Endowment ($250,000), 
Council of Hindu Temples of North America ($200,000), Guru Harkrishan 
Institute of Sikh Studies ($50,000), Hindu Students Council ($500,000), 
Jewish Community Centres Association ($200,000) and Tufts University 
($850,000). The funds are intended to provide education and research 
into a healthy vegetarian diet as well as religious dietary laws and 
restrictions. Muslim and Jewish groups were included because the 
undisclosed beef additive was neither halal or kosher.

Paul McCartney on Maharishi

Former Beatle Paul McCartney was the guest on The Charlie Rose Show on PBS
[US public broadcasting system] on Monday June 11, 2001. The interview
lasted 55 min. Charlie Rose's last question was "What do you look forward to
at this stage in your life?"

Paul answered that he looked forward to enjoying life. He shifted
immediately into talking about meditation and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi,
speaking of the value of the balancing and centering effects of
Transcendental Meditation --"it's always something you can come back to". He
spoke of how nice it was being with Maharishi in India in the 60's, saying
that Maharishi was the real thing, and that a lot of teachers or gurus of
that time were going around in Rolls Royces, with actresses, but that
Maharishi had done none of that. He added that before the Beatles left
India, Maharishi gave them signed copies of his book [probably "The Science
of Being and the Art of Living"], which Paul indicated was full of wisdom.
Paul spoke of his interest in seeing what Maharishi had written "Radiate
bliss consciousness. ENJOY."

Paul spoke of how important it was to enjoy one's life, and of his trip to
see Maharishi in Holland about 18 months ago. He said Maharishi is now in
his 80's, still working, and very vital and lively. Paul's two children
accompanied him. Before going in, they were told that it wasn't possible to
know how long the meeting would last--it might be short if Maharishi was
tired. The meeting lasted over 4 hours. Paul's daughter asked him if she
could shoot some video; Maharishi said of course it was okay. Paul's
daughter took the camera, and asked: "What do you have to say to the camera,
Maharishi?" He laughed and said, "ENJOY!"

Paul's comment on this to Charlie Rose was "Very consistent after 30
years!".

University Seeks to Fill Varied Staff Positions

Owing to the usual turnaround, staff becoming students, and newly
recertified Governors leaving, the University is currently seeking to fill a
variety of skilled and administrative positions.

The many opportunities range from administrative assistants and Admissions
representatives to Library personnel and a customer service representative
in the press. Also needed are people to help on the University farms.

As part of a new direction, some positions may be qualified as hourly wage
jobs, but most are for those eager to join the Ideal Administrator program
and be on campus.

The hourly positions will be competitive with other office positions in
Fairfield, said Lura Harding of the personnel office.

But Ms. Harding feels that the greater opportunity is the Ideal
Administrator program in which employees can live in an environment that is
supportive of the practice of the Transcendental Meditation® and TM-Sidhi®
programs and work with like-minded people enthusiastic about Maharishi's
programs.

She said that many people join staff in order to learn the TM-Sidhi program.
Making a two-and-a-half-year commitment to the University pays the cost.

"It's awesome < being on a staff program designed by Maharishi has changed
my life," said Ted Walker, who is office manager for Information Systems and
currently taking the TM-Sidhi program. "I'm happier than I've ever been, and

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi this week proclaimed satisfaction with
the progress of the first eight weeks of his program to create permanent
world peace through his Vedic technologies of Total Natural Law. At the
same time, Maharishi pledged to utilise new peace-creating Vedic
approaches to more quickly create a bright future for the world family.

Maharishi's pronouncement came during his May 25 global news conference,
which was broadcast live via Internet webcast and satellite from the
Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland.

Two months ago, Maharishi announced that he had launched his global peace
program. Maharishi said that large numbers of peace-creating Vedic Pandits
had been established in India. Through their practice of Yogic Flying and
Yagyas, Maharishi said, the Vedic Pandits would enliven Total Natural Law
and create coherence in the collective consciousness of India and the
world-which is the basis of invincibility for every nation.

