I downloaded and installed the replay radio demo program. When I went to try the
demo it brought up what appears to be the windows media player but in a minimized
form that I could not expand. Help only brought help for the windows media player
and nothing on the replay radio player. Using the keystrokes from the win media help
file for expanding the screen did not work. Has anyone had a similar problem? Does
replay radio only work through the windows media player?

Hi Listers. I've purchased Replay Radio and most of it looks quite

I want to simply listen to a station without recording it, how do I do that?
I don't see a "listen" or "tune in station" button or anything like that,

Re: Replay Radio

2004-07-08 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
If you are moving up from replay 4.x to 5.0, the registration should be
automatic or it was for me. If in your case this is not happening, it may
be that your 4.0 version was purchased prior to April 15. Contact support
for help in that case. If you have typed in your registration, I think
there is a place to click which may require someone's eyes. I pointed this
out previously and they changed the entry screens in response, but the
changes may not have been fully implemented. They are quite responsive to
suggestions so feel free to offer improvements. I would warn you that the
recordings end up in a new directory and the screen for setting up a
recording has been changed. It is now set in five tabs one can arrow
through them and when one is selected, tab through it if you have items to
fill in or defaults you want changed. In some ways it is a better set up
but came as a bit of a surprise.

Replay Radio 5.0A

2004-07-15 Thread petrakigianos-giasou
Anyone successfully using Replay Radio version 5.0 with JFW
5.00.844 screen reader?

What is unaccessible with this program. I already read the user
guide and faqs on Replay Radio's web site. They reccomended
using the wave out plug-in on the output side within Winamp
player.

As for Real player I only have Real Player 8 basic version along
with the "tara plug-in" which allows Winamp to play real audio
streams within Winamp.

Anyone using Real Player 8 Basic with the tara plug-in with
Replay Radio or do I need to get the Real One or Real Player 10
version?

Any help is appreciated.

I was the beta tester for Replay Radio 9. This program is not the old Replay
Radio that you used to have. The new Replay Radio 9 or some call it just Replay
Radio will start up on its own when it has to do a recording. It does not have
to be running. If you set the times correctly it will record for you. It will
activate itself when it is time to record.

Write me off list and I will send you my Replay Radio notes. Put in subject
line Replay Radio.

Thank you.

Replay Radio will activate itself on its own and record. It does not have to be
running.
The start recording time and date settings has been improved since my testing.
Very easy to configure now so disregard my notes on setting the start time and
date below.
Pay attention on how to use the tab sheets.

Replay Radio
Text Tutorial

Replay Radio 9
Installation
No installation issues experienced.

Default storage folder is

C:\Users\your-computer-name\Documents\Applian\Replay Radio

Only If You Are A Dropbox User

When you run Replay Radio 9 you will get a pop up window asking you if you want
to use your Dropbox folder as your storage folder with options yes or no and a
checkbox.

Replay Radio 9 Settings

Choose alt-t for the tools menu.

For Replay Media Catcher 5 Settings

Press enter on Library tab on main interface.

Press alt-l for the Library menu

then proceed with the steps below for either program to do

Choose settings

Library tab sheet properties is the default

Press spacebar key to check mark the checkbox that reads

Choose Player based on Windows File association

This will preserve your audio / video files playback with whatever default
media player(s) you are using.

If the above checkbox is not checked then you will be asked if you want to use
the Applian FLV & Media Player which plays many file types.

It is a clone of VLC Media Player but has no buttons interface

When you attempt to play a file within either replay Radio 9 or Replay Media
Catcher 5 you will be asked if you want to use / download the Applian FLV &
Media Player with yes or no.

If you know the file type is supported on your system then choose no

So don't download this

There is another checkbox in the library settings called 'Enable Sound Effects'

This should have a check mark. If not press space bar key.

This enables you to hear a start sound when the programs have begun to capture
and a stop sound is heard when a capture has finished.

If for some reason you don't like your settings or can't remember what you have
changed simply click the 'Defaults' button to reset your settings back to the
defaults.

