Ho's music has a real sense of history embedded in its grooves, like a lot

Hello
Some of you might be interested to know that my guest on this week's
show is Oliver Ho.
He'll be doing a mix + I have some free copies of his new album on
Meta to give away on CD. It's not out in the shops yet and is dead
good (IMO) + the mix should be a cracker as well, plenty deep
Just listened again to the Oliver Ho LP and realised that it's track
three that samples Steve Reich, not track 4, and I think the sample
is actually from the track 'Drumming', not Electric Counterpoint.
Apologies for not being accurate first time round. Double apologies
to those
And talking of Dan Bell, his website has just had a facelift:

and he'll also be playing in chicago the night before Green Light Go in

Just out of interest. Do you think anyone in techno pays for their samples?
I admit, there's a huge difference between, for example, Dave Clarke and

Talking of Steve Reich samples, I re-discovered Ghost, on the b-side of
Pepe Bradock's 6 Million Pintades at the weekend, which has a whopping
great sample of Reich's City Life providing the chords. Dan Bell used
it at the end of his last Button-down Mind mix on Logistic...

Yes, it sounds like it has an excerpt of Electric Counterpoint, the
Reich piece composed for/performed by Pat Metheny - a deeply 'techno'
composition for those that haven't heard it - also a wonderful
creation that I'd recommend to

There's no mention of the sample on the sleeve notes, and my guess is

Somewhere along the line, we build our own stuff turned into we build

Well, I actually do build my own filter boxes (2 types) and Ring Modulators.
I've even sold many of them to name dj's/techno producers.
I also put together the MOTM kits which I've built a rack of. However,
