Hi
I am fairly new with Legacy 6 (former FTM user) and I am trying to do a
descendant report and want to add sources. I can't seem to find out how to do
it.
When I go to report options, the fields are greyed out. Am I doing something
wrong? Hope someone can help me.
Thanks

I have personally entered everyone into my database. Never taken in any
GEDCOMS or other files. Not always because I didn't trust who I got it from,
but because I wanted to get a feel for everybody myself and also check if there

Ann,
I do the same, but use Aldfaer (a dutch geanealogyprogram) to enter the
data; I export this in gedcom format and import in Legacy because Legacy is
good in finding multipels of the same person.Guido

Debbie,
Are you certain that you are trying to produce the correct report? There are in
fact 3 types. 2 are Book Reports - Descendant and Descendant Narrative, both of
which allow Sources but the 3rd is a Descendant Chart which does not and hence
the Sources are greyed out.

there is another possibility.

You are right about too lazy to spell them out. I think it all started with

Hi Ron
I hadn't tried book reports yet. But. I just did and I was able to allow
sources with it. That is what I wanted. I probably wouldn't have figured
that out without your help.

The phrase name collectors seems to be used in two ways here:
1. Name-collectors has always seemed to me to be people who just
download and add names from GEDCOMs for people without verifying any
of the data. If you use any of this data in your Legacy file, do be
sure to give it a 0 or 1 rating,

I use a # at the end of questionable names, as it will sort the name
into the correct place in an alphabetic sort, but is still obvious.
You can also search for any name that contains a # to create a list of
questionable items, or to mark all the questionable items as Private so
they don't appear

I have two Legacy files, too. I have hesitated to put them together because

I'd use Privacy brackets. That makes it easy to not include them in