Choose OK

Replay Radio 9 & Replay Media Catcher 5 use the same engines so many parts are
exactly the same so once you have used one of the programs the other is easier
to use and understood.

The user interfaces are different though.

If you have scheduled a future recording but have forgotten to run the Replay
Radio 9 application, no problem because Replay Radio 9 will open itself and
start the recording for you.

Setting the configurations

You may want to change where your storage folder is located. This is where your

files are stored.

Replay Radio 9, changing the storage folder location can be done by

Replay Radio info

2015-07-09 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
>From my notes,

I was the beta tester over two years ago. I do not know what your computer
skills are but if you know what a menu bar is and can tab around and look for
buttons on the Replay Radio 9 interface and knows what a Schedule tab list view
and My Recordings tab list view are and knows how to edit a edit field box to
search for a station within the Replay Guide and then adjust the time and date
fields for your station then you will be fine. Like any application it takes
time to learn its user interface at the beginning. You can also tune to your
stations that you have added via the guide or manually.
Which screen reader do you use.

If you have a station or show that is not in the replay guide you can have it
added to the guide by Applian. You can email the person I know there that is in
charge of the guide.
When you add a station from the replay guide you will get this scheduler window
on your screen. You click on this +add link within the replay guide after
finding your station and then the scheduler window for your station appears.
This scheduler window can be used via the tab keyboard key with edit fields and
combo boxes. The scheduler window has the tabs and they are Recordings, Tuning
and Advanced tabs. To go into one of these tabs you need to have focus on the
desired tab then press your enter key to make it the active tab then proceed
with your tab key to see the settings / properties for that particular tab
sheet.
Using insert+tab with JAWS or NVDA will say Recording checked or if you pressed
your enter key on the tuning tab it will say tuning checked which means it’s
the active tab.
You can record your stations and tune to them. Some of the stations you record
will be captured silently in the background which is called Direct Download. It
all depends on the station you are using.
In the scheduler window for your station there is this No Conversion Settings
button which you press your spacebar on and will allow you to change the
origianl stream format to be from FLV to MP3. Some stations use FLV so doing
this will automatically convert your original FLV stream recording to MP3
format. You can also convert manually any recordings you have in your My
Recording list view to MP3. Say you see this FLV recording for your station you
recorded you would arrow down to this file and press applications key / context
menu / shift+f10 and choose save as MP3. This will convert any of your non MP3
recordings to MP3 manually.
Finally anything you add via Replay Guide will show up in the Schedule tab list
view area. Any of your recordings will show up in your My Recordings list view.
You can use up and down arrow keys and first letter navigation within this list
view to find your content.
To edit a station that is already in your Schedule list view you would first
find the station the Schedule list view and press your enter keyboard key on
it. This will bring up your station’s scheduler window where you can edit the
time and date fields and monday through Friday checkboxes and no conversion
settings buttton with spacebar.

Keyboard Shortcuts

a.. Ctrl+r: Start an audio recording
b.. Ctrl+x: Stop an audio recording
c.. Ctrl+n: Create a new, empty schedule item
d.. Ctrl+c: Copy currently selected schedule as a new schedule
e.. Ctrl+e: Open currently selected schedule item for editing
f.. Delete: Delete the currently selected item
g.. Ctrl+g: Start the currently selected schedule item and record for given
duration
h.. Ctrl+t: Tune to the station on the currently selected schedule item. The
Tune tab details must be filled in.
  i.. Ctrl+s: Open Settings
j.. Escape: Stop the currently selected recording
k.. F2: Rename the currently selected recording
l.. Enter: Play the currently selected recording
m.. F5: Restart the the currently selected recording
I have not tested all these shortcuts.

