Please ignore my previous message that there is no light when I set up the

To make higher ppm, I put it on manual and swap modes. Is that ok, or
should it be in manual and dc modes?

Sorry about the previous incomplete post - accidentally hit the send button...

My question is - I need to make a half gallon of product. One quart for me and
one quart for my wife. I will be giving her a plug and play batch while my
batch will be slightly stronger. Is it better to make a half gallon brew or is
it advantageous to make two separate quarts. Also - there is the question of DC
vs SWAP. I have the magnetic stirrer but I also consider the time factor along
with the useage of the electrodes. Anyway, thanks for the input and sorry for
the incomplete post.

RE: CSSilver Puppy Brew Question

2013-07-20 Thread Neville Munn
I'll chime in here for a sec if you don't mind, and for what it's worth...

With regard to brewing two smaller batches over one big batch...Smaller batch
and ingested over say the next 12 hours will maximise the Ag+ ion content
intake, the longer it sits in storage the more Ag+ ions will be lost or
forfeited to particles as that solution stabilises over a time frame. Simply
put, ion/particle ratio. This is only relevant if one decides that a solution
containing more Ag+ ions will be more efficacious than a solution containing a
lesser number of Ag+ ions in ratio to particles for a given issue.

A larger batch will take longer to consume hence Ag + ion content will deminish
somewhat resulting in more neutral 'charged?' particles being formed as the
solution stabilises over time or until such time all of that batch is consumed
or used.

I did this, but found that after making quite a lot of CS I thought the
colour had gone yellow, but found later that it was actually the glass jar,
which had discoloured inside. I always just rinsed it with clean distilled
water after brewing, but even so, it still discoloured. This meant that I
couldn't see if my CS was yellow or not. However, after making the last
batch and tipping it into a clear glass, I could see it was the jar which
was discoloured and not the CS. This was where my little white melamine
pads came in handy. I know that if you use tap water or detergent to wash
the jar out, it can cause problems with the CS, but I used the little pad
and it all came off beautifully with just distilled water! My CS was
perfect after that. Dee

Yes, funnilu enough I read them all. I don't know about you but I'm not in
the habit of replying to posts I haven't read. Faith added a comment about
the election to a post that was very definitely on-topic. I would actually
have had some sympathy with the view of keeping political issues of this
list if that's all you'd posted. But you lose all right to hold that view
when you put in your own totally disparaging remarks first.

Now of course people are allowed to have opposing political views after all
without that there'd be no democracy and no need to vote but the sheer
hubris of calling everyone who disagrees with you a fool, well why have
democracy? Why didn't you just tell America you were going to run it?

And as for fools, well you quote two completely separate quotes on two
completely separate issues and yet I get the impression you expect people to
somehow link them together. Now I don't know you so I've no idea whether
you're the one who's foolish enough to believe there's a connection or
whether you beleieve everyone lese is foolish enough to believe that. Only
you know the answer to that.

So Faith, are you going to mention those melamine pads now just to make
some people cringe? :) I confess I do get a giggle out of it when you do
that, though I still plan to avoid those pads myself... Just in case.

I've never come up with CS that wasn't clear yet in my short history
of home brewing. Not sure I would worry if I did though. When I was
buying it, the brand I found most effective for me was quite a dark,
dusty golden color. Mine is not as effective as that brand, though it
still works. That brand I mentioned comes in plastic bottles, and my
suspicion is that the bottle made it turn yellow. I just filled one of
their bottles with my brew, just to see. In fact, I put it in the
kitchen window (no, that's not a joke or a dig at anyone-- I just want
to see what happens, and that's my sunniest window).

