The CCxx CID materials are being updated but the material that's in there is
still very much valid for the exam. The old stuff is left in there because
some people still want to learn about it. They can skip over it if they
want.

I've taken the time to read the
entire survey. Maybe they're talking about future exams. Who the hell knows
what Cisco does? Personally, I couldn't care less because the idea is to
know the material, not try to figure out a way to pass the exam knowing as
little as possible! :-)

don't downplay your skills too much and make sure you really know the
material to be safe! :-)

I was wondering, I have the older version of the CCNA Certification Kit
(640-507). Will this still be good enough since they're now at 640-607.
Does anyone know?
Thanks,

While I agree that it's probably the safest way to go about it, we're
talking about a terminal emulator here, not the actual content of the lab. I
guess there's a fine line between the NDA and paranoia! :-) I'll write Cisco
and get an answer.

anymore what Cisco is going to do. And who the hell knows when! :-) But I
wouldn't expect any changes for a while since Cisco just updated the SWTCH
and SUPRT exams to the 6xx series not to long ago. That's just my guess.

You're best off biting the bullet and purchasing a 3550 or renting 3550 rack
time.

You need to go to this URL, and click on the "Catalyst 1900 original"
link:
http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/lan/cat1900.shtml
You will need a CCO login to get to it. If you don't have a login, you
can only get the version 9 software for the newer models.
Thanks,
Shaw
