Haven't seen many Fjords for sale come through on the list lately, so thought
I would add 2. :)
Two Rivers Amalia. We've got a great, older mare that would be a great
advanced beginner or hubby horse (Scott loves her). Has been ridden western
(lots of trails), basic english (with dressage principals), has been part of
our lesson program for the last year + and has been long lined. A definite
draft style Fjord, Ammi stands approx 14hh & weighs in at 1100lb., only
$2800.
For those looking for something with more flash & wow, we've decided to offer
our gorgeous, imported white dun mare Carla vom Oderhaff. Fluid movement, typy
& the brains to go with it, this mare has it all. Was evaluated in 2013 &
received a blue. Has been started over jumps and LOVES them! Has potential for

I have a couple EXCELLENT Fjords for sale her in Two Rivers WI. The first is
FPF Logn Falkspyd a 5 yr old Mare by Fair Acres Ole and out of Bluebird Lane
Sparrow. This mare is exceptional! In ALL ways, conformation, movements,
looks, and movement. Started correctly in classical dressage, Logn is soft,
supple and willing. Logn has started her dressage career this year and first
show out received Res. Champ in the youth division. YES, she can be ridden
by capable youths! She also is suitable for adults especially if you are
looking to do dressage. She also would love to do some jumping. She has only
done a few cross rails but she enjoys it. Logn is also enjoying going out on
the trails here at FCF. This is a high quality Fjord mare, with all the
right ingredients to make all your dreams come true! J 

 

I also have coming in this week a TALL super quiet gelding by the name of
Iduna Acres Karston. He also is 5 yrs old. He is by WH Stone and out of Hog
Tussa. Another exceptional Fjord with exceptional parents. This gelding
rides / drives and loves to trail ride. He has had a lot of professional
training for the last 2 yrs in English/ western riding and driving and is
ready for his next owner.  Both of these horses have outstanding pedigrees.
Both are quality horses. Karston is going to start his show career this
summer. Karston loves to go to new places, great traveler. Not much rattles
this boy.:-)

As a related note, we bought a Fjord mare recently who was diagnosed with
Pemphygus Dermatitis shortly after we purchased her. She is now weaned off the
meds and seems to be holding fine. Sweet personality, but not going to be
suitable for a breeding program.  The number one reason we purchased her.  She
is trained to ride - actually likes to canter! - and is trained for ground
driving as well. If you know of someone looking for a very inexpensive Fjord
or a non-profit that would like a donation (she would be a suitable candidate
for therapy, but comes with the diagnosis), please contact us.

Northern California fjords for sale

A few days ago someone on the list in Northern California was looking  
for a fjord to buy.  There are two listed on the Bay Area Equestrian  
Network website under "Classifieds/Horses for sale/ fjords.  One is a  
mare rescued from an auction and the other is a large gelding.  Both  
are broke to ride and the gelding drives.

Actually the market is much better this year than last year.  I've sold 5
Fjords this year -- two of my own and three consignments -- and I have had a
number of quality prospective buyers as well.  I think the key is training.
There are plenty of untrained, out of work, inexpensive horses out there, but
you also get what you pay for.  If you buy cheap, you'll need to put the
training in yourself or pay someone else to do it.  Or you can pay more and
buy trained.  I have no problem selling well trained riding horses.  The
greener ones take longer, but I also keep them in training and their price
goes up over time.   Young stock is slower to move because it takes a more
specialized buyer.

One of the reasons that Fjords do well in Virginia is that we have a group of
owners showing them to great success.  This year our stallion Ironwood Blitzen
won the Area II Beginner Novice Eventing Championship.  Our mare Helle has
been driven with good results by a handicapped driver at shows.  Lee Rouse has
several Fjords eventing with her daughter Cameron and other Pony Club kids.
Marsha Korose drives her pair LFF Ulend and Hog Solvar competitively.
LeighAnn Hazel-Groux is active in dressage and has bought two more Fjords for
her kids to event.  Lindy Hild does EVERYTHING with her mare, DC Dagney.  It
really helps to have a community of Fjord owners out there showing and doing
things with their horses.   I've sold Fjords to a number of people who have
seen one in action and are just amazed by the breed.

So I think sales depends on where you are located, the type of training the
horses, and the overall Fjord community.  We have a good thing going in
Virginia.

I'd just wondered, I seem to see alot of fjords for sale.  I know 10yrs. ago I
think, it wasn't so easy to find them.  And prices were up and people were
paying good prices for them.  And it made me feel that the fjords were a safe
breed, in that we'd not see them at auctions and sale barns.  But I see more
and more for sale, and prices are lower and it just worries me.
Have many of the breeders cut back, not breeding as much?
It just worries me so.