replay radio 7 question

2006-02-26 Thread Ray Slaton
Hi I am trying a demo of replay radio with jaws seven.
Tried to record a show, but received error message, saying couldn't connect to
server.
I may have it configured wrong.
Right after installing it, I was asked about connection speed.
I was giving a choice of dial up connection or proxy server.
Wasn't sure what to do since I am on cable.
Second question, what is the easiest way to get to the shows that you've
recorded?
I know I can only play fifteen minutes audio using this demo version, I just
need a little more help with the program.
Thanks in advance, and jonathan, what a great review on your site.
Had no idea you were living in the U.S. now.
Again, thanks again guys.

replay-radio a/v

2006-03-02 Thread Curtis Delzer
This is fantastic software. I bought it! Jonathan, however, when I
attempted to record your tutorial at:
http://www.audioblog.com/playweb?audioid=P11c4b4b51f579a9a6d9fd7f3cf50823aZV56QlREY2Zz&buffer=5&fc=CCFF33&pc=CCFF33&kc=FFCC33&bc=FF&autoplay=1&gateway=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.audioblog.com%2Fplaylist&player=ap21
I could tune in, (since it used my internet explorer "player," but I
could not, for some reason, get the software to capture the stream.
What am I doing wrong? Would you try and see if you can do it, or
maybe I have the url wrong, though it is split into 2 lines above. I
got that from top tech tidbits which is published every Thursday, but
maybe another would work better for capturing with a/v. Let me know,
ok? I got small *.mp3 files with silence, the server seemed to
disconnect though as I say I coult "tune in" just fine.

Re: replay radio problems

2006-03-09 Thread Chris Skarstad
hi Ray

I didn't know this until another list member clued me in, but
aparentlysome streams*have* to be recorded via your sound card
because they're protected by what is called a broadcast flag. So for
these streams, what I would do is just record those through your
sound card, and for others, try different streams. For me, the
capture as mp3 has worked almost every time accept for once, when
Replay AV gave me an error message about converting to
mp3. Aparently there's a bit of an issue with converting some real
audio streams to mp3. Hopefully the replay folks can work on making
it more reliable. Anyways, just keep at it, and go into your
settings and make sure that you don't have Replay AV set up so that
it splits files on its own. if it loses the connection to the stream
then obviously it's going to create another file when it picks up the
stream, but if you leave all the choices in that section at the
defaults, you should be fine.

the file type that won't record by download is asf. the funny thing is it
will record but nothing will play the file and it won't convert. i have just
found out today that recording through the soundcard works like a charm and

Re: replay radio question

2005-05-04 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
select the station you want to listen to if you already have something
scheduled on it or go to the add show menu, pick a station, and proceed
through marking it is "unscheduled." Now once you have completed the menus,
that station will always be available in the initial menu of replay-radio.
Tabbing through that menu you will come to the item: tune to station.
So from then on, open the program, tab over to the list of shows and arrow
down till the one you want is selected, say what, then shift tab back to
"tune" and hit the space bar. The same actions can be taken with use of
mouse keys or partially with arrow keys, but this is the simplest way I can
suggest for tuning in a station. No recording will be made but the station
will come in. If you want to record at that time, first select the station
or a show on that station from your preset list, then use the "record now"
function.

Recording with Replay Radio

2006-11-14 Thread Terri Elliott
Every time I try recording something with Replay Radio and if I want to
listen to the station with Winamp, Window's Media Player, or Real Player the
stream won't stay in. It keeps going in and out. Especially if I want to
record something from A C B radio Interactive. I don't know why this is
happening. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions as to how I can fix this
problem I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Replay Radio with WinEyes

I just heard about Replay Radio on this list so I got a demo to try. I
can't seem to get any controls when I start the program. it doesn't seem to
have a menu either. I can't even close the program with alt-f4 or from the
taskbar.

Any WinEyes people using this program successfully?

replay-radio v5.21 available

2004-09-25 Thread Ron and/or Susan Denis
Playback-radio version 5.21 is now available from www.playback-radio.com

A 7-day 60 minutes a day demo is available as well as the latest version. Latest
version is free for persons with registered versions later than mid April I believe.
New users should be advised that most buttons require the use of the space bar rather
than the enter key.

