Forget about any USB tuners. Your iMacs have only USB 1.1, which does not have the necessary bandwidth for video. Firewire tuners existed, but they were pricey. Formac made one, but recommended it only for 500+ MHz processors. The horsepower of the G3 iMacs really wasn't up to even SD analog

The hard drive shouldn't have anything to do with a power supply that's stopped working because the power supplies supply a regulated 3.3, 5 and 12 volt current to the SATA power connector and a specific amperage (5 amps if I recall correctly). I'm not sure about which power supply you need though

I've used all 3 USB ports, and they work fine for other devices. I was finally able to get the iPod recognized by restarting the computer. (which I had tried before and it hadn't worked). Now I'm wondering why I keep having a recurrence of this issue, and why it doesn't have one specific solution.