The horse industry in general (just like the rest of the economy) is pretty
low right now. I have two for sale, one young gelding that just turned 4 that
has been for sale since weaning and a mare that I decided to sell about two
years ago. I don't want to "give them away" so I still have them... Horses are
just not moving well; unless you happen to be in a REALLY specialized market.

I am finding the opposite to be true. The economy might not be good, but I 
think good people are still looking for good horses. I get many calls and 
emails and I enjoy so much  talking with the people. I  know the fjord breed 
can thrive in this economy...the fjords are a great breed and we are in a 
specialized market and people are looking for the type of horse that we are 
offering. It is very exciting!

Francis Creek Fjords has some nice Fjords on consignment. Just thought I’d
share the news , perhaps someone out there is looking who is on the list or
has a friend who is looking.

FIONA, 3 yr old filly. Fair Acres Tea and GVF Thorvald. This filly is the
CREAM of the CROP. Anyone at Blue Earth who saw this filly will tell you
WOW, what a GORGEOUS horse and NATURAL Mover! Tall and Elegant. Really for a
serious performance minded person. Cause this girl has what it takes and yet
she is NOT hot and fiery. Just naturally flowing trot and to die for canter.
Just started her canter in May and not doing tons of it, but it is NICE
right from the start NICE. She is light in the bridle and has a good work
ethic. She won All her walk/trot classes(Adult, English,Western), came in
2nd in halter and 4th in trail. She didn’t stand totally still while
mounting in trail otherwise did a very nice job. There is a couple video’s
of her on youtube.  She is 14. 1 ½ currently.

TYRMANN and TINDEMANN, two 4 yr old geldings from Catherine Lassesen. Tyr is
by Blamann and Tindemann is by Johan, NICE BOYS. I took Tyr to the breed
show in MN with 3 weeks under saddle, he placed in halter, adult w/t,
English w/t and Western w/t and did EVERYTHING like an old pro. He’s got
that ho hum attitude. Tindemann has the conformation to do any discipline,
great backend can see him being a jumper, CDE, H/J, or just a nice family
horse.

OLLIE-8 yr old gelding an A2Z boy, BIG drafty gelding who rides like a WB,
GREAT BIG free flowing movement, he’s a hoot! Also drives. He just came on
the farm but we will put him to the test. Very majestic looking fellow.

SNF BREGAN-5 yr old gelding who is a GEM of a boy. Used as a lesson horse,
pony club mount, ridden by a 9 yr old boy for the last year. NICE JUMPER and
just an all around GREAT gelding, easy to handle , ride and have around the
farm.  Loves to trail ride too.

TOMMERSTALL ASTRID-5 yr old mare, really a love. Currently being used in our
lesson program and ridden by a 9 yr old and 14 yr old. Goes out on the
trails and road alone.

VAL-2 yr old filly, full sister to Tindemann, sire is Johan, she is a
LOOKER. And a MOVER. Imprinted at birth, leads, ties, very well mannered See

After having a second baby this summer, we have realized that for the time
being a lot of our horse training time is not there anymore. We would like
to reduce our herd numbers and find homes for some of our young horses. We
have 3 two year olds (1 filly and two colts) and one eight year old gelding
for sale at this time. They all have a great foundation. Their ground
manners are excellent and they are handled daily.  The two year olds have
not been started in harness or saddle yet. The eight year old is ridden and
has been started driving.  I would love to find good homes for these guys
and would entertain any reasonable offers. I can send photos of the horses

Not shopping for another Fjord, but boy do I like to look.  I'm never  sure 
exactly what it is I like about one horse over another, but I thought this  
Tego was just absolutely perfect!  Beautiful head and face, and a build  
just the way I seem to like them - big and drafty and solid.  None of these

Two Terrific Fjords for sale

I have two of my horses I am offering for sale. Both were purchased for my 
daughters to ride who are now 11 years old. Sadly, they have no interest 
whatsoever in horses of any kind. They would rather dance and now want to go 
on to dance competitions which get pretty expensive. So, I can't afford 
both!


The first is Stella, a 1997 mare. Anyone can ride her. If people come to 
visit and want to go riding with us, we put them on Stella. She is a perfect 
lady. Everyone who sees her goes "A" She has those big liquid eyes like 
a Jersey cow and a long, long forelock that touches her nose. She is a sweet 
as pie.


