Thanks. The thing is that I don't want wires running across my room from the system to the speakers. Wires from a wall socket to speakers would not be running across the room. I might stay with the wired system I have, but the arrangement of the room strongly suggests that wires between system

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, never had any errors with local streaming. And I'm using Devolo Homeplug, not wireless. Network Diagnostics does show the ISP traffic light turn from green to red sometimes, and then back to green in a short or long time (never any need to reboot router/modem).

am wondering why this has happened, and what I might do about it. The aerial seems plugged in ok,though I could remove it and reconnect it. Despite this low figure, playback seems fine, and the network test shows a 100% figure up till the highest setting, when it drops to around 90%. -- danco

What version did you previously use? I would assume that support would have suggested removing the SlimServer cache. It may be irrelevant in this case, but it was needed in one upgrade, and can't do any harm. -- danco

If you're going from SlimServer 6.5.4 to SqueezeCenter, you should probably remove the SlimServer cache. There have been changes in the structure of the cache, I forget when that happened, and your symptoms are typical of a cache issue. Why 6.5.4 isn't working properly I can't say. -- danco
