2021-05-10 Thread 'Elliott (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine

Hello,

I understand that you would like to have a refund from Google Play. I did
look at our documentation and I hope this resolves your issue. I know this
must be frustrating but I will do my best to assist you.

You may get a refund for certain Google Play purchases but it also depends
on the policy. I understand that you may contact the developer directly.
You may get a refund if the product was purchased accidentally. I believe
this is what you are after.

There is a document
[1], which goes
into more detail and I hope this helps.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your reply. Are you using Homebrew? It seems to be a known
issue with pip. The Stackoverflow thread

provides possible solutions. Basically you need to create a ‘setup.cfg’
file at the root directory of your project and include the following before
running the pip command:

[install]
prefix=

Hope it helps!

Thanks for reporting this. It seems you are trying to use Application
Default Credentials to set the default service account to authenticate
between services. To clarify be default GCE service accounts have the Cloud
IAM project editor role

 so
please check if that is still the cause or if it has been modified. I can
see you are using Compute Engine credentials which is recommended to
explicitly state the credentials being used. In terms of Blogger API, it
doesn't appear to be directly supported by GCP but if the issue is with the
API then this Blogger Community forum
can

be used to discuss authorization for the API.

Hello Pam,

I believe you were following this documentation

to setup your Course Builder environment. You could try to look at the
permissions of /usr/include/python2.7. Maybe the user you're logged-in as
when running the command doesn't have permissions for that folder? You
could try to run chmod -R +r /usr/include/python2.7 to make the folder and
its contents readable to all users.

I should note that, here we provide support for general discussions about
Google Cloud Platform-end products. It seems that your question is related
to Google Open Online Education. If so, I recommend that you post your
question to the Course Builder Forum

Hello Minka,

If there are no requests received by your service, App Engine does not
create new instances, and reduces the number of instances to a minimum,
depending on the settings you have chose in your project. How does your
app.yaml look like? You should not publish any confidential information
here, such as your project ID. Rather, send such information by means of a
private message, generate from the drop-down menu offered by the "reply"
button at the top right of the edit window.

How did you verify that instances are running? What are the relevant
entries in your app's logs?

What is the output of the gcloud info command, on your local development
machine?

[google-appengine] Re: Help me mail

2017-10-06 Thread Karl Tinawi
Hi George/all,

We're a small startup and we've invested in Google Cloud infrastructure for
hosting our platform. We offer a B2B service and it is imperative for our
customers to send emails to their clients using our platform (thus using
their SMTP).

We're at a critical juncture in our early days and this is a showstopper
for us. Our users need to be able to send emails from their mail servers
using SMTP, whether it be Gmail, Yahoo, FastMail, or whoever. Using
SendGrid or MailGun doesn't allow us to fulfil this requirement.

There was a post from Paul Nash, here:
https://googlecloudplatform.uservoice.com/forums/302595-compute-engine/suggestions/10079937-send-and-receive-email-using-tcp-smtp-imap-ports
that suggested that we could request SMTP and IMAP ports to be unblocked?

I'd be very grateful for any advice as I'm currently looking at all
possible alternatives as we need to go live with this pretty soon.

Thank you kindly,
Karl

[google-appengine] Re: Help me, GAE/PHP Inexplicable behavior google cloud storage' s response

2017-09-06 Thread 'George (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Hello Satoshi,

You must start uploading to this URL within 10 minutes of its creation.
Have you followed the relevant documentation page

at "Allowing Users to Upload Files" with all the steps indicated there? How
did you get the 500 error, exactly?

More detail on your code and the exact steps you undertook is needed to
properly organize an investigation. Whatever information you deem relevant
is likely to help as well.

Hello Satoshi, unfortunately community support is only available in English
so I am not able to provide you with adequate help. It sounds like you
either need code troubleshooting help or want to report a bug.

If you require code troubleshooting help we recommend you post your
question on Stack Overflow
 with as many details
as possible, such as the relevant code. There is also a Japanese version of
Stack Overflow but our community technical support team does not monitor it.

If you want to report a bug you can do so using the Issue Tracker
 which also operates
in English.

2017-09-04 Thread 'Yannick (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve your issue.

To answer your question, many service accounts are automatically created
for you to perform operations on your project on behalf of your services.
The App Engine service account is one such account but it turned out to not
be necessary for your solution.

I did not change my source code. So I don't think cause my source.

Hello, a Blobstore 503 error usually means that the App Engine service
account does not have access to the Google Cloud Storage bucket in which
your blobs are stored. Could there have been any such changes to the bucket
ACLs recently?