The second is Loki,  a 2000 gelding. Loki is a gentle giant. You know how 
they say where a horse's "whirl" is on their forehead tells how 
high-spirited they are? The higher up -- the more high strung the horse? 
Well, Loki's whirl is almost to his nose. No kidding. This guy is mellow. He 
hadn't been handled much when we got him, but after a summer of riding last 
year,  we have him going quite well on trails with water crossings and 
bridges. He is still a little green, but an adult (me -- and I am a timid 
rider!) can manage him with no problems. I would give him another summer of 
riding before I would put a child on him alone on the trail, just because he 
is so big and strong. That said, my daughter has enjoyed riding him around 
the arena and he has always been a perfect gentleman.


Stella's price is $3500 and Loki is offered at $2000. We are in the Black 
Hills of South Dakota. I have a little web page up that talks about them

I am not in a huge hurry to sell either one, I like having them around. 
Both would do well with kids who would really give them the attention they 
enjoy. Neither are going to be dressage champions or anything, but for good,

see them go to a good home with tons of horse cookies and attention and 
braided forelocks and carrots over the fence.

I am off to college this fall, and we would like to cut down on our herd as

EWF Elsa-  Elsa is one of our broodmares. She safely trail rides, drives,
and has had two very healthy foals on our farm. She is a very low stress
horse, and has an easy time with foals. She has always held a great weight.
Elsa is tall, with a medium build. She had a friendly colt this year, and
won't be available for pick up until after weaning, or available with foal.

Penfrydd's Oksana- Also a broodmare. Oksana has extensive driving training

foaled this year; a lovely feminine filly and will not be available until
after weaning or available with foal.

Haakon- (registration pending) EWF Elsa x Smedsmo Graen- 2 year old gelding.
Haakon is a healthy young gelding. He has basic ground manners, and would be
started for riding next summer if not sold this fall. Easy going
temperament, and good in the herd. 

 

Leif- (registration pending) Penfrydd's Oksana x Gjest- 2 year old gelding.
Great buddy with Haakon. They could be sold as a pair for a good price, as i
would be sad to see them separated. Leif is a very friendly horse, and loves
people. He has basic ground manners. 

 

Odin- (registration pending) 10yrs. Odin is a very sweet gelding. He has
been driven by the Amish, and I've trail ridden him for a few summers. I am
sad to be selling him, because he is such a great horse. I think he would
make a very good dressage riding horse for someone who wishes to put time in
getting to know him. I've seen him move freely, and I have to say he is one
of my favorite horses to watch in the trot. Although he isn't so young to be
starting, he needs a person he can trust and to be very kind to him. A great
horse for a woman.. I don't have enough time to work with him to his
potential, but with the minimum of riding we have done, he has been
magnificent. I hope i can find the right person for him.

 

Inga- (registration pending) A big girl, much like Odin but quite a bit more
of a work horse. She has been to ground training and beginning riding away
from our farm, and I haven't had so much time to work with her, but could
make a fantastic farm work horse. Inga needs a good home with a couple other
horses, where she can get more attention. Very strong draft build, with
solid legs and body.

 

Two babies available: A filly and colt, both very people friendly and begun
halter and feet training.

I have some VERY nice fjords for sale if anyone is looking. Have just about
something for EVERYONE.
Just started geldings, all going well. We can always put more time on them for

huntseat/dressage/ plus jumping. AND...a VERY quiet and sweet yearling filly.

I also am putting up my Tomas for sale, he is SOLID on the trails, loves to
trail ride, will go thru ANYTHING, he does have a bigger engine and would LOVE
to find a barrel racing home. REALLY this boy can do it, and can also do a

Been a SUPER year in 2007 here at FCF, 2008 starting out like last year,
GETTING SOME FANTASTIC Fjords in on consignment. So excited again this
year. I'm just blessed to get to work with so many different bloodlines, so
many different horses and so many WONDERFUL owners and then selling the horses
and meeting even more wonderful folks who bought the horse.  It's a great line
of work.  It's not easy selling horses and I do my homework and only take good
quality Fjords in on consignment. I'm not out there just to sell horses, I
want a great sale. Where FCF gets a friend for life and you get a friend in
your Fjord for life. Can only do that with quality Fjords. And, it starts with
the breeding.

I have a couple of really nice quiet and nicely trained mares coming in this
week. I have a nice perfect aged team, or they can be sold seperate as they
both drive single and both ride. I have several young ones coming in the
spring, they are all currently driving and lightly being ridden, we will here
at FCF put more finishing touches on them.  I also know of a SUPER gelding
that we started here at FCF and then sold and he is solid BN event horse. He
is easy to keep and easy to ride/handle. Super boy.  So again this year, I
hopefully can help you find that right Fjord for you/your needs.

