Given as much information as you have, the only thing we can suggest is that you check your database services - it doesn't appear like they are up. Again depending on your version your DB intance name can be anything between ARSystem if you left it to defaults to whatever you named it to be if y

In your SQL Configuration Manager, did you set your TCP/IP ports to 1433? The instance name should be what you called your SQL Server database when you installed it. When you log into the Configuration Manager (if you installed the SQL management tools) you should be able to see the Instance name.

It sounds like you are receiving the entire data set. If this is the case, to Carey's point, try to figure out what changed and only process the delta. You can do this before the data is exposed to AR or after if the necessary data is available to derive which were changed since the last process
