Beta 3.0.9.17: bugs (mainly IMAP)
Hello beta testers. I have found the following issues with the latest beta (after testing for 10 mins) - confirmations would be nice: # IMAP mailboxes are connected to/refreshed on startup although this has been "unticked". # Parked messages/drafts in Outboxes bold them. Icon wrong (old "parked" icon and not "draft" icon). # I still cannot delete parked messages in local Outbox for IMAP accounts - they _are_ moved to IMAP remote Trash but aren't removed from local Outbox. # Account Options: IMAP fine-tune "Allow N concurrent connections..." text is wrapped and under other text strings. # This is almost certainly known: Old keyboard shortcuts are not migrated. What I like: # IMAP mailboxes seem to be bolded immediately when new mail arrives. But I need more testing to be sure. Questions: # I suppose the "sort by thread" will be split up in "sort by reference only" and "sort by reference and subject" - this would be nice as I correspond with a lot of users of the broken e-mailer, Outlook and for them, I need the combined mode. However, would it be possible to show combined modes more cleverly, i.e. with more levels? I get: Original message | +--- Reply | +--- My reply to the reply above Would it not be possible to devise something that looks like this: Original message | +--- Reply | +--- My reply to the reply above Based on "Correspondence with same person and looking at time stamp" and maybe even using the Outlook Thread-Topic and Thread-Index headers if available? # Does anybody have any idea what the new IMAP option "Auto filtering" does? -- Best regards Peter Fjelsten 3.0.9.17 Return Pro ~18 POP3, 1 IMAP (MailMax 5.5) & 1 IMAP (Exchange 6.5), 150K msgs. 3.0.9.9 issues (already found?)
Hello beta testers. After having used this latest beta for a day or so, I have found the following issues which I _think_ have not been reported before: I have new thread sorting enabled but threads with new messages are not moved to the bottom of the message list (I have it set so that newest messages go at the bottom). In my QT for the beta list, I have %language="br", but it does not work. It does not change the language although all other aspects of the mail are changed as according to the template. If you remove duplicates from folder while the contents are visible, sometimes the message list goes almost empty. I need to change folder and back to get the refreshed list. If you scroll to the bottom of the message list, sometimes you can scroll 5-10 "message lines" beyond the last message seeing only whitespace. Issues that I _think_ have been reported: That IMAP filtering does not work as "well" as it did in 3.0.1.33 (actually, it does not work at all here)? I have previously reported that saved, not queued, mail bolds outboxes which is annoying. I cannot set font size separately for quotation lines in MicroEd. -- Best regards Peter Fjelsten 3.0.9.9 Return (pre-beta) Pro ~18 POP3, 1 IMAP (MailMax 5.5) & 1 IMAP (Exchange 6.5), 175K msgs. Re: The Bat! 3.0.9.9 Return (pre-beta) is now available
Stefan, Don't know if this has been reported yet: * Each time I start, I need to go to Colour Groups and Font and reset the font size (I have it at 8 pt). When TB! first opens, the font is smaller than this. I just need to open the dialog and click OK, then all is OK again. * I cannot set different font sizes for MicroEd's text and quotations. * The menu/shortcut editor really needs some Save/Cancel buttons! * Draft messages bold the Outbox. Not good. Only queued mail should. * In thread by reference view the subject field grows bigger and bigger as I navigate though messages. How do I avoid that. In old days there was an "automatic subject field width" setting but I cannot find that now. Here TB! uses 90-94% CPU on checking news via MyGate - way more then before. -- Best regards Peter Fjelsten 3.0.9.9 Return (pre-beta) Pro ~18 POP3, 1 IMAP (MailMax 5.5) & 1 IMAP (Exchange 6.5), 175K msgs. 3.0.9.7: My most annoying bugs!
Hello beta testers. I hate the fact that none of my keyboard shortcuts work: please fix this one immediately. TB! is mainly for power users (whatever that is) and we probably use the keyboard a lot. The sorting on date is somehow reversed as compared to before. Is this by design (and should I fix my View Modes) or a bug? If the latter, please fix ASAP as it is highly annoying. Lesser stuff: The Colour Group and Fonts does not seem to like my previous setting where the font was specified at 11 pt. Can be fixed, though. I have not messed with any of the new stuff yet, as it is hard for me to use TB! when the two bugs mentioned above are present. -- Best regards Peter Fjelsten 3.0.9.7 Return (pre-beta) Pro ~18 POP3, 1 IMAP (MailMax 5.5) & 1 IMAP (Exchange 6.5), 175K msgs. That being said, I don't mind Ritlabs releasing an Alpha to the general public (although it as per BS standards would be a Beta :-) ) as long as it is clearly marked as such. Hello beta testers. In the later betas (I am not sure when this first popped up) whenever I am at a "bottom" folder and use my keyboard shortcut for "move to next unread message", TB! does not move to the next unread message in the the currently selected account, but to the next unread in the next "lower" account. Exchange issues
Hello beta testers. Today our exchange server was upgraded from 5.5 to 6.5. Telnet-ing to it on port 143 gives the following response: Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 IMAP4rev1 server version 6.5.7226.0. Before this upgrade, the DNS was exchange.stibo.com but now it's called MAILA.graphic.stibo.int. I accessed it via IMAP before (I think the TB! Exchange functionality is _very_ limited - e.g. I cannot decide which folders I want to have displayed - and seems more POP3-like than IMAP-like ("Messages management > Delete messages from server"). Issues with the new Exchange server: 1) IMAP: I cannot move messages to another folder. Yes, I can dump the messages there but they're not re-fetched on accessing the folder. If I open LookOut 2003, they are clearly visible. All folders are set to Full synchronize in TB! The counts are correct, but not all messages are shown! 2) Accessing via Exchange protocol will set the Date of all messages to the date they are fetched - so now I have 3.104 messages with the same time stamp! As of now I am forced to use Outlook because of 1, so please somebody help me! -- Best regards, Peter Fjelsten (using 3.0.2.1 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1) IMAP/Exchange issues: Days since reported: No Drafts folder (0002080) 328 Current beta is 3.0.2.1 Beta/1 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
3.0.2.1 Folders lost - cannot be retrieved
Hello beta testers. Due to the "renaming bug" (https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=3848), things got really messed up here. Anyway, restored the account name and all filters (a lot of work). If I make new folders with the old names, the folders appear - but only until I close TB! and restart. Then they are gone again.