Have a few training horses at the moment and several lined up for
spring/summer. If you are considering some training, make sure to contact me
early, as things are filling up. One in for training I'm also thrilled with.
Ivar, 4 yr old gelding. A bit too slow / quiet to start butwe got him
going nicely and I'm just thrilled with this boy, his owner is gonna have a
blast with him when he goes home end of Feb.

Few additions to FCF, I bought TUF Voss this last year. Warning you all now ,
I WILL WIN THE BAREBACK CLASS AT BE this year!!! The boy has the smoothest
canter. We are using him in our lesson program and he is awesome. I think TUF
has some of the BEST horses out there, Rich and Nancy really produced some
wonderful horses!! I also bought Los Trigos Heather. I was gonna lease her
this year, but then just decided to buy her. She is a GREAT driving horse and
I am hoping to do Villa and Columbus this year and have some fun driving. I
still have my TB and will do a BN event with him this year as well. Sorry had
to add that, he's a COOL horse! GREAT jumper! Eby will probably take Voss or
Tomas, as they both jump as well. We have been using Tomas in the lesson
program as well. Tomas just has to learn to stay calmer when jumping he LOVES
it too much. Sothe year is starting to get planned out and I'm sure it
will fly by like always but I could not be happier with how it's all coming
together.

  I'm sorry to hear about the stifle issues with "Lang". I am currently 
dealing with a stifle injury with my Draako. We are just coming off of a 6 mos 
resting period where I was only allowed to hand walk him. I just started riding 
him again 2 weeks ago. We are taking it very slow and I'm not so sure that I 
want to put him to a cart for awhile. He does seem to be in a better mood now 
but he sure was cranky for awhile. Quite a switch in personality for him. 
  Did you stall rest Lang before you started the injections? My vet wants 
to see if we can build up his hindquarters before we try injections and then 
surgery would be my last resort.
   
  I hope all goes well for you. I'm anxious to hear the results of the surgery 
and hope that works for him.

I am leaving for 'fjord school' on Sunday, and will be in Norway for eight
months. We still have a few horses available for sale at good prices. Prices

Leif- (registration pending) 2006 colt. He is out of Penfrydd's Oksana
(xKonggard) and Gjest. This little guy was bred for movement, and he
certainly has it! He oversteps from the hind end in all his gaits and tracks
up straightly. He's got a great go-for attitude and loves to play with his
best friend, Haakon. It appears he will get much taller and is going through
his awkward yearling stage. He might take a little longer to mature, but
when he does I think he will make a fantastic dressage and driving horse
like his mother, Oksana. We have not had him cut yet, so he is available
either as a stud colt or as a gelding. If he does not sell, he will be
available at the end of next summer with more training. He was imprinted at
birth and handles beautifully, even as a studly colt.

 

Haakon- (registration pending) 2006 colt. He is out of EWF Elsa (xAdvent
Hill Oliver) and Smedsmo Graen. He moves correctly and with large forward
movement. He oversteps in walk and trot. He is quiet and has an easy going
attitude. He handles easily as a stud colt and can be cut if buyer requests.
He will also make a great dressage or driving horse. Haakon is well
proportioned with a beautiful face and extraordinarily thick tail. He will
make a lovely riding or driving horse for anyone and jumps anything in his
pasture. 

 

Inga- (registration pending) Inga is a big mare about 10 years old. I have
to dig through our calendars to find the exact year. She is a sweet mare
with lots of potential. We have only ridden her minimally on trails, and she
had a month of professional ground training and 2 weeks of professional
riding training a few years ago. Inga will make a wonderful trail mare, but
she would make a fantastic work horse or pulling/driving. She is smart and
learns quickly. We recently sold her dam and grand-dam and she is very
lonely. Inga wants a good home!

 

Congratulations to the new owners of Rinda and Rona! We found them the best
home possible, and are extremely happy to see them being appreciated as a
good fjord should. 

 

We love the new fjord issue!

Rides and drives, but had a driving accident and has been a  little nervous 
about anything behind her.  She's also  at the trainers  and the trainer said 
he's gotten her to over come that and she's dragging things  now with out 
issues.

Full sister to the above mare.   Nordri rides and drives, though  she's a bit

These horses were donated to a therapeutic riding program that fell  through.

This year is going to be VERY exciting here at FCF. I am getting a LOT of
QUALITY Fjords in on consignment. I have alway had GREAT Fjords to sell over
the years, butthis late winter/ early spring is turning out to be an
exciting time, with fantastic horses here to sell.  I LOVE getting in
different horses, working different horses and meeting so many wonderful new
people. Both the sellers and the buyers. Pat Holland wrote about it years ago,
saying how fortunate she was to be able to see the bloodlines first hand. I
totally agree!  There are a few bloodlines, you just know will be a great
horse to work with, other bloodlines, surprise you but all the horses that
come to FCF have been awesome to work with and just make my love for the
Fjords deeper. My assistant Eby Higdon has also found her love for Fjords
growing. She told me this last weekend, how much she has enjoyed working with
them and doesn't care if she ever gets another breed to work with, as the
Fjords have it all. Energy, talent, willingness, brains. And all the horses
here at FCF just get better every week. Even the ones that come already
trained. As we all know, horses can keep learning new things all the time.
Sowe have been having a GREAT time working horses.

