Ok that's a given if it setup correctly. Any good exmples of a hal for a 5i23
that using 7i37 and 7i33? The encoder are working but none of the GPIO is
working
Thank you Eric Johnson and Les Newell in your replies of 16 Jan.
The default setup for emcrsh works as you explained. This was using
Telnet on an Mac OS X client machine to the Ubuntu/emc server machine.
It would be useful if the wiki page for emcrsh had a precis of your
comments added to it.

Thank you - It works now :)

SourceForge wants to tell your story.
You should go with John's proposed solution, using HAL realtime
components to perform the logic between the physical input and the panel
item. It's a much better idea than Stephen's.

What you want to do is "or" the the inputs.

Hello All
I would like to override (force) the input of the home switches for testing.
I created a "checkbutton" vcp component which should overwrite the
"both-home-x/y" signal:
"x-axis-home-force"
In the postgui.hal:
linksp both-home-x pyvcp.x-axis-home-force
But this does not work. I

It is trying to find the motenc servo board.
Try any of the sim configs to play.

Sorry this is my first post so i have no clue if this is the proper way
of doing it. But I installed EMC2 from a Hardy Heron 8.04 live disk on
to my computer. Now emc 2 won't start. When i start it a message of
EMC terminated with an error:
Print file information:
RUN_IN_PLACE=no

The machine that says NAK, didn't Monty Python write about this?

Weeell Gene,
of course, I'm no cold technocrat with no other interest (even bike rider
in Summer, too). It's just that: I have been following those EMC
discussions only since I heard about EMC for the first time shortly before
Xmas. Since then, I've been trying to pick up as much information fro

Hello all you bicyclers,
I thougt this EMC was a machine controlling forum, but machining machines,
not riding machines. Let's confine ourselves to machine control and
exchange construction hints (how thick should the stock be?) and

Chris,
As Les said, it should work very simply. Unless you want to change one of
the defaults, all you should need in your hal file is:
loadusr emcrsh
You indicate that you have that working, but best to start with the
defaults.
After connecting with telnet, the hello string should be:
hello EM

Actually the current emcrsh doesn't do anything with client and version
but they must be there. I normally use something

Thanks Greg. I have not used tapered endmill yet, but it looks favorable

I talked with my customer this morning and got permission to forgo the
