It finally worked but I must say it looked entirely different this time. Every
other time I ran hldsupdatetool (from a bat file so it ran the same way every
time) I could see all the files downloading with the % listed on the left side.
There were literally hundreds of files. This time
I get a connection reset by peer error every time.
It downloads numerous directories and files but then pops that error.
Last run I made it to 93.86%. Any ideas?

When we... the HL community... accepted the premise that Valve had the right to
dictate that their mandatory updates had to be installed or your server would
be delisted, or your client couldn't connect, we gave Valve final say over how
the servers are run. Not much you can do about it now. Boy
