Apologies I couldn't reply directly to this thread but I wasn't subscribed
earlier.
Someone from the Observium IRC channel directed me to this thread. I help
develop a fork of Observium called LibreNMS (www.librenms.org) and wanted
to see if anyone would be willing to provide

I'm in the middle of creating a plugin for observium[1] and would like
to have it create[2] statistical graphs of my dovecot server [3].

been pushing on them for some better support for wireless devices but
haven't got any movement on it yet, even with quite a few offers to pay
them. For us, we use PRTG for critical devices to alter us in email

servers but as of today it's not working with Recursor 3.6.1.

Yes snmp request can kill the control plane of EXs. For example
Observium was killing my ex4550 (causing ldp sessions to drop and so
on). I still consider that completely ridiculous...
With correct snmp filter the situation is less worse, but I still have

It's more than just OIDs, adding device support involves a fair amount of
fiddly little things. Finding/cropping icon, regex to match the OS/device type
to handle it correctly, logic to handle the device-specific things, logic

Observium you can also script, also direct rancid / smokeping / collectd /
nfsen integration, alerting via email / SMS / slack / email / custom, can
do billing based on data totals or 95%, easily separate your links by