Anyway, getting a tad off subject, I wanted to tell everyone about some
fantastic Fjords on the farm.
O.H. Sebastian came last Friday, 10 yr old gelding, been there done that, been
shown at Finger Lakes, kid safe, SOFT canter depart, really sweet! I do think
he may be sold already, I will know by the weekend. SWEET boy.
Skyview Sylvia  adorable mare, 10+ head, she has a GREAT walk to her, NICE
trot and good canter. We have had her in training since first of Feb. and she
most likely will be going to the horse fair in Madison in April if not sold.
A+ trail horse, bold and brave. Really a talented girl, can go in ANY
direction. I can see her as a pony club mount, a hunter/ jumper,dressage, pack
horse, trail horse, pleasure horse, driving horse. Child to adult.She is
versatile and willing.  Modellen bloodlines, Grabb, Tilly(German) QUALITY
Horse $7000
Maren, Gunner, Rueben, Ella 3 -6 yr olds, all ride and drive. All have been
exposed to traffic and trails. All are super laid back and nice horses. These
are from Ken Raspotnik's farm. From his blue ribbon evaluated stallion Luton.
SUPER laid back, SUPER nice looking, SUPER stallion. Prices will vary but all
are reasonable. We will be starting them in training next week, working them
in dressage principals. Will continue to get them out onto the trails .  These
are some nice horses with reasonable price tags. AND STARTED!

A little early to talk about, but two 6 yr old geldings, Highland Prairie
Tore, and Crown Oak Keswick are also coming to FCF this month. Both of them
are very nice driving horses and have had some exposure to riding, We will be
working with both these geldings under saddle to get them a little further in
their education under saddle. Tore is from Glacier View Samsom(Kanada
King-Gjest ) line along with Rokida's Knute(Lee ) line and Anvil's Steinfinn.
Talk about movement and a super thinking brain. Keswick is from King Gjestar
ll X Katrina (Grabb). Another nice pedigree. All of the horses have been very
well cared for and have been used for one discipline or another.

I just am BLESSED to get so many wonderful horses in. Can't hold it in any
longer, just had to tell you all. This is the fun part about my job, well,
actually working with horses is the fun part, but being able to ride and work
with so many different bloodlines is something most never get to do. I know,
you have to "like" working with so many different horses and beable to see
them come and go, but I'm just thrilled this year to be starting off this way.
!!!  CAN YOU TELL!!!  :-)

I hope you will remember FCF for all your Fjord shopping needs. Definately
have some awesome Fjords for sale. Still have a few opening for training, but
they are getting filled and lastly Ole is available for 2007 breedings. Check

Hello All! I hope that you are all well and have enjoyed a joyous and 
wonderful Holiday season! It's been quite a while since I've written to the 
list, but I've been lurking 
We had a very rough September. The day after our gelding, Theodin had his 
3rd birthday, his dam, our beloved Mischa died from colic.  I was devastated 
and I'm still having quite a time with her loss. Thankfully, I have Theo to 
dote on & love. He's been under saddle now for about 5 months and is coming 
along very very well. My old trainer came out to evaluate us and she really 
loved Theo and ( a little pat on the back for me) loved the job I did with 
him. He has been so easy to train and I've never trained a horse to do 
anything before working with him. It's been a very rewarding experience and 
the bond between us is amazing! And he's a little cantering fool! Nice 
little collected lope too! I'm looking forward to taking him to his first 
show in February.
So back to my original thought ( being an artist, I can and ocassionally 
will bounce back & forth- like a ping pong ball in a hurricane) there's  
a gal who buys & sells  horses over near Tampa Florida who has 2 Fjords that 
she is selling. I came across her article the other night the mare, 
named Ducky, is 6 years old- greenbroke, looks like she is in good condition 
and a purebreed, I'm not sure about the papers but this lady only wants 
$1800.00 for her. The mare has a foal by her side, Nigel, who is 5 months 
old and she only wants $1000.00 for him. If anyone is interested contact her

these two for myself but I've decided to put all my energy into Theo at this

Hello everyone. It's winter in Wisconsin. We got dumped on last week and
everything is white and gorgeous. Would like the temps to go up a bit, but the
horses love it!

