Excellent. Thanks Ronnie. That last set of instructions worked. The Main Mix is playing now and I have saved it to my Favourites. It's showing that it's a chunk about 20 minutes long. What happens when it reaches the end? Will it just stop or will it carry on to the next bit? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
OK Nick, this afternoon I download the old Jessie from max2play and installed it on a rpi2B. I had to update the package and then had a problem with it downloading LMS, but eventually got the latest .deb package and installed it manually. The terminal print out told me > dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of logitechmediaserver: > logitechmediaserver depends on libio-socket-ssl-perl; however: > Package libio-socket-ssl-perl is not installed. so i did Code: sudo apt-get -f install -y then Code: sudo service logitechmediaserver start just to make sure it was up and running. I went back to the Max2Play gui and installed the Radio Paradise plugin, restarted LMS and it's playing at the moment on the default audio from the rpi. 26124 I suggest that you open a Terminal and log into Max2Play (user pi: passwd raspberry) and type Code: dpkg -s libio-socket-ssl-perl If it's installed you should get a reply like this > Package: libio-socket-ssl-perl > Status: install ok installed > Priority: optional > Section: perl > Installed-Size: 462 > Maintainer: Debian Perl Group > > Architecture: all > Version: 2.002-2+deb8u3 > Depends: libnet-ssleay-perl (>= 1.59), netbase, perl > Recommends: libnet-libidn-perl | libnet-idn-encode-perl | liburi-perl, > perl (>= 5.15.6) | libsocket-perl (>= 1.950) | libsocket6-perl, perl (>= > 5.19.8) | libio-socket-ip-perl (>= 0.20) | libio-socket-inet6-perl > Suggests: ca-certificates > Description: Perl module implementing object oriented interface to SSL > sockets > This module is a true drop-in replacement for IO::Socket::INET that > uses SSL to encrypt data before it is transferred to a remote server > or client. Could you please try with the buffer settings removed? MichaelFixed! Michael, as usual, you're a Genius! [emoji16] Good to know! It's an issue I've been facing with Spotty, too. The problem is that some actions are being triggered on track changes. And with huge buffers like yours the player can buffer full tracks. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Thx Michael, that was indeed a file type issue, I can now play Radio Paradise in flac :) However, it's all great at the exception of a little issue. After few tracks played, the album cover and the artist name get stuck on the raspberry (Pi3) screen. The music still works ok. Any idea how to resolve this issue? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
I shifted LMS to run on a RPi-3, latest version etc and uninstalled it from the WHS. There are definitely less jumps and restarts, but I do still get them every few songs, sometimes less often (say 10 songs) but it hasn't gone away totally. It's a fully wired network with decent 200mb/s broadband. The WHS is still running as that's where all my Flac music sits. It's weird. I'm sorry I'm not of much help... but last weekend I let it play overnight. And in the morning it was still about 1 track behind the "regular" stream as it was when I started it. And while I was listening to it I didn't encounter any hiccup whatsoever :-/. But I can confirm that internet connectivity can be a problem. It's not only raw speed. But at the office, where I'm sharing my 10Mbps with up to five people, I can hardly listen to RP lossless. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Just turned on piCorePlayer after a period of being off, and started RP Main Mix. It started 10 tracks 'behind' the current track playing on RP's web player. Are you running the latest RP version? There's an issue if you pause a stream. The player would then try to resume, which would leave you way behind, with the hiccup to come once it's running out of buffered data. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
I set up two LMS servers, one on Windows the other on piCorePlayer (RPi), and set a player on each (Radio and piCorePlayer respectively) to play the RP Main flac stream. Obviously, they weren't synchronised, but they did play the same tracks for a while, until one player (Radio) 'skipped', to a different track to the one which followed on the other player (piCorePlayer): piCorePlayer: "Pretty Bird" (Jenny Lewis) -> "Red Virgin Soil" (Agnes Obel) -> "Burn" (Norah Jones) -> "Sedated" (Choir of Young Believers) Radio: "Pretty Bird" -> "Sedated". So, the Radio skipped two tracks on this occasion. Stopping and restarting the Radio "re-syncs" the player/server to the current track in the stream. While I was writing this, the Radio skipped again, to "Frederick" (Patti Smith), several tracks ahead