Five American White Pelicans were flyimg westward down by the lock system in
Iroquois at around 3:37pm. Someone else had mentioned seeing the same small
flock a bit earlier slightly north of where they were seen flying westward.

Great views today. At one point or time there were up to 2 great egrets and 2
great blue herons.
The Little Egret was grooming itself on a rock in the bay for 15+ minutes until
a great egret chased it off. But it is still here as if 12:30pm.

If using Google Maps, type in 192 Rivington Carp and it'll show you exactly
where it is. 192 Rivington is the last house to where the burd can be seen.

It was a sunny day and I thought what better day to take a long drive. I
arrived at the reported location of the GGO posted this morning. One fella
was there and he said the owl was skittish when approached. We both agreed
this was usually not the behavior of the species.

Late this morning I was treated to 2 Bsld Eagles circling overhead at the end
of Lakeside Gardens. At least one of them was an adult bird but they both may
have been . One for sure. They were soon joined by either. 3 crows or
ravens, too far even with binos to ID.

the east pond at Andrew Haydon Park. It is 2 feet from the rocky shoreline.

one another next to the feeder. I am not surprised to read there were 6

should have been turn right onto March Valley Road but stay left. Sorry about

I visited the great gray owl location at the Rockcliffe Parkway at Green's
Creek late today. I finally counted all 4 great gray owls. Yay :-) One was
closer to the front of the field and the other three were at the back where the

Visited Andrew Haydon Park and saw over a hundred Canada Geese in the pond,
grass and Ottawa River. In the mix was apparently 1 or 2 Cackling Geese as

The snowy owl is still there on the same rocks as last Saturday. This time it
is much higher up and is easily seen from Britannia Pier/Lakeside Gardes area.

A trip to Andrew Haydon Park found one half of the western pond covered over
with a thn sheet of ice which meant much of the water fowl was much closer to
shore for great close-up viewing. Counted

Not surprising the Greater White-Fronted Goose was not refound again today at
the same location. Previous sightings of this species at Andrew Haydon Park
during Fall migration have lasted at most a day and a half and usually less.

(counted 4 males). Large number of Scaup still around. Did not see the Brant

very close to shore hanging on the west side of the pond keeping out of the

there at the western most pond. Expect these to stay (hopefully) until the
pond ices over. If you sit still along the edge of the pond, they will swim up

(vantage point from the boat launch east of the Deschenes Rapids). This was as
if 3pm. At an adjacent lookout there some golden-crowned kinglets, cedar

While watching the razor bill at Britannia Point, Bernie Ladoucer shouts out
Gannet over the water flying toward the stone foundation St Deschenes Rapids.

Road feeder area today. They were doing this for some time when suddenly the
whole flock of about 200
took to the air at the same time and formed a tight group. They likely had

of the Casselman area. The birds were mostly concentrated along Ste-Rose and

Interesting the report on the Nashville Warbler. While visiting the FWG
yesterday, someone mentioned having photographed a Nashville Warbler behind the
visitor centre on Saturday morning (if I recall). I did not see the photo
myself but she showed it to others from what I understand. I
A flock of Bohemian Waxwings was seen again today feeding in the same tree at
the Fletcher Wildlife Gardens.
I first heard them down by the canal. The flock took off in various directions
in small groups. They were also perched in trees right at the entrance to the
FWG along Prince of Wales.
Further to Don's report, this must have been the same flock seen feeding in or
near the backyard garden at the Fletcher Wildlife Gardens. Also a small flock
of Starlings feeding on the berries at the same time.

What a surprise and treat it was to see a flock of 10 Evening Grosbeaks at the
feeders on Hilda Road this afternoon. Last time I saw this species at the Hilda
feeders was about 3 or more years ago. Posting from my iPhone. Will post

I have seen the stray Cattle Egret in past years but it was quite the treat to
see so many together in one spot. I'll post a couple of photos later. They
are here as of 5:50pm.

Some of us were treated to close-up looks at Snow Buntings today on Petrie
Island. Initially there were 5 but the number increased to 9 late in the day
(counted every one). It's at the same location as in previous reports.
The Lapland Longspur was last seen late Thursday. Two

Bairds Sandpipers can still be seen along the shore at the Easter part of
Andrew Haydon Park. They were around up to about noon. Didn't see them in the
late afternoon.
In the same area approximately 18 or so Blue-winged Teals were resting in the
water (very skittish).