Hi all,

Enjoying Replay Radio 9. Seems to work much better in Windows 7 than did
Replay AV 8.

I have one challenge though. Can't work out how to record from line in. It
seems to be requiring an Internet stream.

Can anyone tell me how to do it as it was a good feature in Rplay 8?

Replay Radio 9 does not appear to have the ability to setup a line-in schedule
as a scheduled event.

To capture the line-in sound you will need some kind of amplification. When you
connect the cable to your line-in jack to your computer my experience has been
that you should hear the actual audio sound from whatever external source it is
coming from within your computer's speakers. My experience only. If you do hear
the external audio sound source within your computer then press enter key on
the Quick Record button to start recording and to stop recording press the
Quick Record button again. Also note, alt+r+s will also work to start a quick
record and to stop a quick record simply press the same keystroke of alt+r+s.

I did the Quick Record with line-in with the audio coming through but it
didn't seem to pick it up. Streamed audio is fine though.

Pity, one can't schedule line-in recordings as this is handy for recording
non-streamed radio.

Thank you for your help.

This will also give a user more flexibility as he can set a start recording

Replay Radio new tip

2015-06-24 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
Did you know you can tell Replay Radio to put certain recordings it makes to a
specific folder you designate?

Replay Radio Folder Creation

2015-06-24 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
You want your X Y Z radio station recordings to be stored to a designated
folder instead of the default RR9 folder.
Also, you want your A B C podcasts to be stored to this other designated folder.
To do the above, you would;
This OK button is found when you add a station, show or podcast via the replay
guide, add a show manually via the main user interface of Replay Radio 9 or
when you edit an existing entry in your Schedule list view.
1. Locate the OK button within your scheduler properties window.
2. When you have focus on this ok button press shift+tab one time.
You will hear something like menu split.
3. Press your space bar.
4. Down arrow and locate new folder and press enter.
Edit box appears.
Type in name of new folder.
X Y Z
Press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter.
You are not finished.
Repeat the steps shown below;
4. Down arrow and locate the X Y Z folder and press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter to save.
Now all the recordings you make in the future will be save in the X Y Z folder
for your X Y Z radio station.

Now to the A B C Podcast show and how to designate it to a specific folder.
1. Locate the OK button within your scheduler properties window.
2. When you have focus on this ok button press shift+tab one time.
You will hear something like menu split.
3. Press your space bar.
4. Down arrow and locate new folder and press enter.
Edit box appears.
Type in name of new folder.
ABC
Press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter.
You are not finished.
Repeat the steps shown below;

Re: replay radio 7 question

2006-02-26 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
Since I have dial-up, I can't vouch that my answer is totally correct, but I
believe you want to leave dial-up unchecked. If you have a proxy you should
include its name and port, but if you haven't had to do that previously for
some program or other, you likely don't have one and needn't worry about it.
These choices are located under the settings menu found on the main screen.
Find settings and press the spacebar on it. Shift tab once to be in the list
of control tabs, and right arrow to connections. Be sure that dial-up is
unchecked, and unless you know better, make sure proxy is unchecked as well.
See if this makes a difference.

PRESS R TILL YOU GET TO REPLAY 7 AND PRESS ENTER.

Re: replay radio 7 question

2006-02-27 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
If you are getting distortion in your recording, it may be your record
volume may be set too high. There is a box to check in settings if you want
replay to try to automatically optimize your volume, or you can go to the
volume control which is likely in your systray and adjust the record volume.
This is only a guess as just don't know enough about your set up to say
anything more definite. RD

Re: Anybody tried "Replay-Radio"?

2005-05-03 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
I use replay-radio regularly and am quite satisfied. Have none of the extra
add-on programs so can't comment on them. With replay-radio and the
additional enhanced driver, I can record streams and have them divided into
chunks of my choosing. One can record either setting programming as with a
VCR scheduling the recordings in advanced, or one can find something and
record at the spur of the moment. Shows can be selected and set to record
automatically on specific days, to record only once, or can be unscheduled
and only recorded when you choose to do so. This is most helpful when you
have a station and occasionally they have something you just discovered and
want to get.

