Dear All,
Let me explain the problem again:
We have a corporate portal. The user logs into the corporate portal. He
clicks on a link for Remedy and we pass the username and password in the url
and the user accesses remedy to register trouble tickets etc. Hence the
login is transparent to users.

Hi,
There is service associated with the SLM
Nope, you have to use the 9i client with that version of ARServer.
Each version of arserver is built against one release of the oracle
client. Starting with 7.0, you can use the 10g client.

Hi All,
How can I improve automatic queries of my database??
Analyzing queries (through AR System Log Analyzes tool) I've seen that some
queries are consuming more than expected of processing on database...
for example, How can I optimize a query such as:
a)
SELECT T107.C1,C536870927 FROM
Your like statements in B aren't all that bad, when you are doing a Value%
you still have the possibility of using indexes, it's the query in A that
will kill you every time, %Value% means that every record in the table must
be examined to determine if there is a possible match, i.e. Table Scan.
Not sure what you mean by 'automatic'. The query comes from a menu,
set fields, push fields, or some other action that is in your
workflow. Find the source of the query and evaluate your options.

Keep in mind that using LIKE can actually sometimes force queries on large
tables to be MORE efficient - IF you are using Oracle.
Case in point - not that long ago we changed a query in an old system. The
query was saying something to the effect of:
'Status' Resolved AND Group+ =
Thanks for this direction Davin - I'm sure this will come in handy.
Does anyone else know if BMC publishes a comprehensive forms/fields

I'm just curious what the difference is between the T table and the H table on
SQL 2005.
I don't think the H table existed before we upgraded from SQL 2000. They
sure look the same for me but I'm not a SQL guy so I'm not sure why there's an
H table now. They both look the same with the same
The H tables store Status History. As such, they've been around for a VERY
long time. Not all forms contain an H table, but all Regular forms do -
basically any form that contains the core field Status (Field ID 7).

Hello,
I am facing a very peculiar problem with commandline data import.
Let me first explain the environment. We have two servers - Development
and Production. We brought the DEF file of a form called 'xyz' from the
production to development. Now we want to import data in the this form
to
One way would be to create a view of that form and give them access to just
the view. That way, you don't have to mess with the perms on the main DB
tables.

Do I just right click on the view then give the user access? When I did that
and I tested to login as that user I was able to view all other tables and

permission to that single table or view?

I'll let those more practiced in the process describe it. I've done it
once, and I'm not on a SQL system at the moment to be able to walk through
it. Basically, you would create a view of the table in question, and then
modify the permissions on the view to allow access to it.

Are you attempting to import into core forms, like User or Group? If so,

LJ,
Actually I would bet that the problem lies with the Portal
design vs ARS license restrictions.
I suggest that [EMAIL PROTECTED] needs to read up on ARS and the use
of Load Balancers to understand the implications of the Mid-Tier/ARS
and the Users (AKA: client) IP address restrictions.
Hello Rick,
No. Actually it is a helpdesk form from Version 4.
However, I brought the def file seperately and just sending the data
from the same form on production to the same form on development.
The form is supposed to be an archive of old data on new system.

Another suggestion is to use Events
The Portal Logout process could send an event to all Remedy windows and
each window could perform the Logout