You should make sure that App Engine's service account does have read/write
access to the bucket.

Google Compute Engine does not allow outbound connections on ports 25, 465,

large amount of abuse these ports are susceptible to. You can find more
information on how to send email from a VM and what services to use on the

[google-appengine] Re: Help about AngularJs2 with endpoints Google app engine

2017-07-04 Thread 'Kenworth (Google Cloud Platform)' via Google App Engine

Hi Jordan,

Since Google App Engine (GAE) can be consumed through endpoints, it is not
dependent on any frontend language. Nevertheless, here is the tutorial to
build an Angular 2 frontend running on GAE [1].

In the above example, the GAE backend is separated from the Angular 2
frontend. Once up and running, you can reuse that same backend for example
on Mobile (iOS, Android, etc) or other web frontends.

Re: [google-appengine] Re: Help troubleshooting running under the development server

2017-02-27 Thread Brian de Alwis
In my experience, "bad runtime process port" usually indicates that something
is writing to System.out. It seems the dev_appserver communicates to the
spawned JVMs via stdin/stdout, and so any other messages interfere.

2017-02-26 Thread 'Adam (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
We've seen this error occasionally but reproducing it has been hit or miss.
I'd advise filing an issue on the googleappengine issue tracker
and uploading a
sample app which exhibits the problem. If you provide a link to the issue I
will pick it up from there.

[google-appengine] Re: Help! Can't deploy my coursebuilder. "This application does not exist"

2017-02-19 Thread Barry Burkett
Paul, I was having a similar issue. I found a post on StackOverfow that
helped. here are the steps that led to success for me:

   1. Go to your Google Cloud Shell Console,
   https://console.cloud.google.com/home/dashboard?project=myproject-id
   1. replace "myproject-id" with your project Id your page will look like

   2. In the top right of the page click on the "Activate Google Shell Icon"

   3. at the bottom of your screen the Google Shell Console will open

Once you have that console open

   1. type "beta app create" in the new command line.
   2. Select your region.
   3. then deploy the app by typing "gcloud app deploy"
  1. answer to next question is no.

Follow the steps for deploying Course Builder again starting at "bash
./scripts/common.sh". You will know you have success when you see the
message "Deployment to https://your-project-ID.appspot.com complete".

At least this is how I got it to work for me... Best of luck!!

[google-appengine] Re: Help! Can't deploy my coursebuilder. "This application does not exist"

2017-02-02 Thread 'Alex (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine

Hi Paul,

I was unable to reproduce your issue by following the instructions on this
course builder tutorial

for deploying the Course Builder app. Looking at your provided stack trace,
it does seem that your application is not recognized as being available as
part of your Cloud project. Have you tried creating an empty application on
your Cloud console App Engine’s dashboard
 prior deploying
the tutorial's application?

Additionally, it is important to have all of the application’s dependencies
installed by running the [bash ./scripts/common.sh] command as specified in
this same tutorial. In case it still fails, I will need you to reply with
the following information in order to help you further:

   1. The output of running [gcloud --version].

   2. The output of running [python --version].

   3. What is the exact command you are calling for running the deployment
script?
   4. If you have made any modification to the app.yaml file in the
coursebuilder folder?

I'm trying to find correct place to submit my issue and I think it is here:
 https://code.google.com/p/googlecloudsql/issues/detail?id=188
We can delete this thread in the AppEngine forum but maybe others are
having this issue?

Some additional detail. I restarted my Cloud SQL instance and looked at the
logs... it seems the server side certificates got wiped out somehow? Who
can fix it up? I'd really rather not replace/reset all my certificates but
at this point that's my best guess on how to fix this.

So it seems my certs on the server side got wiped out? Who can fix it?
I'd rather not reset all my certificates.

[google-appengine] Re: Help connecting to App Engine server correctly?

2016-08-26 Thread 'Adam (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Could you please clarify what you mean by 'Google Cloud Server' and
'instance of Google Cloud'? It seems like you could be referring to either
a Google Cloud SQL or a Google Compute Engine instance (which can run a SQL
server) but I'm not sure.

Also, I don't understand what you mean by "store data into my Application
Server where I have hosted an instance of Google Cloud", could you
elaborate?

Hello Pankaj,

This should be the repository

searching for. It contains the source for *gcr.io/google_appengine/nodejs*
docker image. The Dockerfile

uses the base App Engine Docker image based on Debian Jessie.