How does this Replay program compare to total Recorder. Does it use its own

There is indeed. I haven't tried it yet though. I will probably start
trying and installing things once I finish my cassette digitization project
in a month or two. I do one side of a cassette a day as a real time
transfer is required. I carefully analyze each tape or tape series and set
appropriate recording levels so to avoid the pain in the ass calisthenics of
re-setting audio properties, I'm waiting until later until my current
project is finished before deciding on an optimal stream capture solution.
After two tape failures in as many weeks, the cassette digitization project
has increased urgency.

Re: Replay Radio Driver Question

2005-05-12 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
In the volume control for most sound cards you can get to which driver to
mark as the default. Not sure how this differs from sound card to sound
card but I am pretty sure you can set the native soundcard drivers as the
default and the replay radio drivers will not start with windows. I used
the replay-radio enhanced sound card driver so I can avoid recording system
sounds and my speech. I set the computer's sound controls to default to the
driver that came with the soundcard on the computer. Again, I think I
reached this and made my selections using the volume control, under
properties.

Re: Replay Radio Driver Question

2005-05-12 Thread Larry N
Hi Ron. As you indicated, once you set your sound card as the default,
Replay Radio's driver should not be able to reassume default status with
every startup. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case here. My
other thought was that perhaps Replay included a feature which looks for its
own driver as default at startup and reestablishes itself. when necessary.
That is an option that I've seen in other software such as Winamp and Real
Player, but thus far, if Replay Radio has such a feature which could be
checked or unchecked, I haven't been able to find it.

In the volume control for most sound cards you can get to which driver to
mark as the default. Not sure how this differs from sound card to sound
card but I am pretty sure you can set the native soundcard drivers as the
default and the replay radio drivers will not start with windows. I used
the replay-radio enhanced sound card driver so I can avoid recording
system sounds and my speech. I set the computer's sound controls to
default to the driver that came with the soundcard on the computer.
Again, I think I reached this and made my selections using the volume
control, under properties.

Larry, now that I think about it, there is a setting that starts
replay-radio when windows starts and I believe minimizes it to the systray.
This can be changed in the settings section which is found in the main menu
near the end of choices. When the program starts, shift tab about three or
four times and you should get to settings. Hit the spacebar, when you do.
I believe the choice of starting replay-radio when windows starts is in the

option.

Hi their,

You will find if the sound driver is installed and you have told
replay radio to use that external driver it will always use the
external driver and you will always have to change the configuration
back to your sound card of coise!!

I use quick mix it's a very good utility you set your preferred
settings in your mixer then save them then when you need to use them
you just open quick mix and just open the preferred setting of your
choose.

If I was you I would unstall the external driver for replay radio it
causes more problems than it is worth in my opinion.

all the best.

Peter, others may see it differently, but to me it's easier to set up timed
recordings in Replay Radio. I still like total recorder for other tasks, but
Replay Radio has a database of stations, and you can add to that database
with your own favorites, again contributing to ease of use. Replay Radio
does offer a 7 day demo. You could give it a try for yourself and see what
you think. I believe that the demo's only restriction is that recordings
are limited to an hour.

Re: Replay Radio Driver Question

2005-05-14 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
1. The program comes with a good help file or links to help on the net but
there is not a good hotkey list that I've seen nor for that matter are there
many hotkeys that I've noticed. On the other hand, it is quite accessible.
It will record shows in most formats but does seem to require that you have
the requisite player (windows media or real) on your computer. You can
choose how to save the files: as WAV or several levels of MP3 files. I
think there is also an option to save them as WMA files but am not sure.
The program is not hard to use but does require one to remember that the
spacebar activates most buttons rather than the enter key. There are a
couple of times when this is not the case, but these seem self evident when
relevant. RD

Re: Replay Radio Driver Question

2005-05-14 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
Actually, for many soundcards, you can make recordings without the replay
radio drivers. I suspect you need them if, like myself, you want to use the
extended sound card driver. This is not automatically loaded onto your
computer as it can in some cases cause problems, but was revamped and
brought back into the program by popular demand because it allows one to
record the stream before it hits the sound card screening out any system
sounds and this includes speech. It is easily removed from the control
panel add-remove programs option specifically because they figure that if it
does cause problems on a specific system, the owner will want to remove it.
I use it regularly because it causes no significant problems on my machine.

