Yes, connected over a network via USB2 from an NSLU2, rescanning is when you'd notice the slowdown. You don't need internal IDE/SATA speeds when you're serving music, but rescan needs as much speed as possible. Lots of I/O requests, particularly for 12.5K tracks. You must notice your network

About the only thing you can check is whether the remote is working properly, i.e. check the batteries. I believe you can also pick up a dim glow from the IR emitter with a digital camera in a dark room. If the remote is working and it won't reset on power-up, definitely call support. --

Can you provide a little more info about the problem? Specifically, what does it mean when you say you're unable to play the files? Does the Slimserver software look like it's playing them, but no sound comes out of Softsqueeze unit? Does Slimserver not even recognize the files? Or does

It's easy to *tell* the SBs to sync, but it seems that sync'ing performance is highly variable. Some report it does fine, others report lousy results, and some (like me) report both. It depends on a lot of factors, and in my case I suspect that the problems have more to do with my home network
