Personally speaking, I avoid Flash sprites that contain movie clips inside.
However, you might check out the static property of the Flash member to see
if it stops the animation from playing inside the movie clip. Look up the
syntax in the docs.

Could you insert a frame into the start of your flash movie so that when it
is paused at frame 1 it does not play the movieclip ?

Ok, this is plain silly, but I can't remember the function that returns the

Hi,
I have to play some 50 odd .mp3 files after an

exe of the mp3 files it works fine but when I create
an exe of the avi file and then call the file
containing the mp3's, no sound plays for the mp3 file,

Is this normal? I never noticed it before.
How big is huge? QuickTime will load some frames into memory, ready
for a smooth take off. Don't worry about it.

Director 8 introduced the \ character as the continuation character (so you
could more easily use external editors like notepad for your linked

Director 8.5 phased out the old one completely, so now just \

I had a number of mpgs I wanted to import into director on the pc side of
a crossplatform cd-rom.
Use the excellent Direct media Xtra wich help to control and play any kind
of video without hassle.
The other solution is to convert your mpg to MS mpeg4 avi files.

I'm glad you're memory is back, but the clickon only refers to the

You can do that using vList Xtra. Take a look at using media of

At any rate, is there a solution here? There's also the possibility
that the drive may already be mapped to the system, in which case it
needs to know what the drive letter is and write to it.

Buddy has a lot of the same file management functions as FileXtra. You can
check on the existence of folders and files, copy files, create folders,
and so on. I've found that Buddy works in cases where FileXtra fails,
especially on Windows. I'll admit

I've got one in the cast already linked; I'd think that I'd see it there
