I have been successfully using HotWheels this weekend while playing in
the SARTG RTTY contest with RCKLog and it has worked really well. The
only negative, in fact, is that it relies on the scroll lock key being
depressed which suspends Synergy from doing its virtual keyboard/mouse

I'm seeing some 'drop outs' when monitoring rtty in this contest
I can see the screen freeze for split second then resume.
Don't miss any characters or recieve as far as I can tell.
And occasionally a buffer will quit before it's finished sending all it's

Hi all
I use RCKLog for rtty contesting (which is the mode I normally contest
in) and since I had been using it, I would get these annoying "Lost
contact with TRX" messages, the band data would go to 0Hz and a few
seconds later it would regain visibility of PowerSDR. I had not done
any serious con

Jim,
I agree. It's not new; several programs are using the
technique. Just give one program the path to the other program and
they interconnect, seamlessly without com ports. The only time these
programs need a com port is when running a program that won't
connect, or an external device, and

Those with sufficient desk space may want to consider one hardware
alternative to the "problems" being discussed re VCOM:
For digital modes, I am now using two separate computers: One
dedicated to running the SDR-1000 (only) and a second running the
digital program. Only two audio cables and a

Well the price is certainly right and I prefer vCom to paying for
everyone. I suggest we gather the reports of the stopped ports in some
effective manner and zero in on the problem. I would not be surprised
to find that Eltima has handled some ugly condition caused by badly

I only have one issue with the Flex use of virtual com ports.
the vCom system uses two ports, sort of a null modem approach.
the Eltima system employed in the microHAM keyer system 'seemed' to create a
port that didn't need two numbers.
This was simpler to understand and simpler to use with prog
