dead 12GB HDD with a new IBM/Hitachi 40GB
HDD with 8MB Cache. My Pismo 400 only has 192MB (I want to eventually
get 1GB), but with the new HDD, Jaguar feels noticeably faster.
It really depends how fast your machine needs to be. The Pismo is still
a very reliable machine and the only PowerBook

I was in the same position - new book or upgrade the Pismo - decided
to do the latter after feeling the heat coming through the palm rest of
the current ibooks and Powerbooks. Plus love me Pismo!
As well as the 7200 rpm HD, decided to get a G4 upgrade (550 MHz) from
Daystar which we
to know more about the 7200 RPM drives in a Pismo. I have a 20 GB
drive that is seriously small, and I want to upgrade it, but I'm more
concerned about the speed of the drive. Won't a fast drive like this burn up
in a Powerbook? I mean, obviously they make drives this fast, but what are the
heat
I was thinking about getting a new book because i'm beginning to feel
how slow my book is getting. If a faster drive will make a significant
boost in speed, maybe I'll just replace the dying HD.

Pismo is about to die. It's
become a lot louder in the past few months. Should I retire the Pismo
and get an iBook or 12 Powerbook or should i just swap out the hard
drive to a brand new spanking 100GB drive?
Thanks everyone.

I'm planning on buying an older iPod because I don't have the money to
buy a new one. I was wondering if anyone can send me links to
information on what generation had what hard drive and features?

Hi!
My pismo stopped charging it's battery the day I upgraded to Panther (and
did all the updates) - is this a coincidence , or is there something wrong
with panther ? I tried to install Battery Update 2 , but it doesn't work on
a pismo.

Hi - I have a new pismo with a dvd player. If I decide to (or need to)
reinstall a new OS - like 9.2, will the dvd player still play dvds? The
player isn't software driven is it? Or if it is, will any OS CD have the
necessary software already in it?
Thanks
Nina