Since then, world press reports have documented a dramatic rise of
positivity and harmony in India and in different parts of the world (see
www.globalgoodnews.com). For example, press reports show increased harmony
and a more rapid pace of progress towards peace between formerly hostile
nations-and potential nuclear flashpoints-as seen in these recent stories:

. India and Pakistan: "Peace Process Is Irreversible": "After nearly 60
years of hostilities and three wars, the peace process has suddenly gained
momentum and no government or extraneous force can stop it-the peace
process is irreversible."-The Hindu, May 26, 2005

. Israel and Palestine: "Wind of Peace Blowing Over Middle East": "There
is a new wind of peace blowing over the Middle East and no one can stop
it. No one can change history." -Agence France Presse, May 21, 2005

. China and Taiwan: "Ending 60 Years of Hostilities": "The two civil war
enemies closed the book on six decades of hostility. It is clear that the
people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait want peace." -Reuters, April 30,
2005

The world will soon rise to a new level of positivity and coherence

Maharishi acknowledged that even with this global rise of positivity,
areas of negativity remain in the world. "The world press is reporting
signs of harmony in some parts of the world and patches of negativity in
other parts of the world-and this is what we expected," said Maharishi,
who likened the process of purifying world consciousness through his Vedic
technologies to washing a dirty cloth with soapy water. "If you wash the
cloth once, some of the dirt comes out, but some spots remain. However,
with a few more washings, all the spots will go," Maharishi said.

Maharishi said that he will utilise new Vedic approaches to even more
quickly create coherent collective consciousness. "Then the whole world
will rise to a new level of positivity, coherence, and fulfilment that is
free from problems, sickness, and suffering," Maharishi said.

Training course for the world's top scientists in Total Natural Law

Maharishi also announced that he will soon begin a course to train the
world's top scientists in the Total Knowledge of Natural Law to become
leaders of the Peace Government and create ideal administration in their
countries. The scientists are being invited to the training course by Dr.
John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist, President of the US Peace
Government, and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country
of World Peace. The training program will be held via the Internet.

Maharishi said the Peace Governments will restore balance in existing
governments, which have been overwhelmed by the power of dynamism-and, as
a result have been overcome by stress and problems. "There is huge
dynamism in the administration of every nation," Maharishi said. "However,
dynamism emerges from the Unified Field-the field of silence-which quietly
administers the universe with perfect order. The Peace Governments will
utilise the Vedic technologies to enliven silence-the Unified Field-within
the self-referral consciousness of everyone. This will create coherent
collective consciousness and raise every manmade constitution-with its
human weaknesses and human failings-to the level of the flawless
administration of the universe."

