iBooks do not have a PRAM battery, Instead, they use either AC power or
battery power. That's why, if you take longer than 15-20 seconds to change
the battery when it's running on battery power, the PRAM memory goes into
default mode.

Any ideas here: I'm trying to add a LaCie USB disc burner to my wife's
original clamshell iBook running OS9.2. It shows up in System Profiler, but
Toast 5 does not see it. I think I have turned off the right authoring
extensions. It works fine with my TiBook running the same system.

Hi, how and why is this upgrade different from the others that we must
do these procedures before the update? Thanks, Jim.

Try reseating the card
ethernet just fine, by the way.
But I'd like to use the Airport for portability.
Thanks for enlightening this iBook Airport neophyte.

Well, I just lucked onto the answer following my second Google search. Some
person said, You may have to put a $ before your password. How simple! I
put a $ before the password, and the Airport card activated. How weird.

Unfortunately, now that Airport is active, I can't get on the Internet and I
can't access my mail. I can do both when the ethernet cable is hooked up and
active. Now what?
