Downsides
Convertibles tend to flex ALOT more than hardtops, even under normal driving
conditions, they leak, alot of wind noise with the top up. The seams at the
deck filler panel will crack if the car has an engine with any significant
horsepower.

The starter drive is bad. Remove the starter and replace the drive. It takes
10 minutes and the part cost less than $10,

It's functioning as it's supposed to. It only comes on when the regulator is
overcharging or undercharing the battery.

You really don't need to put a lead additive in the gas because the heads have
the original valve seats. The seats themselves will harden over time just from
being an in service car. I just run plain old unleaded 87 Octane in my 69 with
the original engine in it.

Hi!
Is the 402 just a 396
a favor and get a 1 piece
oil pan gasket from Fel Pro to replace it. They are around $25-$30 and well
worth it.

There were 1966 Malibu SS cars built in Canada EXCLUSIVLEY in that model
year. Very few, if any, were imported to the United States. I've seen a
couple of them at the Northern Chevelle Gathering in Niagara Falls, NY.