"With the blessings of the tradition of Vedic masters,

  A Transcendental Meditation group hopes to build 3,000 worldwide,

  A nonprofit organization founded by followers of Transcendental 
  Meditation guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi wants to open mall-based 
  "enlightenment centers" and multimillion-dollar "peace palaces" in Des 
  Moines, Cedar Rapids and seven other Iowa cities.Global Country of 
  World Peace, the nonprofit organization based in southeastern Iowa's tiny 
  Maharishi Vedic City, is duplicating the effort across the United States 
  as part of a formula for establishing world peace.
  The peace palaces, planned as $3 million projects, will include space 
  for learning and practicing Transcendental Meditation, a day spa, 
  classroom space and retail outlets for herbal products."We've been 
  offering these products and services for 50 years, and we have people 
  trained in doing this, so this is just the rollout," said Bob Wynne, 
  president of Global Country of World Peace and mayor of Maharishi Vedic 
  City. "And it's not just in Iowa, but every state."
  The Iowa cities or metro areas have local directors working this summer 
  to establish mall-based centers - where the palace programs will be 
  offered on a smaller scale. They also will be seeking donations for the 
  palaces in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Ames, Iowa City, Maharishi Vedic City 
  and Fairfield. Similar efforts will begin within a few months in the 
  Waterloo area, as well as in Dubuque and Davenport, Wynne 
  said.Advertisements have been running recently in several Iowa 
  newspapers, directing those interested to a Web site that encourages five 
  to 10 "prominent families of every city to join us in becoming the 
  'founders of the Peace Palace.' " Those families - or donors - are 
  expected to cover the estimated $3 million needed to acquire land and 
  construct the main 12,000-square-foot building and any annex 
buildings.
  "This building and the activities are going to have such a profound 
  effect on the health and well-being of the community as people learn to 
  practice Transcendental Meditation and learn the other methods to 
  strengthen their health. We thought prominent families would want to see 
  this done since they would enjoy the benefits most quickly," said David 
  Sands, co-director of the planned peace palace in Des Moines, where, 
  within a few weeks, the group plans to begin offering programs at a 
  temporary location at 1922 Ingersoll Ave. The programs will eventually 
  move to a site at one of the area's malls.
  Worldwide, 3,000 peace palaces are to be constructed. In the United 
  States, they already exist in Bethesda, Md.; Lexington, Ky.; and Houston, 
  as part of a plan outlined in 2003 by Maharishi, the Indian spiritual 
  leader who introduced the West to Transcendental Meditation.The 
  goal is to "crown humanity with its rightful destiny - to live in 
  permanent peace and radiate Total Natural Law - the light of God - on 
  Earth, thereby ending the age-old legacy of problems and suffering," TM 
  leaders have said.
  Transcendental Meditation, which participants believe is key to 
  personal peace and, ultimately, world peace, is described as a simple 
  mental technique practiced twice a day that allows the mind - and 
  subsequently the body - to achieve a deep state of rest.Several 
  million people in the United States have formally received instruction in 
  Transcendental Meditation, which is now taught for a one-time fee of 
  $2,500.Some contend that Maharishi has taken Hindu traditions and 
  made money by bringing them to Westerners. The Guardian newspaper in the 
  United Kingdom has reported his net worth at $3.6 billion.
  The practices and beliefs still are occasionally ridiculed, although 
  studies about the health benefits of relaxing to ease stress, including 
  through meditation, have helped to generate wider acceptance of 
  TM.A writer with the Daily Oklahoman wrote in 2004: "The weekly 
  winner in my e-mail basket is the note from the Maharishi Mahish Yogi , 
  which came with a headline promising 'World Peace to Be Created in a Few

One of America's top commercial green developers,

We want to provide you as much advanced 
notice as possible, even though some of the details are likely to be adjusted 
here and there.  We just now have the news:  The recertification 
refresher course for Governors is slated to begin on April 4.  It will be a 
30-day course for most Governors.  A 15-day course is open to those who are 
on record with the A-Forms office as having instructed in the TM technique 
within the last 24 months.  The first graduation will take place on April 
18th on the day of Raam Navami.  The course fee that has so far 
been discussed is $2,000 for the 15-day course and $4,000 for the 30-day 
course.  It seems likely that the course will be held in Maharishi Vedic City or 
Avon 
Park but the finalized 
details will be announced officially very soon. 
 
 
Along with this announcement comes the 
directive to stop all instruction in the TM program in the United States as 
of April 4.  Teaching will resume on April 19 with the newly graduated 
Governors and Raja designates.

superradiance has never prevented crime in 
iowa,
(altho iowa already had less crime than most other 
places). early on, MMY attributed this 
apparent exception to the rule due to his theory 
of
the "washing machine effect" - which is that 
since
Fairfield is taking on the karma of the whole 
USA,
it must have the National 1% number, which is
1600 flying together. When the numbers were up,
the studies were done to "prove" the theory, 
but 
the numbers flying has been insufficient 
for years now. 500 flying pandits would strengthen the situation

therefore DO NOT have a south facing entrance.

only good may enter from East or North,
so it would be good to have these "auspicious"

yes, well your objection is philosophical, but
this is a cognized knowledge about architecture,
not philosophy.

it presents an understanding of how natural law
functions, and how to build and make use of
these insights for mankinds benefit.

if you want to do things the hard way, of course
that is permitted, esp in kali yug, it is even popular!

if, otoh, you want more support of nature, you can
disallow a south entrance because that is where
negative energies make their entrance. whereas,
only good energies may enter from an east-facing
door. thats more auspicious to choose...but
you may violate principles of wisdom if you wish!
