POR-15 literature gives you the impression you can just remove loose rust and brush. I disagree and would expect that rust would eventually come back. The stuff is a cyanoacrylate coating that creates a seal to block moisture. My recomendation is always to remove as much rust as possible. I use

Rich, It looks like the drives side remote sport is available in reproduction for under $90. Classic Muscle shows it available and I am sure the others have it as well. Looks like you will have to find a donor for the passenger side. Seems that that was a dealer installed option even in 71-72.

The catalog links are not working but if you use the pull down menus at the top they do. If you click the menu will drop and as you move your mouse to the items you want the menu will scroll to the left. You have to keep selecting menu choices until there are no more or it will give you an error

Well I made a deal with the guy and bought the engine. The block is a 361959 date code J 13 77 and the heads are 336781's with 78 date codes. The heads have new springs and valves. It has flat top pistons and a mild cam. There is no step at the top of the cylinders and it is clean throughout. Ca