of the piCorePlayer, this track actually occurring after a Bill message subsequently heard between tracks (i.e. not an interruption) on the the piCorePlayer. During this experiment, there were no Bill interruptions to playing tracks, and RP's own web-player and the piCorePlayer stayed aligned, track-wise. The piCorePlayer setup seems at least a lot less likely to skip, perhaps not skipping at all (though I have yet to prove this to myself); the problem seems to afflict the Windows server. Just to chime in here. I have exactly the same issue. I used to use a WHS-2011 server with LMS installed on it. I've always had the same random restarts just as furry describes. I got fed up with it and bought a new raspberry Pi-3 and installed LMS on that and uninstalled it from the WHS server. Unfortunately I still get the same random restarts. I think it's less often - I probably get 4-5 songs before it jumps to a new song or to Bill. This implies it's something on the network that causes the jump. (we have a Asus router and most of the network is wired). I guess it could be the WHS server that is somehow interfering with the LMS, I need to leave the Windows server on as that's where all the music is stored. I don't have the media bit of WHS running, I use Serviio for video (but not for music). Not sure if this helps, but Furry isn't alone. cheers Phil philsparks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have seen periods of frequent rebuffering when playing RP FLAC streams, while AAC doesn't rebuffer, nor Qobuz. However, rebuffering doesn't generally happen before the skips. mherger wrote: > Setting logging for player.source=INFO could tell us more. I'll do that and submit another log. I tried playing the main mix separately on two players, the Touch and a Radio, i.e. non-synced. While not synced, the players were at first both playing the same tracks. One one player (the Radio), there was a 'Bill' interruption to a track, after which the next track was played. This put the Radio ahead of the Touch; the Touch did not suffer the interruption on this occasion. There seem to be periods when there are frequent interruptions/skips, and other periods when they are less frequent. Also, the 'Bill' interruptions appear to be somewhat more frequent than the skips (at least today). Living room: SB Touch, with coax to: Marantz PM7005, TDL RTL3 speakers. Dining room: SB Boom. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Just uploaded a later version of the log. Interruptions occurred at 15:31:57, 15:37:45, 15:42:50 (-ish, plus/minus a second or two). Thanks. Not sure what is going on there: out of the blue LMS seems to ask the plugin for the next track. This should only happen when it's assuming all audio data has been buffered on the player. What kind of player are you using in this case? Are you syncing players? Any 3rd party software involved? The only other oddity I'm seeing is a very large number of requests to get metadata. Dozens of them within a few seconds. Each of these interruptions apparently occurred at about the time of "Fetching new block of events". "Fetching new block..." is triggered when a block (usually a hand full of songs in one file) has been played. Or when LMS thinks it had been played. Would you see something like re-buffering attempts before these skips happen? Maybe LMS is failing to keep the buffer full, assuming playback has failed. Setting logging for player.source=INFO could tell us more. But that's super noisy... don't forget to turn it off once the event has been logged. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Using Airplay Bridge so player can't play flac natively that's why it tries to convert it. My thinking is now that it might be an error with that plugin and not this one... I'd suggest you head over to Philippe's thread. He might already know the answer. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Can you squeezelite instance play flac natively? LMS seems to try to transcode flac to something your player can play and fails. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Hi, I have tried to search this thread and others but couldn't find any solution for my problem. I just installed the Radio Paradise plugin and tried to play "Main Mix". It works when playing on my Squeezebox Boom, but not when trying to play one any of my Squeezelite players. Mellow Rock Groovy Main Now listening to the Mellow Mix (Sara, Fleetwood Mac). Awesome sounding FLAC stream. Anyway of incorporating this into the RP Plugin? I don't know. I reached out to Bill. We'll have to wait for his response to see whether it's feasible at all. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Although this was requested in a separate thread, perhaps it would better to ask here. With the new RP web player, one can request 1 of 4 mixes...