I have two VERY nice geldings on the farm on consignment, both are well
trained with very nice ground manners. Both love trail riding. Both have been
well cared for by their owners.

We have 5 yr old Skyview Ollie, he's a BIG boy. 15hh, big bones, he can carry
just about anyone. He's trained both western and huntseat. Perfers hunt as he
has a BIG stride to him. He can jog but like i said perfers to trot out more.
Neck reins very nicely, very sensitive on his sides, nice canter. VERY VERY
VERY solid on the trails. Has been trail riding for about 2 yrs, had 90 days
with FCF this summer working on western and ring work. A real person pleaser ,
pictures on my website of Ollie. $6500.00 Grabbson X Tekla breeding.

Also have Trym, 8 yr old gelding, whom they call "Ernie". Very nice ground
manners, has been on several over night camping trips. A real good trail
horse. A lovely looking Fjord. 14hh Pictures also on my website of Ernie. He

As some of you might have heard at the 25th Anniversary show we have
accepted an offer on our farm and are moving in January.  We plan on
building a new home sometime in the next two years but in the meantime we
put an offer on a house in town.  (We haven't lived in town since we
rented a house for the summer in 1982!).  It's going to be a big
transition for us.  We are keeping a couple of our horses during this
time and will be boarding them with our farrier.  Now we will see the
other side of the coin in horse boarding.

We have some very nice Fjord mares for sale, We are in the process of building
our breeding herd to compliment our stallion. WHR Elsker. I just kept buying
new ones and have to decide which ones to keep. We have 11 horses right now.

5 year old WHR Tonetta. bred for May 2006 foal.  " Netta" is trained to ride
and drive single and Team. She is very good in a team. she has been on some
low key trail rides and has been used as a lesson horse in a round pen
setting. She is 13.2.  Sire is Rusten, Dam is Tone.   Netta was born on our
property. Netta is also a proven broodmare, she had a darling filly this
April, WHR Feline. She was a very sweet mother. Netta  shoes, loads and clips

Gracie. Turning 4 in a few months. bred for April 2007 foal. We sent Gracie to
the trainer and she has been the easiest fjord to train. She is quiet.
attentive and smart. She is riding well. She walks, trots and canters on her
correct leads.  She is 14.2 and beautifully marked, light brown dun with great
zebras. Sire is Quad-l's Kaiser and Dam is Quad-L's Serena.  $3500.00. Gracie
also loads, trims and clips. Somebody better buy her before I change my mind!

Bjorna, filly by Valbjorn out of Signe III by Sivert.  Very dark
brown
dun and very elegant.  Bjorna's dam, Signe, is a national and state
level dressage award winner who has scored as high as a 9 on her
gaits
at rated dressage shows under senior judges.  Signe has also won many
awards in breed and open showing.  Signe is the dressage horse on the
front of the NFHR brochure.  Bjorna is every bit as nice a mover as
her

Conner, colt, foaled 3/28/06 by Valbjorn out of Lilly by Paskegleden
3.premie.  Very dark brown dun, smart and personable.  Nice topline

good round movement.  Sells gelded--there are a lot of nice stallion

parents.  Lilly, Conner's dam is a super fun ride and has been used

Unnamed filly, foaled 3/2/06 by Valbjorn out of Fairway's Misty by
rocky.  Brown dun, big bodied, short backed filly.  Particularly
athletic and smart like her dam, Misty.  Misty has earned her NFHR
register of excellence award and the NFHR versatility award--meeting
all three criteria.  She has won too many daily high points to count
at
open shows, several grand or reserve year ends in English/western and
driving, and several breed show awards.  Misty has won literally over
a
hundred ribbons in good company--she completed the versatility award
by
winning over the then current AQHA world champion in hunter hack, but
is also a reliable confidence builder for a novice on the rail or
trail.  This filly has all the makings of being a top family and
performance horse who cam be handled and trained by an amateur.

Stallion:

Gromarson, 8 year old by Gromar 3.pr out of Jossa 1.premie by Tunfeld
3.pr.  Blakken as we call him is a very dark brown dun, lighter
bodied,
but big boned 14.1 hh.  He is one of the best moving Fjords I've
seen.
He has a lot of hair on his legs and a long forelock like a
Fresian's.
Conservative Dutch judges rated him 8 on his trot.  USDF certified
trainer thought he had fabulous movement suited for dressage.  Gromar
has sired several successful dressage horses, and Blakken's dam,
Jossa, 
at 24 is ridden daily at a dressage barn.  She earned her 1.premie at
18 years of age and Dutch judges called her a very good mare.  They
used her as an example of a very good topline--at 18 and after 10
foals.  Tunfeld is a good broodmare sire; he is also Flotren's dam's
sire.  I simply don't need this horse for breeding, and would like to
see him used.  He was professionally trained (36 rides) at 3 years,
and
has been ridden occasionally since. He is quiet under saddle.  He
long
lines and is very willing to please.  Blakken has a 100% conception
rate, and his 1st foal is showing dressage and open.  He will be gelded in
the next few weeks if not sold, or will be sold gelded if buyer prefers.  $6000

