Re: [html5] alpha release for myfaces html5
can't never be released. Do an alpha release give us the chance to know if the bits are good enough, get more feedback, and later decide what to do. The truth is some people only test some artifacts after a release. Do it as an alpha release means ... software that has just been compiled and ready for its initial test inhouse. I think that is enough clear. regards, Leonardo Uribe 2011/10/21 Gerhard Petracek gerhard.petra...@gmail.com: hi ali, most commits happened directly after the initial import. that didn't look very promising. it's great to hear that you plan to continue. however, since we haven't seen a lot of activity, we should re-visit the option to move the components to tomahawk (btw. tomahawk-sandbox). regards, gerhard http://www.irian.at Your JSF powerhouse - JSF Consulting, Development and Courses in English and German Professional Support for Apache MyFaces 2011/10/21 Ali Ok al...@aliok.com.tr Hi, Thank you Leonardo for volunteering in the release. Yes, it would be good discussing the future. I am still working on the project. Leonardo and I am the only ones at the moment. I am trying to work on the project 1 night a week, so the progress is slow. I think it will be like this for a while. We have a few issues to fix / features to implement already in the issue tracker, and I am going to add more. There isn't enough feedback, since I guess Html5 stuff is still not supported by every browser and not everyone can use them. So the user profile is more like enthusiasts who are experimenting with Html5. What we could do is providing fallback for old browsers out of the box, but it is really hard to implement. About the future: there is a lot to do in this area and I am willing to work, but I can say I can spare limited time. That's the intention of this mail. I think we should do an alpha release. I don't see reasons to block a release. I agree. I am pretty sure a release is good for the project, more people will hear about it; and hopefully we can get some feedback. Hi, Gerhard and I were on a different thread, with Sacha Labourey (CEO of CloudBees), regarding Hudson/Jenkins builds hosted @CloudBees, the Hudson admins at Apache are now in details with Sacha on that... During that thread I asked Sacha if it would be possible for the Apache MyFaces project (and others) to host their demos on CloudBees' Run@Cloud service. Here is what Sacha suggested: snip I suggest, just sign up for the service, pick a proper domain name (such as apache-myfaces) and forward me your registration e-mail and I'll make sure you don't get billed (the service should stop being free at the end of the month, that way we don't trigger a bill). Then, after a month or so, we take a decision on whether that works for you or not and how we could best move forward. /snip The PMC already discussed this briefly and we thought it's a good opertunity for us to show that Apache MyFaces is ready for the cloud! Please note that this is NO replacement of our current demos, that are hosted by our friends from Irian!! Last week there was a discussion about Jan-Kees' real-world example, which uses: MyFaces/CDI/CoDI/JPA2 - This is very similar to [1]. Not sure how far Jan-Kees is, but sounds like it's ready soon. IMO we should use that example there - if it takes a bit longer, we can go with [1], for the next few days. WDYT ? Hello, ok - until Jan-Kees' real world app is ready, we are having this one: http://simple.apache-myfaces.cloudbees.net/ I deployed the WAR file as simple - Jan-Kees' application could live next to it. Ok, the hosted Maven3.0.2 works fine with the current version of our pom (which now (kinda) requires m3). Most important: the nightly builds works, as they worked before. [ProjectStage] Enhancing the ProjectStage to contain DesignTime ?
Hi, opening a ADF/Trinidad application in JDeveloper's I am seeing a warning like this: WARNING: Your environment is configured as production and Apache Trinidad is running with debug javascript. See the org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.DEBUG_JAVASCRIPT parameter in /WEB-INF/web.xml The WARNING itself is fine, since the web.xml doesn't have any ProjectStage setting, but it contains a flag to not obfuscate our JavaScript (to make it readable)... However, in DT (DesignTime) mode this can be pretty annoying.. Therefore I was wondering if the standard ProjectStage ([1]) should contain a DesingTime value? In a similar fashion like the java.beans.Beans class does have a isDesignTime() method ([2]). Not sure if that has been already discussed when specifying the new ProjectStage contract.
