I would like to backup the RMM CDS and journal file to tape. In IBM's sample
jcl the backups are being saved on dasd. Can it be done to tape?
I am hesitant to give it a try because I am not sure if it could cause a
problem for example - clear out the Journal file. Below is my jcl

I checked last week's STC there is no record of the logs being swapped. I
stumbled on some procedures and the first last step in it is to do a HSEND
SETSYS PDA(ON) and the last step is to do a HSEND SETSYS PDA(OFF)
I assume that the PDA is set to OFF when the STC starts up.

I defined the dsn as VSAM EXTENDED format and I ran a LISTCAT to compare the

I have a SMS manged VSAM (linear) dsn cataloged in the wrong USER CAT. Is
there a way to change it to use the correct catalog?
I looked at using DFDSS COPY command however since the dsn is not cataloged in
the STANDARD ORDER OF SEARCH it did not work.
Can I use IDCAMS to rectify the error?

wrong User Catalog? Is it a naming issue or result of an
incorrect IDCAMS command?