Britta's son is also forsale, his name is Rudi, he is 3 yrs old. Has one month
under saddle and is VERY quiet, by my stallion Fair Acres Ole. Nothing much
bothers him at all. He is so quiet I took him out in the woods riding
yesterday. Thick woods, didn't bother him at all. Also took him thru water,
went thru fine, after a little coaxing-he thought forsure their might be

enough handling in his earlier years to manage well in  hand.  Sivert's price

VERY good to a qualified home, and has been  further reduced!  Sivert's 
tremendous bloodlines should be preserved, but  he needs an environment to 
where he 
is allowed to do what he does best; breed  mares without a lot of human 
interference.

The first is a 2 yr old gelding, Ingvi Frey, who is out of Pat Wolfe's
stallion, Prydarson, and a German-bred mare named Dora.   He is very nice, a
real sweet boy. Dora is currently being used in a therapy program. With

None of our Fjords for sale are currently up on our website, so please  email 
or call for details.  We have a very well mannered yearling colt, a  gorgeous 
weanling filly, and a broodmare or companion only due to a past  leg injury, 
all available at $1000 each.  There is a possiblity of another  broodmare 
being offered for a very reasonable price.
 
We are considering placing our new stallion, Sivert, sired by Xerves, but  
only to a very qualified farm.  Only those with a lot of stallion  experience, 
please inquire!  His price will be VERY reasonable to the right  farm.
 
In addition, we have a transportation route scheduled for the first part of  
October.  It will be going from Michigan to North Carolina to Tennessee and  
back to Michigan.  We can deliver any of the above kids along this route  for a 
very reasonable price.

A friend of mine in Sweden has some fjords for sale, as follows:

Emil - born 2003, brunblakk (very dark).  Licenced to stand as a stallion 
from 2006.  He is a son of Kim Hero (44points Nordfjordeid 2004, 1pr and 1st 
in class) and out of Eda 3209 a diplom mare with 41 points (out of Furubacks 
Seger 159).  He is microchipped, passported etc.  He scored 8-8-8-8-8 and 8 
for gallop at his premiering last weekend.  Price:  30,000 Swedish Kroner.


Ella - born 2004, light brunblakk, full sister to Emil 39points as a 
yearling.


Keso - born 2003, light brunblakk, gelding.  Out of Kim Hero and Kesella 
3207 (42 points).  He is a grandson of my mare who has won overall champion 
in Scotland every year since 2002.  His mother is a Knast Halsnaes daughter 
and his grandmother (Rike - my mare) is a daughter of Dalar.  He is going to 
be rather high in height and will make a good riding and driving horse.  He

For Sale on consignment at my farm, Fair Acres Sara.  10 yr old mare
rides/drives. Been driven in parades, shown in driving and riding
classes, used as a lesson horse, been on tons of trails.  Super quiet,

special Fjords here that are for sale.  As many of you know, it is often
difficult to find been-there-done-that WELL trained Fjords and they are
often
scattered far apart geographically.  I feel fortunate to be able to offer
three of
them, at the same time, in the same place.

The first one is Paradise's Celebrity, a 15 year old mare that rides as well
as drives.  She is a fairly big boned mare that stands about 14.2.  She
carries the gray gene and has produced gray offspring as well as several
nice brown
dun foals.  I used to own this mare and bred her to Dusty several times.
Two
of those resulting foals, both fillies, have been evaluated.  One received a
blue in conformation (Johan's dam) and the other a high red.  Both of them
went
on to earn their Silver Medallions for Intro. Western, making Celebrity
eligible for the Hall of Fame award.  Obviously, she produces very good
quality
foals!

This is a very laid back, quiet mare with polite, respectful ground manners.
She is currently open, but can be bred to Dusty.  That cross is good.  She
adds height to him and he refines her.  Price will depend on whether she
sells
open or bred.

The other two are mother and son, Dustenai and Cymon. Many of you may
remember these two.  They belonged to Patty Peterson of Libby.  Patty passed
away
quite suddenly and unexpectedly this February.  Otherwise these two would
never
be for sale.