I'll definitely drink (CS) to that.
He's got a heck of a road ahead of him, but I feel quite relieved we've
at least thrown off the heavy yoke of the Reagan-Bush slash-and-burn

RE: CSSilver Puppy

2008-11-05 Thread Terry
They're completely separate quotes on exactly the same issue - SOCIALISM.
There is no Bush sin that justifies giving the country a large dose of rat
poison. Why have a democracy? In part, precisely because it gives me the
freedom to call fools, fools. However, political correctness will soon have
the weight of the federal beaurocracy behind it, so I will enjoy the freedom
to do so while I still have the chance. It's not a matter of me being right
or wrong, it's a matter of policies that have the potential to forever
damage this 230 experiment in democracy in ways that are irreversible. Time
will tell - just watch.

I have been using our silver puppy for over a year now and absolutely love it.
I've had some batches turn yellow the last two times I made it and I think the
jars I used may have had some thing on them from washing/drying or my distilled
water wasn't as pure. I have found one brand of distilled that makes clearer
CS and the others turn. Some much more knowledgeable than me will reply. I
always only use a paper towel to wipe down the silver rods and make sure that I
alternate them.

We use a lot of cs in our household and love our silver puppy.

You may have to clean your jar as well. If you want the clearest CS you have to
make sure your equipment is as clean as possible and also your distilled water
is as pure as possible. These will affect your end product. There are probably
a dozen other factors that influence CS but this is the one that you have
control over. Yellow CS is still fine for consumption. It used to be the
standard everyone used to know that we indeed had CS.

The page does a pretty good job of describing the differences between
ionic, colloidal and MSP silver. It also indicated that most colloidal
silver is around 80 to 90% (actually he just says 90%) ionic, and his is
10 to 50% ionic. He calls one ionic and one colloidal, but fact is they
are both a mixture of ionic and colloidal, ours is just MORE ionic and
his is MORE colloidal. They are both mixtures of ionic and colloidal.
There is no real argument there as far as composition goes, but the big
question is which is more effective. The ionic portion causes the
reversion to stem cells, very very helpful for healing injuries, and
preventing scarring.. It is also an effective germicide. The colloidal
portion is also an effective germicide, possibly the effectiveness of
each is better or worse depending on the type of germ. The colloidal
portion is necessary to prevent argyria. So which is better. Not sure
one is better than the other across the board. Ours is likely better
for burns, which respond to silver ions best, and to prevent scarring.
His might be best against some pathogens, but don't know which ones if
it is.

I've been using my SP for a year or more, and the silver wire
electrodes are getting some build up (oxidation?) on them. How is this
cleaned off and how often should they be cleaned . I wiped them once with
a paper towel but was unsure if these electrodes were plated or solid, and
maybe I would wipe off the silver , too?

Thanks, so I don't have to worry about wiping off the silver

Hi Jeff. You don't have to worry about the discoloration on your silver bars -- it won't interfere with the production of CS at all. Most of us simply wipe the bars off with a paper towel -- and go on. No, you don't have to replace your bars periodically -- you can use them until they disappear. Some people save the very thin fragments and then wind them together to create more silver surface to use them completely up. MA

RE: CSSilver Puppy Question

2008-06-03 Thread Dan Nave
Shep,

Colloidal silver, as we make it, is an electrolysis process whereby
silver is released from the positive electrode and travels into the
water because of the electrical potential (voltage) which is applied to
the two electrodes. The positive electrode should be pure silver thru
and thru; solid - not silver plated.

The negative electrode does not give off metal so it can be non-silver.
In this case, the negative electrode will eventually become plated with
silver and it would be desirable to wipe it clean from deposits, but not
to remove the silver plating on the base metal.

If your device uses polarity switching, or if you don't understand what
was just said above, you need to use silver for both electrodes. (Solid
silver, not plated.)

Allow me to add my 2 cents on t his. Overt the past two months that I have
participated on this forum, the information that I have received has been
approximately as follows:

99% toward my building my own CS generator.
1% advertisement toward my purchasing a ready-made generator.

I certainly appreciate the willingness of these product vendors to share
their information, particularly when such information reduces the chance
that they will sell me a unit.

Regarding commercials...

I recently asked Terry Chamberlin to characterize his 10 gallon per hour
silver maker for the list.
He refused to do so indicating that the unit was for sale.

