Buat referensi aja .. yang gampang install OS Linux ( contoh = CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian ) biasanya udah bisa di buat Mail Server. MTA bisa pake Sendmail / Postfix / Exim , POP3 / Imap server bisa pake Dovecot, Webmail Squirellmail, Anti Spam pake SA,Anti Pirus pake Clamav. Konfigurasi sendmail = sendmail.mc, Postfix = main.cf, Exim=exim.conf , Dovecot = dovecot.conf Format mail enaknya maildir. Untuk yang di Medan belum ada rencana sih, soalnya sekarang baru di pulau Jawa saja. Terkecuali apabila kita diundang di universitas atau SMK di Medan lalu akan diadakan kerjasama disana bisa dibicarakan lagi. Maksudnya utk reader barcode? biasanya interface hardware via serial atau
usb. jadi masih tergantung format data dari hardwarenya. kalau sdh tahu
tinggal buat program utk baca data dari serial/usb port. saya pernah buat
utk RFID reader/writer.
utk database, sebetulnya 50ribu data tidak banyak. bisa pake msAccess.
pengalaman saya, sampai 15rb data {sekitar 11MB}, buka filenya lumayan
nunggu beberapa detik tapi updating ga terlalu masalah. hanyasaja paling
bisa standalone saja. kalo mau dibaca via LAN ya paling akses pake odbc
aja.

Setahu saya, hasil pembacaan Bar Code reader maupun Magnetic Card reader, sama-sama hanya berupa data text. Jadi setelah data diperoleh melalui Reader tersebut, maka datanya bisa diproses dengan program apapun. Jadi tidak ada program khusus. Demikian juga dengan Writer atau berupa Printing maupun Magnetic Cardnya. Kalau maksudnya, meminta program Outlook Express yang saat ini di komputer anda hilang dan diduga karena terkena virus, coba dengan CD instalasi Windowsnya, di repair atau install kembali Windowsnya. Backup dahulu data yang berarti. Kemudian masukkan CD instalasi ke CD ROM drive, kemudian start komputer dengan booting melalui CD dan pilih fungsi repair atau install. Bisa di set di mail client (misalnya di Outlook) atau di set di mail servernya. Paling gampang mengeset di mail server, tapi ini tergantung apakah fitur tersebut diinstall apa tidak. Untuk gampangnya coba anda login via webmail (kalau email anda bisa di akses via web) kemudian cari auto respons atau auto reply atau vacation di setting / options dari pada account yang anda miliki. Dear rekan2 yth. Saya awam soal jaringan , Ingin bertanya bagi yg mengetahui; Kantor saya mempunyai server (NT)dan sistem LAN. Utk internet menggunakan kabel vision. Pada saat menggunakan internet di server sering keluar warning ; The system log file is full. Kemudian di beberapa komputer kadang bisa masuk kadang tdk serta keluar warning ; HTTP/1.0.500 server error (the event log ile is full). Bagaimana cara mengatasinya ? sorry mascuma comment dan sedikit refreshing di sore hari... kalo log file disableterus kerjaannya si admin apaan donk hehehhe..ntar nge-milis terus tuh.j/k takutnya aja sih, kalo log file di disable, gak bisa nge-trace problemnya tuh sewaktu2 ada masalah atau lagi troubleshooting kan respot sendiri ? Log bisa dipotong per- ukuran max yang didefinisikan, atau based on time (weekly misalkan), kemudian log lama bisa diarchive (misalkan the last 3 old log di keep), atau mau dibuang sama sekali, atau mau di-archive dalam bentuk compressed file, etc. Enaknya sih kebanyakan script beginian bisa di-call dari siapapun yang butuh log rotation, gak hanya syslogd.
