Thanks for checking! I am using "reply to all using selected text". Though I just found out it works in text view when there is *only* text view. If there are both html and text available, it doesn't work in text view. Instead it opens the reply in HTML, but the whole message and not just the selected text. In the toolbar on the bottom I can then choose to use plain text, and it will show the selected text, but that's yet another click. By the way, is there a short cut for "reply using selected text", since I can't currently create a button for that? After spending hours changing settings on both Gmail and TB, I discovered that deletion works correctly, if the folders are set up in Gmail already, when creating the account in TB. Deleted mail now correctly goes into the [Gmail]/Trash (selected in TB Mail Management), and gets shifted into the regular Gmail trash as soon as the TB trash folder is purged. Needed to change the settings in Gmail from Auto-Expunge on to off, and select "Move the messages to the trash". If a new folder is created within TB, it shows up fine in Gmail, but deletion does not work. The message bounces right back into the folder, after briefly appearing in the trash folder. -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Impossible to delete from subfolders (Gmail/Imap)
This is annoying! You can only delete successfully from the inbox, but not from any subfolders. The mail comes right back from the trash folder. There is one thread about this on the forum from a few years ago, with no real solution. Has anyone found one since then? I've tried everything I can think of, but using the [Gmail]/Trash does not work as expected. I can use TB's trash, but that doesn't delete anything on Gmail. This seems to work fine on my phone and with other mail clients. Maybe I'm missing a checkmark in a box somewhere. Tried all the different possibilities in the Gmail settings, too. -- Best regards, Susanne mailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 7.1.6.0 (Christmas Edition) OS: Windows 10.0 Build 10586 Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Sent mail in Gmail/imap
And another question: I've set TB to use the [Gmail]/Sent folder for sent mail, which resulted in all the sent mails from Gmail appearing in that folder. New sent mail doesn't go there, though. It shows up in the folder that it was sent from in TB. All my mails sent to this group are showing up here. What do I need to change in TB to make them go to the Sent folder instead? -- Best regards, Susanne mailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 7.1.6.0 (Christmas Edition) OS: Windows 10.0 Build 10586 Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Thank you! This was very helpful, especially the hint about the gmail settings for labels! I also noticed that all the folders I created in TB are automatically showing up in Gmail. I'm still confused by the numbers of mails reported by TB. For example, the Total has varied betwenn about 2000 to over 6000. If I add up the Total from all the folders in TB, the number is much lower. And just to make sure I understand Imap with TB correctly: the message are actually downloaded to my computer, correct? -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 7.1.6.0 (Christmas Edition) OS: Windows 10.0 Build 10586 Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I'm having a hard time understanding IMAP with TB. Can someone please explain in simple terms which folders I should subscribe to. All Mail was definitely a mistake, as the messages are duplicated in different folders. And "inbox" is not a choice. My folder tree in TB is a huge mess and filtering doesn't seem to work well. -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Filters in Imap (gmail) account?
Hello, I am moving to a new computer and am trying to set up my main account as IMAP this time. Am having a tough time with filters, though. They don't seem to work on incoming messages. Is it possible to have different folders in TB, and the Gmail account? Or do I have to set up the same folders in Gmail, to make this work? Thanks for any and all tips! Thanks! I'd better start saving, then! ;) How is version 7 working for you? TB 4.2 on Windows 10?
I've tried installing TB on Windows 10, and the install supposedly finishes. But TB will not open. The process is listed in the task manager, taking up a fair amount of cpu, but nothing else appears. Is this version too old for windown 10? I've tried compatibility mode, and the troubleshooter with no success. The troubleshooter claims it is an incompatible program, but doesn't give me any specifics. It freezes up instead. A trial version of TB v.7 installs fine, but I don't have a license for that one. -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 4.2.6 OS: Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Copy filters and folders to new account
Hi, I am trying to convert an account to IMAP, but since that is not possible with my version of TB, I wonder, if I could copy the folder tree and filters to a new IMAP account, and then just leave the old POP3 account as an archive. I've tried selecting more than one filter, but that doesn't seem to work. -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 4.2.6 OS: Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 6.6 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Change from Pop3 to Imap
Thanks for all the help with moving to a new pc! I'm actually back on the old pc, since the new one had a bad harddrive and will be exchanged. Now I'm wondering, how to best change accounts to IMAP on TB. Looks like I would have to create a new account. But can the message bases, folders and filters be imported again, once the new account is created? -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 4.2.6 OS: Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 6.6 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