I don't understand this since if something is for sale, one normally
disseminates some information about it regarding it's general
principles, how it works, what is involved in the setup, what it's
limits and parameters are, information generally supporting the claims
of the seller, etc.

One wouldn't be expected to buy a pig in a poke, would one?

Perhaps the reason you see more about the silver puppy is that a lot of
people are asking about it,
and also that Ken/Ode is willing to disclose information about it.

Regarding the production amount...

Would you say that the Walgreens personal humidifier that many use is at
the bottom for volume and production since it puts out much less
humidity than the ultrasonic pond fogger mentioned recently? Probably
you would. However, specific devices have specific attributes and may
be suitable for different markets. I could name the attributes that
make the silver puppy unique and desirable for some users.

The Pups have a number of modes available, accessed by operating two
switches.

1] DC output mode. [Straight conventional current controlled DC output.]
Advantages: Works faster, enhances unstable properties of very fresh CS
that may have antioxidant and oxygenating effects through free hydroxyl
anions [Alkaline water?] and enhanced germ killing with free silver ions
there 'before ' they find each other and form stabilized CS [EIS]
Disadvantages: More electrode deposits that 'can' grow over time and
make a feedback loop that throws auto off..off. Very large batches take a
long time and those problems are accentuated, sometimes needing an
electrode wipe off.

2] SWAP output mode [Square Wave Alternating Polarity current controlled
output] Same as DC mode except the electrodes electronically switch
positions every 1 1/2 minutes.
Advantages: Eliminates electrode crud buildup. Enables a higher
probability that very high PPM batches will be successful and nice.
Disadvantages: Takes longer to get to the same place and time is
somewhat less predictable.
Also tends to make more highly particulate EIS..good if you like a strong
TE, not so good if you don't...and the EIS is slightly more stable at
finish.

Note: Using the funnel thingie as a stir enhancer [chimney] on the Thermal
stirrers, stabilizes the EIS as it's being made. Good/Bad ? A matter of
personal opinion. It does come out stronger at the Auto Off conductivity
setting. Conductivity and PPM are not quite the same things all the time.

3] Auto off mode [Works in both DC and SWAP output modes] References
voltage on the electrodes with the conductivity of the water and the
generator turns itself off at a given PPM [actually a given conductivity]
Also gives a reference point from which to use a timer to predict PPM in
higher than Auto Off regulated batches. [The Auto Off setting is hard wired
for reliability and not user adjustable. If you want weaker EIS, stop
sooner or dilute it afterwards]

4] Manual mode [Bypasses the Auto off circuits telling the generator to
ignore the turn off command ] Used to make EIS as strong as you like or
use bad water in a pinch.

Input: Virtually any power source between 10 and 30 volts, AC or DC will
work and the EIS comes out the same. You'd be hard pressed to not be able
to make CS if any electricity at all is available. Even very low voltages
will make EIS, but the auto off won't work if the output voltage is lower
than the turn off reference voltage. [It turns itself off and manual mode
must be used]

Differences in prices between any generator makers have little to do with
function and product quality.

Ode

stirrers, stabilizes the EIS as it's being made. Good/Bad ? A matter of
personal opinion.

Hi, What do you mean by the eDC mode? I am thinking of buying a silver
puppy, but am back and forth between the less expensive puppy and the
silvergen. Would this mean a difference in electricity use? Ruth

Hi got Mine about a month ago and yes it seems like the swap setting can
take about
t10 hours dependng on your water quality. In th eDC mode it goes about
5-6 hours. Im using Taladwada Distilled water (steam distilled). But
other than that I seem to be having great results.

set on SWAP- Auto. I tried to email Ode but guess he is busy.

Thanks,

Thanks Ode,
I did pretty much understand, but could have not expressed it nearly as
well.

Thanks Todd

  OK Biting:

7 hours is a bit long for a pint batch but not unheard of.
7 hours would be short for a quart.
If the water is really good, it takes much longer than if the water is
marginal.

Not to worry, go to bed. ;-)