Hello,

You've certainly added the custom domain correctly inside App Engine
settings in the console. However, your screenshot would suggest that you've
added the CNAME record inside Google Domains. As you've indicated earlier
that your nameservers are pointing to bluehost, you'll need to create the
CNAME record there.

I hope it helps. Cheers!

[google-appengine] Re: Help - custom domains

2016-03-30 Thread Mihail Russu
Follow these steps on adding a custom domain for your application

.

In short:
 - add the silver.example.com domain to GAE panel

 - verify that you indeed own it
 - set a CNAME record via your nameservers to point the "silver" subdomain
to "ghs.googlehosted.com"

and that's it...

[google-appengine] Re: Help a Noob create an endpoints project in eclipse

2016-03-18 Thread Jim Craft
So I have an endpoint project created in Eclipse. I have the Google App
Engine server created (localhost:), and it is Stopped. When I go to my
project and right-click and drop down to "Run As ..." I would expect to see
"Run on Server". That is not there, however, so I choose "Run
Configurations...". The selection provided is "Web Application ->
HelloWorld". I see a Google tab and an App Engine tab. The Google tab has
"Embedded Server: Run built-in server (which is checked), and Port ".
The App Engine tab has my Application Settings, Application ID:
helloworld, Version: 1, and other HRD settings. When I click on Run I get
in the Console a "Usage: [options] and that
is followed by the Options list. I've tried various different
settings/adjustments/configs to no avail. Hopefully someone has suffered
like I and knows the answer!

Thanks Again!

Jim

Hi!

It's indeed an issue related to the last version (48) of Chrome. I've met
this problem as soon as it was released in the dev channel. I've not check
if it has been solved with v50.

There is workaround that is a little bit 'dangerous' and that implies to
allow Chrome to load any insecure content, without asking you to.
To do this, simply launch chrome using the flag
"--allow-running-insecure-content" and you should be good to go.

But be aware of the implications of this flag and be extremely careful when
using your "tweaked" browser.

Hi, Trez.

I'm having this same problem. My best guess for now is that the problem is
the Google Chrome current version (48).
I was using the version #47 and it was working. After updating chrome to
#48, I'm facing this same problem.

I would recommend serverfault, since the issue's more about system/network
administration (serverfault's theme), while stackoverflow's about software
development. We monitor both sites, this distinction is only important to
respect the expressed desire of the two sites' respective communities.

Hey Lord Joe,

It appears you can ping both hosts. I think you should post a question to
stackoverflow containing your information, what you've done to debug,
relevant network statistics or curl/ping outputs, etc. and you'll be more
likely to get help for a specific technical issue. As mentioned, this forum

2015-09-03 Thread Nick (Cloud Platform Support)
Hey Lord Joe,

I'm really glad that you got it figured out, nonetheless. Do you think it
might be possible for you to make a public issue tracker
 report of the issue
you experienced? If possible, you could attach a HAR recording of your
browser's activity during the failed GoDaddy sign-in flow? This would help
make sure that this gets fixed, as without a report and some data, no work
can proceed on this. At the very least this thread will exist as a
reference to any future user, but that's obviously sub-optimal. Anyways,
it's up to you.

Feel free to consult the docs or post to stackoverflow if you encounter any
issues at all migrating from Master-Slave to High-Replication Datastore. We
monitor their as well and you'll be in good hands with the community of
developers, many of whom have also made this transition.

Best wishes,

Nick

Re: [google-appengine] Re: Help in mapping my domain to google app engine I mistyped the registrar password

2015-08-31 Thread Steve Lewis
Yes but then I did this for the erlandanderson.com account I did not NEED
to put in the txt record - the txt record was an alternative to verify
after I could not get into godaddy.com I really want to not use the TXT
record - seems to be optional and go back to validating with godaddy as I
did successfully with erland-anderson2.

The REAL issue is that I need to move these because google has deprecated
master-slave storage for the lordjoe and erlandanderson domains forcing me
to copy and rebuild them - I see no way to say OK just use the new storage
not master slave and keep the accounts

Re: [google-appengine] Re: Help in mapping my domain to google app engine I mistyped the registrar password

2015-08-31 Thread Nick (Cloud Platform Support)
Hi Lord Joe,

It appears as though the issue isn't with your username / password for
GoDaddy, which should be handled properly by GoDaddy in the event of a
wrong password, but lies in the fact that you haven't put the required TXT
record on your domain's zone file. You'll notice that a special text token
is being supplied in the page for you to put in a TXT record on your
domain's zone file. This allows our servers to check with your domain and
determine that it's owned by the same person going through the flow on the
Developers Console side of things.