Hi Joanne. Replay Radio's online help files are excellent and the program
works very well with Window Eyes or Jaws. There are also at least a couple

It will record pretty much anything when it comes to streaming media and a

Joanne, you don't necessarily need the driver, but it does help filter out
other computer sounds while recording. One difference between Total Recorder

Total Recorder has a setting to turn off System sounds. It also has "Use

I've actually just discovered my TR is not set to use the TR Driver, but the

I do not have scripts for version 6. It works great. The big differences
is the support for Ipots, and they are switched to a web interface for the
guide.

Replay Radio mailing list available

2005-06-28 Thread petrakigianos-giasou
I have created a Replay Radio mailing list:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

To learn more about:

http://www.replay-radio.com

Replay Radio 5.21 & 6 are accessible with JAWS 6.0. I'd be glad
to help anyone with RR 6.0 & RR 5.21. Join the mailing list.

It is not a free program sorry but worth every penny in my
opinion. Just my opinion.

The guide is very accessible. I was asked to test it a few
months ago and told them it works fine.

That is all for now.

Re: replay-radio version 6

2005-06-28 Thread Brent Harding
I'm scared to try that prog again on my 98 system here, but maybe the
problem I had is fixable. I decided to try this replay-music thing that I
found mentioned on some forum some where and replayradio was bundled with
it. After I rebooted, I started getting errors about Windows-95 being unable
to use the unicode version of atl.dll, but I run 98. I had to uninstall it
and repair IE. I ended up uninstalling explorer down to the earliest my
system allowed and then putting on 6.0, replacing atl.dll didn't fix that.

I had this problem with 5.2 until someone from dolphin created a map

more internet based it's not just a list of programs you have to go

Re: Replay Radio with WinEyes

2004-07-09 Thread Ron or Susan Denis
Hi, it would appear they have not updated the entry screen on the demo. It
is a print screen initially. When it comes up, there are three choices:
register, purchase and demo if I remember right. I managed the demo by
routing the mouse to the cursor once the program opened and using the shift
control numpad arrows to move by pixels, I moved roughly 3 down and 5 to the
right. I then clicked. If nothing happened after a few seconds, I moved
either down or to the right a step further. When you hit the magic spot, it
says something like "desktop" then "replay radio then "manage shows" or
something similar. From then on it is quite accessible. I wrote and
complained that for such a usable program, they had an unusable initial
screen. They said they like the suggestions and would make the fix. Truth
is, after you register which is easiest with a set of eyes around, the
problematic screen disappears never to return which is why I didn't check to
see what changes have actually been made in the intro screen. Once
registered, it is quite usable. Anyway, that is how I managed to get the
demo started after getting visual assistance once so I know what I was
dealing with. After that, it has worked well for me and I have been quite
pleased.

Re: Replay Radio with WinEyes

2004-07-09 Thread Bobcat
Thanks Ron. I was able to get Replay Radio started, using your mouse
movement tips.

Now I have another problem.

I am unable to set up a recording source. I run the test and am told no
sources were found and I should update my drivers. I read the faq but it
doesn't seem to address this problem.

It could be cause when my tecnician installed my sound card after upgrading,
he only let the basic Win98se drivers for the Sblive be installed instead of
using the full Creative package. He claimed it would keep my system from
slowing down.

I haven't had any trouble using my sound card with other applications so I
didn't worry about it. Now it looks like I'll have to mess around with
updating the drivers.

Thanks.
