Hello! As an answer for Your letter, I would like to write: >> Judging this is difficult just because of totally different >> traditions. > Not quite. If this is your kind of tradition, I feel for you, your > country & your traditions. No, it is not. Just think. First of all people showned on TV were kids in most. Second of all tell me, how do kids act when they see camera? The make some monkey acts. That's fact. I didn't hear any anti America slogans, but some people tells there were some. Anyway, You can not judge totally different people using Your measure. That's how Indians, Astecs, Inkas died... Different civilisations are always defficult to understand. What You consider to be normal can be difficult to uderstrand for foreigners. And vice versa. Islam is not an evil religion. It is religion of peace. But there are some insane individuals, who interprete Koran in some different, mysterious way. Do You know what Inquisition was? Christians treat murder as sin. But they used to kill. Look whats going on between two religions. Kids can't go to school, because they have to trespass some unpleasant zone. Every religion, believe couses devastation. Why? Because there is always some 180deg different one. Best Regards IronHand -- ,[ IronHand of MoonFlow ]- GCS d- s:- a19 C+++ UL P+++ -. |MAIL:[EMAIL PROTECTED] L+++@ E- W+++ N+ o? Hello! As an answer for Your letter, I would like to write: [cut] > Is there any way I can install two versions of TB on my computer?? > Without causing a lot of conflicts?? Yes and no. You may install two versions in different directories, but they will use the same directory to store files (mails, account configs, etc). However You can export one branch from Your registry after installing first version (You can do it now, because You already have Bat! installed) than install second one in different directory, selecting different directory to store mail. Than You export the same branch, but it's going to be different in data. Now, to make Your life easier (but is it easier with two Bat!s? ;) Create some .bat files, so starting one You instert Your [first].reg to registry and run Bat, and another one to instert second registry info and start different Bat version. O my! It's even more complicated than I thought. With 1.52 the same thing happens but if I now try to > cancel the download, the retrieval can't be cancelled, no matter what > option (Delete task or Abort) I try in the Connection centre. I can Yes. And I wonder what's the difference (Delete/Abort)? > still navigate around the program but I can't get rid of the retrieval > task. If I try to close the whole program down, it hangs completely > and I have to ctl-alt-del to get rid of it. Well, it's because it's in the developement stadium (Connection Centre). I also think, that it would be nice to let user choose: Old progress window or CC. Best Regards IronHand -- nIck: IronHand of CruX /GCS d-(++) s:- a18 C++ UL P+++ L++@ E\ maIl: { W+++ N+ o? Re[2]: Secure and The Bat differences
Hello! As an answer for Your letter, I would like to write: ACM>> SecureBat is not yet officially released and is undergoing closed ACM>> beta testing at present. > What is the cost of the hardware and the iKey needed to use SecureBat? > I just wondered if it was for businesses or too expensive or overkill > for the casual user. AFAIR it will not be available for 'normal user'. I don't know why, though. There is also StrongBat! out there, but I don't know the difference (I think it's not using iKey). Ask Marck D. Pearlstone, he's one of couple SecureBat users. Read: http://thebat.kappa.com.pl/index.php?artc=95 This is an interviev with Marck. It also covers some info about this project. Re[2]: Linux anyone?

Kylix uses Clisks (AFAIR) as its interface, which is different to the Windows API calls. Clicks _will_ be supported by Delphi, but in the near future, so I think that porting The Bat! to Linux without rewriting more than 50% of code is imposible. > but I don't think that we > will see any movements in that direction in the near future. Re: Crash Bug in Bat 1.52c
Hello! As an answer for Your letter, I would like to write: > Upon deletion of any message the program crashes. Thats almost right here. I get 'Exception...' almost every time I delete message or try to view in new window. I saw something like this before (I don't remember the proper The Bat! version though). I'm not sure, but I think it occures only when Message Center is active. I thought it was because IE was in the background, but that's not the point. Re[2]: The Bat compared to Becky and Calypso
Hello Jannik, JL> Just remember this: When comparing Becky! and TB you are not comparing JL> two programs at the same state of their development. The current JL> version of Becky! is 2.00.03 and the current version of TB is 1.49. A JL> lot of the goodies in the current version of Becky! will be present in JL> v. 2.0 of TB as well. :-0 So You think, that Becky! developement should be stopped, so The Bat! can release v2.0??? It's silly, I think, because the question is which mailer is the best _now_, not which is beeing developed more rapidly or longer. -- Regards, IronHandmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- __ Archives : <http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com> Moderators : <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> TBTech List: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
Re: TB! v1.49 - exporting in UNIX format
Hello Jan, [cut] JR>However when I go thru the process, TB! offers a huge # of file JR>formats but doesn't indicate what extension I should select for JR>UNIX format so on save, the file name appears w/o an extension & I JR>have to manually assign it to TB!. JR>I'm sure I'm not understanding something in this process & I'd JR>appreciate someone pointing what it is. Well, that's because unix is not like Win at all. There is nothing like 'assign extention to application'. Unix mailbox is usually named as user name or just 'mailbox'. So You see, that extention is useless. You can use anything You want. -- Regards, IronHandmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- __ Archives : <http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com> Moderators : <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> TBTech List: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
Re: Zeros in kill filter
Hello Lija, L> When I drag filter from incoming mail to selective download, I get L> something L> like this: L> [EMAIL PROTECTED] L> Why are these zeros used for? It is coused by the way TB saves filters in accont filter file. Try changing some parameters in filter You had in incoming mail. Then move it again. Changing location in filtering string from sender to anything else, or presence from yes to no will change numbers. The first one is location, the second one is presence. As You see selective download is realy poor in comparision with other sections, but every filter takes 255 bytes I think. BTW: I'm working on a tool, that can move filters between accounts.