As an additional note, I think you might be using the subdomain feature
incorrectly in VerifyLordjoe.png. It looks like you're trying to set up
www.lordjoe.com.erlandanderson.com as a domain, which doesn't seem right.
Perhaps this is what you intend, though, in which case disregard this.

Best wishes,

Nick

one and as a variable locate_this (not a string)).

As per the tutorial I mentioned in my first response, the "fields"
parameter of "search.Document" accepts a list of named fields, not just a
field. Again, try going over the tutorial
as it has
answers to all of the issues you've had here so far.

Thanks,
Mihail.

[google-appengine] Re: help with google app engine search api

2015-08-04 Thread Mihail Russu
The only required parameter of the `search.Index
`
function is `name` which is normally a string, so it's safe to assume that
`config.STORE_INDEX_NAME` simply stores the name of the index where you
will be performing your search so you could've had something like
`search.Index(name='my_index')` instead. Note that if you haven't
previously added anything to that index - the search will not return
anything.

It looks like you're following the "More Complex Search API Queries
" tutorial
which assumes you already have some basic familliarity with the Search API
but if you don't, you should start with the "Search API Basics
" tutorial
first which will explain you how to index your data first and then query it.

Thanks,
Mihail.

Hi Ciro,

The Google group is definitely a place where you can do such a study, and
we're more than happy to help you get some data.

The only thing is that while we're happy letting you post here, it doesn't
guarantee people will fill your form or not, and that is a point we cannot
do.

We're still very interested in seeing your study and the results from it :).

Cheers!

I think Vinny P is on the right track. Only thing I can see (as stated
earlier) is the PHP trying to upload as static files. Put the files back
where they were then replace:

- url: /scripts
static_dir: static_website/scripts

with

- url: /(.+\.php)$
script: \1

https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/php/config/appconfig#PHP_app_yaml_About_app_yaml

And try the upload again.

[google-appengine] Re: [HELP] My gae keep failing with error 121

2013-12-10 Thread Christopher Ritter
This is an unacknowledged internal GAE issue as far as we can tell (Google
has not responded here or Stackoverflow about it).

See: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-appengine/iWQfMpMP-M4
and
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/google-appengine/121/google-appengine/VlMoCUS6AnQ/ejqy_u_NTEAJ

and
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/google-appengine/121/google-appengine/Wayxe-rKVqY/sweNqKCoSMkJ

The only solution I have is to set the min and max number of idle instances
to the same number and turning pending latency to a high number. This
effectively disables the scheduler but will resolve your problem till it
magically disappears (approx. 1-4 days by most accounts).

Close. The service you're looking for is called a "Dead Man's Switch" (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_man%27s_switch ) i.e. if your code
doesn't hit a "button" in the last x time period (the button could be
anything, a database entry, a urlfetch, etc), the monitoring service should
assume that the code is down and commence emergency notifications and so
forth.

It's not too hard to write it yourself (although for obvious reasons you
should host it externally). Hosting it on a Compute Engine micro VM is more
than enough.

Asterisk means match zero or more of the *preceding character*

*/.** means a forward-slash followed by *zero *or more characters.
This matches the root, and any other page off the root (e.g. it matches
both *my-site.appspot.com/* and *my-site.appspot.com/mypage*)

*/** means zero or more forward-slashes (which in reality only matches the
root, because multiple forward slashes don't make sense)

>From https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/python/config/appconfig
URL and file path patterns use POSIX extended regular expression
syntax

In app.yaml, always enter URL matches in the order of most specific to most
generic, as GAE will run whichever script matches first.
Other commonly used URL matches are;
*/ *matches only the root URL (e.g. the home page, *my-site.appspot.com/*)
*/.+* matches a forward-slash followed by *one *or more characters. (e.g. *
my-site.appspot.com/mypage*)

I do not understand the difference. Both " /.* " and " /* " should mean
"followed by 0 or more characters", but " /* " breaks my mapping for other
urls.

Can you try replacing */.** with just* /* *and see if that works (in other

OK, so it IS the wildcard URL mapping:

- url: /.*

Removing this allows the backends to map properly. Apparently, the
wildcard url mapping short-circuits the backends mapping. What is the
default mapping for "/_ah/start"? I shouldn't need to write a dummy
handler for this. I want to just state the default mapping explicitly. I
assume I also need to add "/_ah/stop"

Thanks.

Just for the sake of testing, remove the wildcard handler and change it to
a specific path. But I doubt that will fix the problem, _ah/start urls are
"special" urls.

What is your initialization code doing?

