I didn't really disappear.   I simply time-traveled to the wilds of rural Georgia to care for my dad.  My step-mother, the queen of cliches, decided to run off with dad's best friend. As you may remember, Dad, who is 78, recently had major heart surgery, so he needs someone with him at all times.