I can't say enough about these two.  They are absolutely spectacular.
Dustenai is 12 years old and is a Dusty daughter.  She was featured on the
last
Nordicfest poster with the two darling girls dressed in Bunads with the
Rocky
Mountains in the background.

Dustenai is about 14 hands.  Her dam is Molde, our King Herald mare who
passed away last spring at 28 years of age.  Molde was typical of King
Herald
offspring with those HUGE eyes.  Dustenai inherited that plus she has a
beautiful
dished face.

I broke her to ride for Patty as a three year old and Patty then went on to
train her for driving.  And DRIVE her she did.  She is a wonderful driving
horse with quite spectacular gaits.  Patty showed her many times at Libby as
well
as drove her in many parades.  She is BROKE!  I remember an incident at
Libby
when one of the horses in a driving class got stung by a yellow jacket and
proceeded to bolt and run away, pitching the driver out of the cart, at
which
point her foot became hung up in one of the lines.  It was horrific to watch
as
she was being drug and bounced off of the fence!  We were all certain that
the
gal was going to be severely hurt or killed.  After all was said and done,
miraculously she was just shaken and scratched, but not seriously injured.
Anyway, Patty had pulled Dustenai to the inside of the ring and  Dustenai
kept her
cool through the entire incident.

I recall another time when Patty had sent Dustenai here to be bred to
Majson,
our junior stallion at the time.  When Patty came to pick her up, she
mentioned that she didn't think she'd show her at Libby that year.  When I
asked her
why, she said that she didn't think that the judge for that year liked
Dustenai because he hadn't placed her well the last time she had shown to
him.  I
encouraged Patty to DO show her because Dustenai had matured quite a bit
since
that first time and shown correctly, she should do well.  I told Patty what
that
particular judge wanted to see and how to show her to her best advantage.
Told her I'd give her a 'brush up' lesson before the class and to PLEASE
enter
her.

The classes at Libby were quite large that year.  Think there were 20-25
mares in her class!  Patty was nervous as heck, but she did an outstanding
job.
Horses were lined up as the judge was making his final decisions.  Patty &
Dustenai were pulled out in his first three picks.  Then he went on down the
line
to pull out the next three.  OH MAN - that was exciting, but remember
thinking
to myself, did I tell Patty not to quit showing until he makes his final
decision and hands in his card??!!  Patty did an excellent job and when the
judge
came back to make his FINAL decision, he pulled Dustenai out FIRST PLACE!!
Patty was trying to be COOL, but when she got out of the ring - what a
HOOPLA!!
Everyone was crying for her!

Anyway, needless to say this is a great mare.  She comes with a nice cart

#4. a 4-1/2 year old mare, Sonja. Sweet and never in a hurry. The 'alpha mare'

has had 30 days under saddle so far & is doing very well. Would be fine for an

a lovely and willing mare. She will have an additional 60 days put on her this

Genie, the incident was owner/handler error. The stallion had no training

This stallion was trained by someone who was accustomed to much "hotter"
horses, that can be manipulated by essentially scaring them into doing
things.  I doubt it is the temperament.more likely the training.  

I know this horse's blood lines, and there are some very nice horses in
them.

The dam is Lena.  I had one of her daughters, and she was beautiful
(particularly her head!) and very sweet.  The sire was Modellen, who
produces fine horses.

I wish some knowledgeable Fjord breeder could take him on and preserve his
bloodlines.

I hope no one on this list will help promote a stallion, or assist in 
his finding a new home as a stallion, with a visious temperment as 
you said  Diamont has "who nearly killed his handler at Skandifest 
the year before".  We had a terrible incident in Michigan with a 
stallion attaching his owner, an ederly gentleman, who was critically 
injured as was one women who tried to help.  the man who finally 
subdued the stallion had serious injuries also.   This stallion's 
stallion offspring  should be assessed carefully for temperment.

Hi Everyone-
 
Those of you who've been to Skandifest in California might remember  
Peppertree's Christian, the young stallion owned by Bob Thompson and shown by  
Dorothy 
McPherson. You'd definitely remember Diamont, the uls dun stallion who  
nearly killed his handler at Skandifest the year before. These Fjords and their 
 
offspring are for sale in Santa Cruz, and have been for over a year. I went and 
 
met with Dorothy, looked at the horses, and gave her some advice, like, no 
one  is going to pay $15k for an untrained filly, and winning one class against 
two  competitors at Skandifest does not make a stallion a "champion." I tried 
to get  some info so I could post ads on this list and others, but she didn't 
return my  emails.
 
I see that the horses are still for sale. It's a shame, because there  are so 
few Fjords in CA, let along the Bay Area, but I can't recommend these to  
buyers because of the inflated prices. Oh yeah, and their color is
