Horseback riding (before I could walk)
Water skiing (slalom by age 6)
Riding my bike to some old cemetary and having a picnic lunch there (7 or 8?)
Riding my bike the 5 miles into town to get a chocolate malt sundae
cup, eaten with a wooden tongue depressor spoon, then riding right
back home (11?)
> Do you guys actually remember being a kid?
Most of my memories come in fits and starts, I get a flash of
something, sunlight on a particular kind of floor (turned out to be
the house I lived in with my mother while my dad was in Vietnam - I
was just over a year old), french doors in a livingroom
Me and my friends used to build scooters from a 2x4, a wooden milk crate and a
roller skate. Heh, I must be old :)

I actually remember back to when I was in the crib..but that wasn't a
happy memory.
My Aunt's dog came into the room and barked at me whilst I was
standing up holding onto the mesh that was the 'walls' of the crib.My
parents were amazed when a while back I was relating the story, and my
aunt said
I can remember back to when I was 3 years old. Certain memories just
stick with you.

One very poingnant memory I have is a day I went to the beach.
I remember it as a lovely, almost magical experience, with the sand on
the beach etc. We went into a store on the beach to buy a toy, I still
remember the toy.

I think that unstructured time may be the best thing you can give a

Trust me, I wish I could get him to sleep more.
He goes to bed strictly by 7:30. Which means he gets up at 6:00 or
7:00 at the latest. He is good about playing in his room by himself -
unless I am sleeping over. At which point he hops out of bed and comes
running down the hall full speed and jumps

When the water starts to really heat up this time of year, bass go deeper
and become less active, especially during the day. At night, when the water
settles down, is the primary feeding time for larger bass.

When I was growing up, my father and I didn't get to see each other a
lot. On the occasions that we were together he always tried to make

OK, so this kid obviously needs some sleep since he's the most involved

So, in order to follow Gel's directive (and counter my previous post),
I'll try a topic with a potentially happier trend.
What are the happiest memories you have of childhood?
Specifically 5 or 6 years old. And if possible, summertime.
