where to find notification of mail sent by iPhoto
Hi all, I sent some photos by email from within Iphoto 11, they were sent from Iphoto, and were received by my daughter, but there is no indication in my mail sent folder that they were actually sent , is this normal, as far as I can see I don't have a record of when I sent them, or , is the record stored somewhere else ? Re: Launchpad and System Preferences
Hi Severin, not the perfect solution, but you can Command/ click and arrange the icons in Launchpad how you want them arranged, ie the ones you use a lot can be on the first page of Launchpad, or, alternatively just drag drop them into the Dock Bill ( just learning about Lion !! ) On 26/11/2011, at 1:27 PM, Severin Crisp wrote: With Snow Leopard I had ALL the applications that I ever used as icons in the dock, a long line up but very easy and convenient. To this end only running applications whether hidden or not show on the dock. System Preferences is an anomaly. Though set as a startup item it starts and then vanishes whether set as hidden or not. It can be lined up easily on the colour preview screen. There is also a holder for 35mm negatives. The images are stored on a user-supplied SD card. I simply borrowed a card from my camera. Later I uploaded the scanned images via the camera to iPhoto. The test images so far are excellent. The scanner can run on four user-supplied AAA batteries which they reckon provide about 90 minutes use. Alternatively they supply a USB cable which can draw power from a computer or the AC power supply, which is also provided. There is also a special brush/wiper for cleaning the optics inside the device. The scanner is one of the niftiest gadgets I've seen for a long time. A sophisticated, precision bit of stand-alone gear. I suggest if anyone has slides to copy then this is going to be the ant's pants. At least I think so. Re: Label addresses app.
Hi All, once again thanks to Ronda, Neil, Mervyn Giuliana, for their input ( always willing to help ) I shall be using apples Address Book for printing my address labels , as for the return address labels I have done those on my MS word 2004 ( much to my disgust) I am amazed that Apples Address Book, whilst it does almost everything relating to mailing , it does not have this built into it. I certainly don't want to us MS by choice .can anyone supply me with the email address of the appropriate department at Apple, and I will send it to them to see if they could consider putting it into Address book ! Thanks Reg / James /Kyle for your input, I had tried each of them with no results ( I also tried each one again just before I sent this message, just to be on the safe side, still no result, I don't think I am game enough to try poking a screwdriver in there ( I usually end up causing more problems, but thanks for all your ideas. If the computer goes through the actions of attempting to eject, then reloading the disk again, it is possible that the case is bent at the CD slot. Use a flat screwdriver to gently (and later in my experience more strongly) prise open the slot and restart while holding down the mouse/trackpad. It took me about 10 attempts with one of my trusty Year 7 helpers to extract the recalcitrant disk. We discussed using tweezers too as the disk came to the edge of the slot then went back in again. When finally my nimble-fingered 12 year old got hold of the disk and dragged it out, we found some paper stuffed in there with it. This may not be your problem with your G5 (iMac) but it's worth a try. Have fun Reg On 1 May 2008, at 6:27pm, James Devenish wrote: Hi Bill, I think it is possible for a slot load drive to end up half way open, half way closed. I think this happened to me once, and I used a skewer to nudge a plastic lever that prompted the drive complete either its insert action or its eject action (at which point it figured out there was no disc). I'm not sure if that is good advice for your situation! There is another odd situation that can arise. If you have inserted a blank disc while iTunes is open, but then not burnt a disc with iTunes, then the rest of the computer loses track of the drive. The solution (other than rebooting) is to open iTunes and press the Eject button within iTunes itself. Bigpond closing Firewall/anti-spam/anti-virus etc for Macs
Hi ! I received email from bigpond advising that that they are upgrading their bigpond security Products, but enquiring into this ,as below, it appears that they have made no provision for us Mac users as from 31 March 2008. any Mac users with Bigpond ought to make their feelings felt by notifying them that they are NOT HAPPY below is what transpired between myself and them for your information Their email to me ( shortened ) To help us stay on top of an ever-evolving array of internet threats, we're upgrading our range of BigPond security products. As a result of these upgrades, your current BigPond Personal Firewall and/or BigPond Anti-Virus protection subscription(s) will no longer be available from 31 March 2008. Instead, they'll be replaced by a single integrated security package called the BigPond Security Solution, which you'll be able to subscribe to monthly or annually. My question at the moment I have your virus/anti spam protection, as from 31 March 2008 it appears I will have no protection, what arrangements will you have in place for Mac users, are you making any arrangements for Mac users, or will I be left to my own devices after being a Bigpond user for lord knows how long ! Their email to me (shortened) Thank you for your email, my name is !!! and I appreciate you taking the time to contact us. I understand that you are querying the security services for your BigPond account. I am more than happy to assist you with this. However, In order for me to be able to provide you with the information that you require, can you please supply me with the following details so that I can validate your identity: - Full name. - Street address on your BigPond® account including state and postcode. - Date of birth. - Full telephone number including area code. details sent by me ( I only asked a question-why the above req'd I don't know) Their email to me(shortened) I have looked into this furgher for you, and can confirm that the Internet Security Pack does not run on Apple Mac. I apologie for any incovnenience caused as regrettably we do not have a security pack that does support Apple Mac My question Are there any provisions in the near future to support apple macs, or indeed will the security pack be made available to apple users at all, and if not WHY not. Thank you This is certainly a possibility, and i have sent this feedback through to our products team for their consideration. I understand that this may be inconvenient and i apologise for this. Hi, running 10.4, G5, 1.8., had 10.4 open, working on some of the widgets that come with 10.4( don't know which particular one at the time ) all of a sudden a number of applications in the Dock was replaced by ? To get them back again I had to drag them out of the dock and replace them by dragging them from the original application. except the Epson printer which did not show up in Spotlight when I did a search for it, I had to re-install from the original Epson install disk, all now working ok. I did noticed that when the ? marks appeared Meteorologist 1.4.3 was updating in the menu bar, I don't know for sure but I am putting the problem down to this possibly conflicting with what I was doing. I'd be interested if anyone has had a similar thing happen, and was Meteorologist the culprit ( I've since stopped using it until this can be clarified.) Re: Lookup Postcode
G'day Tony Ronda finally cracked my State problem in the address book, when I started to enter W.A. and the menu dropped down, one of the alternatives I could select was highlighted in lower case, changed it to the upper case one W.A. and hey presto rectified. Certainly shows to check the simplest things first !!! Hope you have solved your problem Tony. Panorama downloading
Hi John Wrote I've downloaded the sitx file twice now... but each time, it decompresses to within 5 seconds of completion... then sits there. Just let it sit. Eventually it will complete - it may take a few minutes (one customer reported over 20 minutes). Exactly what happened to me, 10/15 secs Hey Presto, and it works. G'day, ( first attempt at posting, sorry for any protocol breaches) running G4./ 800 mhz./ os 10.1.5./ 768 mb ram/ iphoto 1.1.1. had 450 photos in the library and placed in seperate albums with the albums showing on the left of panel, used to click on Photo Library and all photos showed in thumb nail, alt click on one of the albums and showd those particular photos, now when iphotos launch there are no photos in any of the albums including Photo Library, info at the bottom of the panel states there are 450 photos in there ! When I go into Home/Pictures/Iphoto Library I can find the pictures there some say img-jpg some jpg, if I try to drag them into Photo library I get a window stating unreadable files, couldn't be imported( may be unrecognizeable file type or files not contain valid data can anyone please assist in how I can get my photos back, or are they gone for ever, hopefully not. thanks for any assistance anyone can give.
