Its more likely the server that is overloaded or something... or somehow
delaying the reply that 1-2s, which means the server rewind to the time
of the request... or at least that is what I think is happening we a bit

That matches the TCP/IP communication every 5mins between the
gameservers and some random external server. Disabling VAC (-insecure)
will "cancel" this TCP/IP session and the spikelags will be gone. At
least it did the last time VAC servers fucked up.

Simple; for nondisclosure. Many GSP's are duplicating the value of the cvar
sys_ticrate from other GSP's. I think it should be a corporate secret what
settings each company uses.

I am still waiting on a solutions from Valve for not blocking server-side
forcements regarding sys_ticrate etc..
Will there be a update?! Is there another possibilty on forcing the
sys_ticrate other than with using the cvar 'alias' in the startcommandline

Since the latest updates, the +alias cvars don't have any effect on forcing

i have a problem with de_torn on several machines with Intel or AMD Cpus.
It uses a lot of Cpu and causes lags and server disconnects.
Tried all binarys, always the same.
Debian Etch with 2.6.26-rt Kernel .
Any solution?

Yes, its happens somewhat often on my servers, and a restart or 2 (of the
particular server) always fixes it... its ofc. a AITA when customers with FFAs
have this problem a doesnt notice it.

Thomas, what processors are you using? Are you using desktop
processors or server processors? Also to get 500 FPS in Source use
fps_max 600. Source is odd in how it works that, you don't
on a flawless server when i ask how the server
run.
max_fps is a serverside cvar in hlds too, you can even set it using a rcon
fps_max X which means its actually in the users control. :-(

The memleak is there, though I though it was with zblock, since only those
servers used way to much memory. I had 1 server using 1.1GB of memory within
a few days. Restarting the server cleans up the mess, ofc.

I have run about 40-50 active srcds slots on a dual 2GHz + about 100 "idle"
with the load spiking to 23, and everyone reported perfect gameservers, so I
kind stopped digging up this bug of valves. tracing the processes didnt he

Why not turn the source code over to the community that supported it in
the first place. That is if this is truly an intellectual debate speaking
to what is best for everyone and not just a "sponging revenue off a

cl_updaterate can not be higher as 40 (limited by sv_maxupdaterate) and
