They're normal - they are Click2Flash initializing. The warning is
probably it doing a check for updates. The error is it bemoaning
that your start page/tab has no flash in it to be blocked. Errors
that should have been suppressed during C2F's initialization.

aliases there. For your desktop, there is a standard shortcut - well
documented in Apple's help info... select the file and drag it to the

Growl does NOT gray out the whole screen, ever.
Growl is run as a USER process. Logging out kills the processes - no
reboot needed.
If you needed to reboot to clear things then *something else* is doing this.

up a lower compression / resolution video, that is often easier for

I put sensitive data in encrypted sparse disk images. That way you
have to have enough permission to get to the disk image file in the
first place *plus* you have to have the password to mount the thing.
(Helps to NOT stash the password in Keychain, of course).

Run a Verify Disk pass with Disk Utility. If there are any errors, fix them.
Check the system.log for error messages.
Boot into Safe Mode (shift key held down), run the Combo updater, and
see if that performs better.

gone bad (probably shorted) then at the
minimum you now have a power leak, and if the power is leaking onto
the wrong lines... Not good. Hubs are unintelligent connectors -
like an electrical octopus. You wouldn't continue to use an octopus
with a burned socket, would you?
