"Layout/Character" is disabled, whereas "paragraph" and "document" can still be

when trying to export the LyX User Manual to PDF (pdflatex), I got 6 error
messages concerning eps files. It seems like pdflatex does not accept
postscript files. Does anybody have an idea how to handle that situation? (I
once heard about a "metapost" format but I have no details).

This was a design decision. I was all for not inserting an empty inset, but
others (notably Lars, I believe) convinced me that this was a good thing to
have. Press "Cancel" and no inset is inserted.

rm -r [asterisk] ~ makes no sense. I think rm should be modified to
strip blan

When I try to use hyperref with babel I get the error: "Undefined control
sequence. \ProcessOptionsWithKV{Hyp}". This problem disapears if I stop
using Babel (which in fact is not much necessary with slides that have
very short paragraphs).
But if I have tables in the document, they have in
