Has anyone enabled NPIV support using Cisco switches? I've got the adapters
converted to NPIV on our z10 and all looks correct there. We have NPIV
enabled on our Cisco 9134 and 9513 switches. However, the fabric is not
seeing the new virtual WWPNs (the permanent WWPNs are there though). I
Of course.duhIt makes perfect sense now that I read your email.
Thanks, that is the boost we needed.

You'll need a FICON port attached to your SAN first of all. If one doesn't
exist already, you'll need to get whomever is in charge of the hardware to
do that. (Its all me here, so I get my hands into every level of it.) If you
want to do multipathing, which is pretty common for SAN
We just moved our remaining LPAR over to a new z10. Now, some of our z/OS
people are updating their licenses on their products to reflect the new
serial number, etc. However, they are being asked for the new mainframe's

to
-504.

I know that this question has come up numerous times in the past, but
I'm don't recall ever seeing a consensus on it. I know that z/VM needs
expanded storage. However, deciding how much is the trick.

We have installed an IBM SVC and are now trying to configure it to work with
z/VM 5.4.0. I've zoned the SVC and the FICON adapters together and created
a host on the SVC. Both sides seem to see each other and communicate.

I've got several test Oracle servers running on SLES 10 and z/VM 5.4.0

FICON adapter and the EDEV support. That is working OK, but I'm concerned
about where to go from there.

Well, I got to pull out my old System/370 reference green card (really a

Its definitely not a disk access issue. Its running on its own private 191

Is there any way to trace what WAKEUP is doing?

I'm trying to define an ESCON CTC between two of my VM LPARs on a z9.

We are currently looking to add some disk storage to our SAN and I'm

However, there doesn't seem to be any info for supporting Linux on zSeries

We want to try and run our z/OS guests with a disconnected console. At

I never worry about unidentified email and their attachments when using
