What kind of traffic is being passed? You can set it up so that ip traffic
or whatever traffic keeps the line up.
Or you can use "dialer idle-timeout 3600" command to specify the amount of
time the link is up after it comes up.
We use an access list to bring up a connection i.e. "dialer-list 1 p

study materials on it. Whilst often being hard to read it covers all areas.
