I think you will find that people use it in different ways. A File ID is
something you put, not something that Legacy generates.

that I can locate the paper quickly whenever I need it.

I located the forms center in Legacy 6 and am glad to have all the census
forms so handy. But when I tried to print one (1920), the left side of the
page got cut off. Not alot, but enough so the title 1920... has the 1 and
