Screen/Postscript. Maybe that option needs your attention? (Just a guess).

Quartet is chock full of nearly every situation you can imagine.) Just because the
lines pierce the noteheads does not mean they obscure the accis.

Several things you could do: change your meters to show actual
groupings, in the advanced dialog for time signatures -- put 2+3 in the
top box of the first pair, and 8 in the bottom. Or 3+2, or whatever the
groupings are you want.

In the time signature dialog, click composite.
Here is where you enter the beaming like 3+2 or 2+3, etc.
Enter 8 as your bottom number and click OK.
