My new-to-me Series II Wallstreet 266 definitely has battery issues - won't charge a new battery in either bay. Got it to see the battery in both bays, briefly with lightning charge indicator, then nada...back to red X through the icon on restart, etc. PMU reset ineffective. I'm thinking

When I installed my HD in my G4 400 PB, I also reopened the case when it wasn't recognized. Then I found a disk utility on the 10.3.8 install DVD which formatted(?) the HD. Then it was recognized and I was able to reinstall the OS and my other files without a hitch. HTH robert --- Jeff [EMAIL

Tried that ... the HD doesn't even show on the ATA bus ... so I can't use the disk utility to re-initialize the HD (which was originally done using the disk utility from the Mini) because I can't select anything, there is nothing showing ! Last resort tonight, I will try to install 10.3 by

This isn't a recommendation at Stout, you must rent the computer from them and the fee is hidden in your book fees which you have to pay as part of your tuition. The first year they had this policy, they had the laptop fee out in the open as a separate charge, but they got so many complaints,