2013-04-26 Thread GAEfan
Thanks, Vinny.

So, no changes needed to app.yaml?

Could it be a version issue? Backends does not yet have versioning. But,
how does it know which version of my app to access? It should just default
to the current.

I have only one instance set up.

So, I am getting a 301 at " /_ah/start". I do have a wildcard url handler
(- url: /.*). WIthout a "/_ah/start" handler in app.yaml, is it hitting
the wildcard mapping before the built-in mapping?

This should not be this difficult.

It's already mapped.

So quick refresher on backend startup: When AppEngine starts up a backend,
it calls the _ah/start url, That signals the scheduler to allocate and kick
up a backend, and to run any initialization procedures that are required
(so for example. in Java it runs the init() function). A 404 status code
means that this backend has not defined any _ah/start methods, and that it
doesn't need any initialization; it's ready to go from birth! A 2xx
response means that the backend did define a startup function, and that
function has been called, executed, and completed successfully, and now it
may be used for traffic.

But here's the problem: AppEngine called your _ah/start, and something went
wrong, that's why it's complaining of a "failed to respond" properly. Now,
we don't actually know what exactly went wrong; we just know that
something, somewhere failed during instance startup. If I were you, I'd
take a long hard look at the application's startup code: is it possible,
even remotely, that any code in there can fail? Start pulling out code and
testing it again, if you have to.

After all that, if you cannot find any failures, file a ticket. I remember
a time with a customer (a long time ago) where the backend was stuck for
some reason - application code deployed and worked fine on other app IDs,
it just refused to work on a particular app ID. Our executives called our
Google rep, and apparently the problem was something got stuck in the
scheduler (some reason like that, like I said, it was a long time ago, and
there's a nonzero possibility that the executives just didn't care about
what the reason was).

Like I said above, the backend instance is not starting at all; it's
failing somewhere at startup. Once you get that resolved, you only need to
hit it once.

Also, for some reason, starting up a backend after a new deploy/config
setting just takes more time than starting up a new frontend instance. My
theory is that the scheduler takes longer to allocate backend instances
because it tries to find a server that can maintain a long lasting
instance; but that's just my pet theory, you'd have to ask Google's
scheduler people what is actually going on.

Thanks, Vinny.

I missed that logs menu. There are logs. The error is a 301 at
 /_ah/start :

Process terminated because it failed to respond to the start request with an
HTTP status code of 200-299 or 404.

So, do I have to add /_ah/start to app.yaml? That should be handled
automatically.

Also, re: the 500 error... Shouldn't the request wait until the backend
instance is started? Otherwise, we have to hit it twice?

Thanks again.

The first 500 error is likely the backend getting allocated and built by
the GAE scheduler. The subsequent 503s indicate that there may be a problem
with the backend application.

Are you sure that there are no logs? Try going into the logs page, and
using the dropdown box in the middle of the page. It has separate entries
for frontend version log and backend version logs. Is the backend log entry
selected?

[google-appengine] Re: HELP: running my Python program in Google App Engine

2012-12-08 Thread Alexey
You're gonna need to isolate your program's persistence API and then write
an implementation of that specifically for GAE. Depending on your budget
and load, you may be able to persist your data into BigTable using normal
GAE persistence. Then you could make that data available with loading
logic that looks up your data sets in BigTable and turns them into CSV
streams. Another place you could persist it is to marshal your data into
CSV or some other format and dump it into BlobStore. Again, you'll need to
construct a way to serve the data back. Nice thing about BlobStore is that
if you marshal the data into CSV, you can have give a client a URL that
will serve the data out of BlobStore directly. The nice thing about
BigTable is that depending on your filtering or other runtime presentation
requirements, you can slice and dice data, provided you index it
appropriately.

You can't. Appengine supports python, Java and Go languages - not PHP. It

Re: [google-appengine] Re: Help troubleshooting multi-domain app!

2012-06-12 Thread someone1
Wasn't a caching issue (unless Google's Edge cache isn't domain aware). Was
a mixture of using class-based views, lazy loading, and not understanding
the underlying framework execution path fully. A little more digging and I
found a thread-safe way to utilize class based views with lazy loading.

The framework was never instantiating a new instance of the class to handle
each request, instead recycling a previous instance (this has its
pros/cons). While handling requests, it would update the request object in
the instance of the class-based view, so if a second request came in before
the first request was done executing, the request object was updated to the
second requests' and the first request completed execution with it. There
is a way to have the framework create new instances of the class for each
request which I've now switched to.

Thank you for the advice, my apologies for not realizing my mistake before
posting.
